ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 16, 2021
What happens when you make a pact with your boys to stay single and never fall in love?
Well, you get the Playboy Pact.
We were friends, her and I.
Best friends.
It was easy.
Simple.
Comfortable.
That was our dynamic.
We had a system.
An understanding.
An unspoken arrangement.
We were there for each other through thick and thin. We had an unbreakable bond. Nobody understood our friendship. Because a guy and a girl couldn’t just be best friends without emotions getting involved, right?
Without noticing, everything shifted, and I was experiencing all these new feelings…
Jealousy.
Possessiveness.
She’s mine.
Yeah…
For the first time in my life, Mila wasn’t merely a girl I trusted and hung out with on a regular basis.
She had become……the woman I was in love with.

REVIEW:THE KISS is the first instalment in M. Robinson’s contemporary, new adult PLAYBOY PACT erotic, romance series focusing on a tight knit group of friends from Tennessee: Mila, Leo, Ashton, Cain, and Sawyer. This is twenty-two year olda Mila ‘Lala’ Lawrence, and Leo Hawkins’ story line.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Leo and Mila) following two time lines, present day and six years in the past, THE KISS follows the best friends to lovers relationship between twenty-two year olds Mila ‘Lala’ Lawrence, and Leo Hawkins. For most of their lives, from the time they were born, Mila and Leo have been best friends but weeks before college graduation, Cain makes Mila Lawrence an offer to spend her post graduate time in the Virgin Islands, an offer Mila seriously considers until a night of passion spent with her life long friend Leo leaves our heroine conflicted and lost. When Leo refuses to ask Mila to stay in Tennessee, Mila leaves with her tail tucked between her legs, and sets out on an adventure with Cain by her side. Hurt and angry, Mila refuses to acknowledge Leo’s existence but her thoughts never stray far from the man she will always love. Desperate to remain close to his life long best friend, Leo sees red (or green) when he discovers that there may be more to Cain and Mila’s relationship in the Virgin Islands. What ensues is the back and forth, stubborn and emotional relationship between Mila and Leo, and the potential fall-out as Cain refuses to admit his love for the woman that calls to his heart.
At sixteen years of age, Leo, along with his friends Ashton, Sawyer and Cain made a pact to remain single; a ‘Playboy Pact’ to never fall in love and settle for one woman but it was Leo’s love for his best friend that fuels the pact, a pact he will regret six years later. Staying in Tennessee to work with his father at the family owned construction company, Leo struggles with the loss of his best friend, a loss perpetuated by weeks of silence between him and the woman that calls to his heart.
The relationship between Leo and Mila is a best friends to lovers relationship wherein one night together changes the dynamic of their life-long friendship. Mila had always considered herself Leo’s wingman, and Leo was forever in protector mode when Mila’s heart was broken by another man. Months spent apart added fuel to an already burning fire of anger and love but the possibility of losing Mila sends Leo into a spiral of which he may never recover. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense-there is plenty of sexual innuendo, immature trash talk between the ‘boys’ with much of it directed at our story line heroine.
The secondary and supporting characters are colorful, energetic, dirty talking yet immature young men: Cain, Sawyer and Ashton. We learn a little more about Cain as much of Mila’s time in the Virgin Islands is spent alongside the man who is operating a catamaran cruise operation. Ashton’s story line is next in THE FLING.
THE KISS is a story of friendships, relationships, and love. Leo and Mila refuse to acknowledge the elephant in the room yet Ashton, Cain and Sawyer are more than aware of the palpable sexual attraction between our leading couple. As Mila and Leo continue to deny their attraction, the tension between friends reaches a breaking point that may destroy everything they have. The premise is engaging and real; the characters are stubborn; the romance is seductive.
