ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 9, 2021
The day Kentucky Protection and Permanency social worker Maisey Kendall dreaded has arrived—a coworker has been killed by an irate couple whose child was to be taken by the state. Grief-stricken and afraid, she’s comforted by the kindness of the Whitley County deputy sheriff who shows up at the call.
Deputy Aaron Friedman left everything, including his career as an agent in the FBI’s Amarillo Field Office in Texas, to follow his obsessive ex-wife and their daughter, Murielle, back to Corbin, Kentucky. Except for his child and a few coworkers at the department, he’s led a solitary life until he meets Maisey. Something about the smart, vivacious, and dedicated social worker tunes him up, and she feels the same way about the tall, strong lawman.
But Maisey can’t shake the feeling that someone’s following her. When Aaron returns from a trip to a local landmark with previous acquaintance FBI Special Agent Cruz Livingston from San Antonio and new friend Sheriff Carter Melton from Cadiz, Kentucky, he’s horrified to find Maisey and Murielle gone, and he’s never been more afraid. Instead of calling in the department, Cruz and Carter assure him they can do a safer and faster job of finding his girls. They’ve narrowed the suspects down to one man who’s far too slippery, and the clock is ticking. And yet there’s one thing they didn’t take into account.
Never underestimate the tenacity of a crazy ex-wife when her child’s life is on the line.

REVIEW:JUSTICE FOR MAISEY is the ninth instalment in Deanndra Hall’s contemporary, adult BLUEGRASS BRAVERY-Police and Fire: Operation Alpha erotic, romantic suspense series, and the latest cross-over story line with the characters introduced by author Susan Stoker. This is social worker Maisey Kendall, and Deputy Aaron Friedman’s story line. JUSTICE FOR MAISEY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from several third person perspectives including Maisey and Aaron, JUSTICE FOR MAISEY follows in the wake of the murder of a friend and fellow social worker for Maisey Kendall. Arriving on the scene, Deputy Aaron Friedman would comfort our story line heroine, and in the ensuing days would fall head over heals in love but Aaron’s ex-wife is spiralling out of control, and Aaron must make a decision as it pertains to their five year old daughter Murielle. As Aaron and Maisey’s relationship begins to take on a life of its’ own, Aaron’s ex finds herself in trouble; and Maisey becomes the target of more than one irate parent with whom she has had dealings in the past. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Maisey and Aaron, and the potential fall-out as both Maisey and Murielle’s life hangs in the balance.
The relationship between Maisey and Aaron is one of immediate attraction but Aaron’s battle with his ex is about to force Aaron to take control. Maisey, having already fallen in love with Aaron’s little girl, isn’t far behind falling in love with the man in question. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters : Carter Melton (Shelter for Sharla 1), FBI agent Cruz Livingston (Justice for Daesha 4/ Justice for Sloane). We are introduced to Aaron’s ex-wife Bailey, her parents, as well as Maisey’s parents Molly and Chuck. The requisite evil has many faces.
JUSTICE FOR MAISEY is a story of family, love, obsession, and mental illness; a story of loss and grief, acceptance and forgiveness. The premise is realistic and imaginative; the romance is seductive and tender; the characters are energetic, lively and inspiring. JUSTICE FOR MAISEY is another wonderful and emotional addition to Deanndra Hall’s BLUEGRASS BRAVERY series.

Deanndra Hall is a working author living in the far western end of the beautiful Bluegrass State with her husband of over 35 years and small menagerie of weird little dogs. When she’s not writing, she’s editing. When she’s doing neither of those two things, she’s having dinner with friends, spending time with family, kayaking, eating chocolate, drinking beer or moonshine, or looking for something that she put in the wrong place and can’t seem to find (which is pretty much everything she owns).
