REVIEW:A FORBIDDEN LOVE is the third instalment in Jessica Ames’ contemporary, adult FRASER CRIME SYNDICATE dark, erotic, criminal underworld series, a spin off from the author’s UNTAMED SONS MC series. This is nineteen year old Aurelia ‘Lia’ Fraser, and bodyguard Ryan Malone’s story line. A FORBIDDEN LOVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storyline is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Ryan and Aurelia) A FORBIDDEN LOVE follows the building romance and forbidden relationship between nineteen year old Aurelia ‘Lia’ Fraser, and bodyguard Ryan Malone. For months Aurelia’s mother has been struggling to find a ‘suitable’ husband for our story line heroine, a husband with money, connections, power and control but Aurelia wants nothing to do with the men her mother is forcing upon her, so our heroine takes off in search of help. Enter Fraser Crime Syndicate bodyguard Ryan Malone, and the man with whom Lia will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and secret relationship between Ryan and Lia, and the potential fall-out as Lia’s mother demands our heroine’s return, or the family will face the wrath of the ‘Firm’.

Ryan Malone is a bodyguard in the Fraser Crime Syndicate, owing his life to the family in charge but from afar, Ryan fell in love with Lia Fraser, a forbidden love in the wake of the Fraser connections, control and power. In an effort protect their sister, the Fraser brothers assign Ryan Malone as guardian and protector, never realizing our couple had fallen in love. As the Fraser family struggles to stay one step ahead of Charlotte and Anthony Fraser, Ryan must battle between head and heart knowing the brothers believe he is unworthy of their sister’s love.

The relationship between Ryan and Lia is forbidden but Lia has been a virtual prisoner of her mother for mother of her life, and her one chance at freedom may come at a cost of the family and the man with whom she is falling in love. Ryan knows to cross the line could mean the end of his life but Lia is worth every painful threat to protect our story line heroine.The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

The secondary and supporting characters include Lia’s over protective brothers: Lucas and his wife Sariah (Fractured Vows 1), and Kane and Elena (The Ties that Bind 2), Zeke (Bailey/Untamed Sons MC 7), as well as their cousin Gemma; their parents Anthony and Charlotte Fraser, and several men who work for the parental unit.

A FORBIDDEN LOVE is a story of power and control, abuse and betrayal, dysfunctional family values, love and acceptance. The fast paced premise is intriguing and riveting; the characters are energetic and dynamic; the romance is seductive and intense.
