ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 30, 2023

Callum Russo is a meticulous man all about information, leverage, and control. Known only in the most exclusive circles, Callum is the man with the plan and he gets results by any means necessary. That is, until a blonde bombshell walks into his carefully curated life like a pretty, pink wrecking-ball. She has the potential to break through every one of the carefully constructed masks he’s spent years hiding behind.

Lexie West knows who she is and where her life is going. As a plus-size ER nurse working in New York City she thought she was prepared for anything that could be thrown at her. When she trades her travel contract at the hospital for a job house-sitting a luxury penthouse apartment, her only plans are to drink margaritas, try a few recipes, and find a good karaoke bar.

Until one night, when she rounds the corner to find a dangerously attractive giant standing in the penthouse kitchen who claims to own the apartment she is staying in.

She’s seen it all.

But she never could have expected him.

A knock on Lexie’s bedroom door in the middle of the night changes everything. Suddenly, she’s being swept into a world of violence, crime, and influence by a man who solves impossible problems for powerful people. She’s an unexpected wildcard in his perfect game but he’ll do anything he can to have her… by any means necessary.

REVIEW: ? Any Mean Necessary is the debut novel by Lila Herron, and I can honestly say I am so happy to have found this author. Before I even start on this review, fellow readers, check the trigger warnings on this, there is a lot that happens and we don’t want anyone blindsided or uncomfortable.

AMN is an amazing mix of dark romance meets grumpy sunshine trope, enemies to lovers, mafia/medical romance. What makes this book even better is that it’s a plus size female main character, and not one that changes (loses weight) as her relationship with her fella progressive. Lexie is a strong minded, plus-size character that knows her worth and who she is and who isn’t afraid to be just that, herself, her WHOLE self.

Callum is everything a reader could want in an over the top alpha guy. He is dark and brooding, his taste in women is the thicker the better and he doesn’t let anyones opinion on that change his mind. Callum is the hype main for morally gray main male characters. He has a code and he sticks to it, it may not always be what others think is right, but his code is law.

Lexie is a ER Nurse on an extended break, when a tragedy strikes at work, it shakes her to her very core and she needs time to get her head on straight. During this period of time, she takes over house sitting for another traveling nurse that she knows. A simple, no drama job in a sweet penthouse where she can recoup. She should have known it was too good to be true. When Lexie meets Callum it’s instant lust, but she doesn’t want him to know that, Callum however has no issues with sharing with her just how attractive he finds his new house guest.

Callum isn’t your everyday businessman, and Lexie can tell that from the first hello, she just didn’t know just how different his business was. Lexie is now at Callum’s beck and call as his personal nurse, except this gig comes with more than PTO and a sweet pad to crash in. This one comes with bullet holes, broken body parts and more drama than she ever expected.

Callum doesn’t want attachments, but Lexie is changing more than one thing around the penthouse, his heart included. When things finally start getting down and dirty, the spice level is ?, their chemistry is spot on, their relationship is built on more than just sex, they are both caring and protective of one another. Of course, Callum wouldn’t be a man if he didn’t put his foot in his mouth at least once, and boy oh boy when he does…No Spoilers! Just read!

Thank you for the new expectations of men that I know they will never reach Ms. Lila!
