REVIEW: BLUE-EYED JACKS is the first instalment in Calia Wilde’s (aka A.R. Case) contemporary, adult SKILLLETSVILLE DESTROYERS MC dark, erotic, MC romance series, a spin-off set in the author’s DESTROYERS MC world. This is Destroyers MC enforcer James ‘Jackson’ Nist, and Kate Weaver’s story line. BLUE-EYE JACKS can be read as a stand alone but there is a prequel novella THE TOWN PRINCESS that introduces some of the players in the spin-off series.

NOTE. Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Jackson and Kate) BLUE-EYED JACKS follows several years, and focuses on the protection and safety of our story line heroine. Approximately seventeen years earlier, Jackson ‘rescued’ Kate, a seventeen year old woman who was forcibly married to the abusive president of the Pittsburgh Destroyers MC, and in doing so set into motion a seventeen year-long vindictive search for our story line heroine, and a hate filled existence for our story line hero. An emergency would pull Jackson back into Kate Weaver’s life, another rescue operation, and a lifelong connection that would ensue. Fast forward to present day, Kate’s whereabouts, have once again, been discovered, and with much more at stake, Kate returns to Skilletsville, and to the man who swore his ongoing protection. Jackson Nist is determined to protect those who cannot protect themselves but something about Kate draws Jackson like a moth to a flame . His need to protect Kate overrules his head but with her arrival in Skilletsville, a seventeen-year feud threatens the only life Jackson has ever known.

The world building is detailed and meticulous, covering seventeen years in which Kate and Jackson spend most of their time apart and in different states, it is only at the most critical and desperate times does Kate reconnect with the man that she loves, a man who is willing to risk his life, his MC, and everything he knows.

The relationship between Kate and Jackson covers approximately seventeen years in which Kate must move forward without the man that she loves, a man that has risked everything to protect our story line heroine. Jackson knows that to claim Kate Weaver means to set into motion a war he cannot win, a war that has been brought to his front door. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of questionable, dynamic and powerful secondary and supporting characters many of whom were introduced in the original Destroyers MC series. We are re-introduced to MC members Sprout, Skinner, Wolf, Hickey, Disney (Walt), National president Nonno, crime boss Giovanni Accardo aka Big G, Pittsburgh MC President Shock, as well as Cara, Zoe, John, and Crystal Ann. The requisite has many faces.

BLUE-EYED JACKS is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, pain and suffering, retribution and love. The detailed premise is dark, dramatic and edgy; the romance is provocative; the characters are broken, determined and desperate.
