Savage Ending is the fourth and final book in the Savage Series.

•••••••

REVIEW: SAVAGE ENDING is the fourth and final instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult SAVAGE erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on former Green Beret and Walker Security specialist Rick Savage, and architect Candace Marks. The SAVAGE trilogy is a spin-off from the author’s NAKED and Dirty Rich series with the appearance of several characters from the author’s Walker Security series. SAVAGE ENDING should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book three SAVAGE LOVE.

SOME BACKGROUND: Eight years earlier Rick Savage destroyed Candace Marks’ heart when he sent a ‘Dear Candace’ letter while on assignment overseas but what Candace never knew was that Rick Savage was recruited by a covert CIA black ops unit, a unit whose former members are now in prestigious and powerful places in the US government. When a debt is called in, Rick Savage must face the inevitable including the woman whose heart he destroyed.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Rick and Candace ) SAVAGE ENDING focuses on the preparations for Rick and Candace’s upcoming wedding. One week before our couple say their “I dos” another debt is called in and Rick finds himself travelling across country to retrieve a package for a former friend and Green Beret. Meanwhile, Candace has secured a contract to design a new building but for our leading couple, the timing of both events doesn’t sit well. Along with Walker Security specialists Asher and Adam, Rick heads to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on his way to Colorado, as Candace works on final preparations for their upcoming wedding. Prepared for the worse, Rick, Asher and Adam face down an unknown enemy, while Candace continues to worry, that nothing is as it appears to be, including her latest design client.

SAVAGE ENDING nicely wraps up Candace and Rick’s happily ever after but getting there is a little more trouble than either one expected. The premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is spicy and hot; the characters are energetic and wonderful-Asher and Adam are feisty and fun. SAVAGE ENDING introduces another new character allowing the author many more directions for her series of romantic suspense.

I stand willingly in front of Rick, naked while he is not. His gaze is hot, intimate. When his eyes meet mine, he says, “You hesitated.”

“I did not hesitate,” I say, closing the space between us and pressing my hand to his jaw. “I was thinking about the very first time you told me to undress for you. Do you remember?”

Tension slides from his shoulders as if my answer is the exact one he needs, and he wraps his arms around my waist. “I remember that night well.” His voice lowers seductively. “I spanked you.” His lips curve. “And you liked it.”

“Are you going to spank me now?” I dare, so far from intimidated by anything that happens between me and this man. He demands. And I have learned over time that while it defies my strong will and independence in the bedroom, I like when he’s in control.

“Not tonight,” he says, easing me onto his lap so I’m straddling him.

I wrap my arms around his neck and he adds, “All or nothing.”

“All or nothing,” I repeat.

His lashes lower, the lines of his face sharp. “I’m still Savage, Candace,” he says, his eyes meeting mine again. “That part of me still exists.”

“Why are you saying this?” I ask.

“Because this mission, this blast from the past, reminded me of who I am.”

“And you think I need to be reminded?”

“Yes,” he says without hesitation. “You do. You’re about to marry me.”

“I’m marrying the love of my life. And that’s you, Rick. All of you.”

“Love is blind.”

“I know who you are, Rick Savage. And for the record, you can’t deny who you are. Not and live a happy life. And I don’t want you to deny who you are. That’s never been my message.”

“I know that, too,” he says. “But I’ve tried anyway.”

That one statement terrifies me. I’ve tried anyway. It’s like a ball rolling toward a waterfall in slow motion, but eventually, it tumbles over the edge. My hands go to his shoulders, his muscles flexing beneath my touch. “That’s a problem for us. It’s a big problem.”

I try to climb off of him, but he catches my waist with a powerful arm around my body. “It’s not a problem,” he insists.

“No one should marry someone they can’t be themselves with. Every time you think you have to be something you’re not for me, it divides us.”

“I don’t want to be something I’m not with you, Candace. I want to be a better man for you.”

“I just want you to be you.”

“I want to be a better man for me, too. But you know, sometimes some people just need to die, Candace.”

I blink with the sudden shift from being a better man to wanting to kill someone. But that’s the point of all of this. That’s where he was taking me and us.

I’m flying blind right now, unsure about what happened to place him in this state of mind, but I know one thing: Rick is a good man. He doesn’t kill for money or pleasure. “I love you, Rick Savage. Be who you are and do what you do for the right reasons. And you do. Always.”

“Even if it means hunting down a bastard and killing him?”

He says it so matter-of-factly, but I know him. It’s anything but. Someone has made Rick’s personal hit list. There are no names on that list, at least, none that are living. “Can it be after the honeymoon?” I ask, quite seriously.

He laughs and cups my head and presses our foreheads together. “You really get me, don’t you?”

My hand finds his face. “And you get me. Rick—”

I never finish my sentence. I don’t even remember what I was going to say. He pulls me closer and claims my mouth, and it’s a tender kiss, a kiss void of the dominance I’d expected from him only minutes before. I moan with the sensations that spiral through me and just that easily, the air shifts, and our mood darkens, roughens. Suddenly, we are wild, kissing as if we will never again. Touching each other everywhere, and I’m tugging at his shirt. He pulls it over his head and tosses it, and my gaze falls on the heart that says San Antonio in the center, the heart I know he got for me. Because that’s where we met, that’s where he left me and found me again.

