REVIEW:  BENEATH HIS VOW is the first novella in Jessica Ames’ contemporary, adult KNOCKED UP AND LOCKED DOWN erotic, MC light series. This is President of the Crimson Sinners MC Casey ‘Preacher’ Callahan, and his wife, PA Lexi Callahan’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Lexi and Casey) BENEATH HIS VOW follows in the wake of the unexpected pregnancy for our story line couple. Lexi and Casey didn’t have plans to start a family so soon but several days of not feeling well, result in a physician’s appointment where our heroine will discover she is pregnant. Casey is overjoyed with the news but life at work is beginning to spiral out of control for Lexi Callahan when a co-worker begins a campaign of harassment and abuse towards our story line heroine.

The world building and relationship between Casey and Lexi are quick to develop as we are up close and personal with an over the top, protective alpha male who suspects not everything is right in his wife’s world. Personal and physical threats against Lexi force Casey to take action,in an effort to protect the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

The secondary and supporting character include Crimson Sinners VP Nitro, as well as Lexi’s co-worker Tasha: abusive boss James, and the questionable head of HR Janice.

BENEATH HIS VOW is a fast paced, quick read; a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, retribution and satisfaction, family and love. The premise is dramatic and engaging; ; the romance is provocative; the characters are desperate and determined.
