REVIEW: ALLURING ABYSS is the fourth and final instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary adult ROYAL B*STARDS: TAMPA FL erotic, MC romance series-a part of the multi-authored RBMC series. This is former US Special Forces soldier/MC member Rafe ‘Ominous’ Novak, and bar tender/waitress Scarlett’s story line. ALLURING ABYSS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storylines is revealed where necessary.

Told from three first person perspectives (Ominous, Scarlett, Charli) ALLURING ABYSS focuses on healing and acceptance, and the building romance and relationship between former US Special Forces soldier Rafe ‘Ominous’ Novak, and Scarlett. Approximately six years earlier, while on assignment in Kandahar, Rafe Novak, and humanitarian aid worker Charli McEvoy were the only two survivors of a nighttime attack, an attack that took the life of Rafe’s best friends and Charli’s husband Jed McEvoy. Fast forward to present day wherein Rafe Novak aka Ominous, now a member of the RBMC: Tampa FL MC struggles to move on from the past. Nightmares and PTSD threaten Ominous’s tenuous hold on his sanity and the woman that tugs at his heart but an attack against Scarlett finds Ominous defending the woman with whom he will fall in love, an attack that sends our hero behind bars for the next ninety days but all is not well as Ominous begins to suspect he was the target of the attack, and pushes our heroine out of his life. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ominous and Scarlett, and the fall-out as the past refuses to stay buried and gone.

Rafe Novak’s demons run dangerous and deep, buried beneath the facade of a competent and confident MC member. His attraction to, and need for Scarlett is tempered by his nightly terrors and a past that refuses to let go, a past that is determined to destroy our story line hero. Scarlett and Rafe have danced around one another, their attraction visceral and intense but threats against Rafe have become personal, bringing with them the grief and loss of what was.

The relationship between Scarlett and Rafe is one of immediate attraction but Rafe struggles with the memories and nightmares of death and war, nightmares that begin threaten the life of the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate .

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Charli McEvoy and her daughter Oaklyn; the members of the RBMC Tampa MC including Nycto and Eva, Void and Toxin, Dash and Shadow, as well as a ghost from the past.

ALLURING ABYSS is a story of love and loss, nightmares and war, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and guilt, love and acceptance. The premise is heart breaking and emotional; the romance is seductive and hot; the characters are broken but struggling to heal.
