Told from dual first person perspectives (Vesper and Ryder) CAN’T TOUCH THIS follows the building relationship between animal rehabber Ryder Carson, and veterinarian Vesper Fairfax. For six months Ryder has been taking wounded and sick dogs to Vesper’s animal clinic hoping that our heroine will take notice of the man that stands before her. Ryder was instantly attracted to the new veterinarian but his frequent visits appeared to be riling up the feisty doc and each successive visit Vesper’s anger towards Ryder grew more intense and dark. Their back and forth banter usually involved Ryder’s sexual innuendos and snarky come backs in the hopes of breaking down the doctor’s barriers. What ensues are Ryder’s attempts to convince Vesper to take a chance on the man and a possible future.

There is plenty of sexual tension between our leading couple; the $ex scenes are intimate and intense. We learn a little bit about Vesper and Polly’s ongoing friendship, and how Ryder’s started on the path of saving man’s best friend.

We are introduced to Vesper’s business partner and fellow veterinarian Polly Dartford, a woman trying to come to terms with the loneliness when her best friend begins to fall in love; and Ryder’s globe trotting brother Rupert Carson- a man looking for someone to complete his life. CAN’T TOUCH THIS is a lighthearted, romantic comedy with very little angst or conflict from outside sources. There are moments of fun and humor mixed with heartbreaking stories of animals in need and rescues. The premise is enjoyable and entertaining; the characters are colorful and fun; the romance is seductive and provocative.

REVIEW:Reading Colette’s books are what i call a palate cleanser. It’s light/refreshing and you don’t have to worry about spice!

Beatrice is going to stay a spinster forever! After countless disasters with men and the scandals surrounding her mother, it’s made her extremely wary. But that’s not to say she a wallflower, oh no, she’s very independent and spirited.

Cassius only wants to be recognised for his artwork. He has no wish to bask in the notoriety like his twin does! Cassius seems like a really nice guy. He doesn’t want or need his name, and when faced with a moral dilemma, he definitely steps up.

When fate throws these two people together, there is definitely an interest there, but as both have decided to remain single, it doesn’t look like anything is going to happen….

Cassius has been asked to paint a portrait of the lovely Beatrice, her uncle intends to marry her off unbeknownst to her to a rich suitor! So they decide to plan an escape from Brighton to London, and along the way they find their friendship turning into more… But will they seize the opportunity for love? Or will their pasta hold them back?

I really enjoyed this one. Although no steam/spice, the story is a steady paced read, and soon you are engaged and engrossed.

I didn’t care for Beatrice’s uncle (nasty man!) And you have to remember that in this time period, women weren’t allowed freedom, or an option (and Beatrice had a strong belief and opinion.)

If you’re looking for a sweet love story with only a few kisses, then I recommend this one for you to read.

I am hoping the author has plans for future story lines/series involving the Red Demons MC.

FRISCO is a story of power and control, secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, twists and turns, and a few bumps along the way. The character driven premise is captivating, engaging and dramatic; the romance is seductive and heated; the characters are determined, dynamic and aggressive.

D Monz is a world famous musician, and he has attracted the wrong kind of attention for his back stage antics. As a rock star and animus demon, D Monz feeds off of orgasms and $ex, and in this, D Monz is now facing the ire of an angry fan. Enter Firebrand Witch Celie, who has been assigned to protect our story line hero. Constantly needing to feed, D Monz finds himself with a new source of food, the woman with whom D Monz will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Celie and D Monz, and the potential fall-out as the death threats become more dangerous and personal.

The relationship between Celie and D Monz begins acrimoniously as Celie is revolted by D Monz’ apparent us of all the females but D Monz needs to feed regularly, and in an effort to protect the man with whom she will fall in love, Celie offers herself up as lover and nourishment. D Monz is a bit of a manwh*re, and in this, his reputation precedes his introduction to our story line heroine.The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to the members of the band: Riot, Beast and Helms: publicist Lonnie, manager Marko, as well as several groupies and fans.

SOME BACKGROUND: Thousands of years earlier, a powerful group of witches and warlocks, in an effort to protect the human race, divided the world creating three realms: Earth, Scath and Darque. The Blood Coven series focuses on the fight to keep the worlds separated in the face of some powerful people hoping to destroy the people of earth.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Mix and Chloe) THE FIREBRAND’S SHY LYNX follows the forbidden relationship between our story line couple . Chloe is a lynx shifter who has refused her father’s selection for a mate. Overhearing the aggressive nature of Chloe’s potential mate, Mix declares himself guardian and protector over our story line heroine but when Chloe goes missing, Mix calls in reinforcements, and faces a challenge to claim Chloe as his mate.

The world building is fast and furious. Mix is a cocky lion/wolf hybrid mix, and in this, Mix knows what he wants, and he wants Chloe as his mate. Standing up to the challenge, Mix is ready to kill or be killed for the right to claim Chloe as his own.

The relationship between Chloe and Mix is a forbidden affair; an immediate attraction and insta-lust to love, in which Chloe is defiant in her choice for mate,and is forced to stand up to the abusive alpha and his mate. The $ex scenes are provocative and passionate.

The secondary and supporting characters include Amazon Kara,warlock Kilem and wolf shifter Lobo, as well as book store employees Adah and Magda, and Chloe’s mother Horatia.

The relationship between Lobo and Faeth begins as a case of mistaken belief, and in this, Lobo is determined to convince Faeth they are meant for one another but Faeth struggles to trust a wolf whose sexual aggression is over the top but an aggression that will be met by one of her own. The $ex scenes are provocative and erotic.

The secondary and supporting characters include Firebrand commander and jaguar shifter Nace, as well as Faeth’s co-worker and lynx shifter Ravine, and Faeth’s unbending parents.

REVIEW:With Julie Johnstone, you can always rely that a good story waits for you. And this one did not disappoint.

Brus has a huge grudge where women are concerned! Well, I suppose you can’t really blame him.(His mother abandoned him as a baby.) So trust with women doesn’t come easily. And when he’s given the job of guarding a group of highlanders as they pass through this patrol area…..

Grace isn’t a meek and mild young lady! She knows her own mind! But that doesn’t mean a thing in this era! And to top it off, her father wants her to marry her friend! What Grace wants is an equal, she’s wanting passion and fire, and she doesn’t see her friend in that way!

There is an attraction between Brus and Grace, but he’s not going to fall, he’s adamant that it’s a job, and once she’s out of his sight, he won’t think about her again…..Grace is soooooo frustrated with Brus! She knows they would be good together, he just won’t let her in!

And the secret that is brewing between them? (I guessed it practically straight away 😉) it’s going to test both of them!

Can Brus really overcome his hate? Will Grace be the one to help him? Or will it all end on heartbreak?

Good plot, great main characters, and really great secondary characters. Which I’m hoping will get books 😉 the descriptions of the lands had me clearly seeing them, the castle in all its majestic glory. This could have been a series/film. And I would have watched it.

Think Poldark or Outlander (without the time travel)

Another really good historical read. 👍🏻
