I came to the Rush Riders Motorcycle Club to help a friend out, get them out of trouble, and before I knew it, I became a member. Fast women, drugs, whiskey, and fights were all things I expected and was ready for. A young woman walking into the club selling drugs wasn’t. C was everywhere I didn’t want her to be. REVIEW:BLUNTED is the first instalment in the contemporary, adult RUSH RIDERS dark, erotic, MC series co-authored by MN Forgy and TL Sims. This is eighteen year old, florist C.Fields, and twenty-seven year old, Ruch Riders MC member and investor Lincoln Thor’s story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (C. and Linc) BLUNTED follow in the wake of C finding a new place to live, a condo on the outskirts of town, a condo whose only other owner wants C out so he can own it all. Linc is p*ssed that the owners have sold to someone else, and with his mood at an all-time low, Linc begins to target our story line heroine only to discover there is much more to C than he could have ever imagined. With C’s life literally in his hands, Linc begins to suspect our heroine is keeping secrets, secrets that are about to place her in the direct line of fire. What ensues is the building but acrimonious relationship between C and Linc, and the potential fall-out as C’s side business threatens everyone involved.

The relationship between C and Linc is acrimonious at best. Linc wants to buy and renovate the entire condo complex but with a new tenant Linc’s personal life is about to implode. Having followed our story line heroine, Linc will discover that C’s side business places her in the darker regions of town, and her life is threatened on more than one occasion. Wanting to protect C, Linc begins to demand her obedience but Linc continues to struggle with C’s secrets and lies, often treating our heroine in a questionable manner. The $ex scenes are provocative and erotic, and not without some issues of consent and power.

The world building begins to focus on the fight for power and control in a town governed by dealers and drugs, and the Rush Riders MC. Linc is still considered a prospect but his power is much more than someone new to the club. As a businessman, Linc has the ability to make things happen but something is happening in which he no longer has control. Gruff and acerbic, Linc’s attitude is often less than desirable, where as C is often TSTL (too stupid to live).

We are introduced to C’s friends Ben, Parker and Jenna, as well as Linc’s fellow MC members Flynn and VP Billy. The requisite evil has many faces.

BLUNTED is a story of power and control, secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance. The fast paced premise is captivating and intriguing but often switched between telling and showing; the romance struggles in the face of secrets and an imbalance of power; the characters are desperate and determined. BLUNTED ends one a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