My fingers curl on top of it and I whisper, “You really never forgot me.”

“Never,” he says, and as our eyes collide, he says it again, a rasp of emotion in his voice. “Never.” And then he’s kissing me again and I’m touching him and arching into him…

Even if it destroys you.

A harrowing, heartbreaking dark contemporary romance from USA Today best-selling author Marni Mann, the third installment in the Moments in Boston series of stand-alones that explores the darkest nights and brightest dawns of the heart. A book that will leave you aching … and looking over your shoulder.

••••••

REVIEW:You know the tingly nervous feeling you get when you go on a first or when you’re really looking forward to doing something? Well this book is the epitome of that feeling. When Darkness Ends is the third in Moments In Boston series by Marni Mann and can be read as a standalone or in order of the series. The author provides enough information from past books in the series, so reading as a standalone isn’t too bad, as always though, reading a series in order is the best way to go.

Pearl and Ashe are so much fun to read, their story is so emotional and moving. Both main characters are fantastic in their own ways, but together they were even better. The story its self is so emotional, it’s also just a little heavy, it’s not one that you feel light and happy after reading. There are parts of the story that are amazing, the connection between Pearl and Ashe, and Dylan and her Gran, then the darker parts of the story kicks in and it gets down to the nitty gritty. You will cry, prepare for it now friends, this book is going to tear into your heart and leave you wanting more.

Marni Mann has a way of writing that leaves you yearning for more when you finish, WDE is true to this as well. I couldn’t put it down when I started it and WOW! I sent this to as many of my reader friends as I could! Way to go!

Sometimes, romance is (also) hiding in plain sight.

It’s hard to fill out a dating profile when everything you write is a lie. But in her line of work, Lyra can’t exactly tell the truth. And she’s determined to get over the man who broke her heart by moving on, so here she is, lying on a dating app. Then again, so is he.

Lyra is no marketing consultant, but a plucky undercover operator. Marcus isn’t really a videogame designer, but he is obsessive over codes. Both of them are elite undercover agents, and unknown to each other, are each tracking down the same dangerous double agent. As the case heats up, so does their chemistry…but their mutual desire to come clean becomes more impossible with every lie.

REVEW:  THE SPY IN 3B is the first instalment in Nana Malone’s contemporary, adult COVERT AFFAIRS romantic suspense duet focusing on British Exodus agent Marcus Black, and The Firm’s Lyra ‘Adamson’ Wilkinson.Told from dual first person perspectives (Marcus and Lyra) THE SPY IN 3B follows the building romance and relationship between British Exodus agent Marcus Black, and The Firm’s Lyra Wilkinson, only there is a caveat-neither one knows the other is Black Ops agent working opposite sides of the pond. Lyra Wilkinson has been ordered by her superiors to enter into a committed relationship with someone outside of The Firm-enter Lyra’s neighbor-Marcus Black-a game designer by day, a British agent by night. A series of failed attempts to date, and an overlap of assignments figures prominently into Lyra and Marcus’s fledgling relationship but all is about to spiral out of control as both The Firm and Exodus have been assigned the same target. What ensues is the uneasy but building relationship between Lyra and Marcus, and the potential fall-out as secrets are about to be revealed.

The Firm and Exodus were once part of the same Deep Ops group but a fall-out between the original partners led to the break down, and start up of two entirely different Black Ops operations, both doing the same work, but in opposition to one another. Unbeknownst to our leading couple, The Firm and Exodus are about to execute a similar assignment, placing Lyra and Marcus on opposing teams.

The relationship between Lyra and Marcus is one of immediate attraction but both have loved and lost in the past. Lyra feels compelled to obey her superiors but is blindsided when her past is assigned to her team. Marcus knows love and loss first hand, but knows Lyra may be the woman that can free his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to friends and fellow operatives: Roz’s best friend and agent Addie Franklin; their boss Roz, and Lyra’s ex Tyler Warden, as well as Marcus’ best friend and partner Rhodes Matheson.

THE SPY IN 3B is a story of secrets and lies, power and control, attraction, relationships, friendships and betrayal. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the romance is captivating; the characters are energetic and secretive. THE SPY IN 3B ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, in the meantime Nana works out her drama, passion, and sass with fictional characters every bit as sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is.

Dear Roomie (Rookie Rebels 5) by Kate Meader-a review

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 25, 2021.

Reid Durand isn’t here to make friends.

Coming from a legacy of hockey greatness, he has games to win and things to prove. With his focus during his first season as a Chicago Rebel on his drive to succeed, every vice is off the table. No booze, no sugar, and definitely no women.

Kennedy Clark is the master of the side hustle.

She’ll walk your dog, brew your espresso, and pick up your dry-cleaning, all while rocking it in Warrior pose. Standing still is impossible for her, because the moment she starts to slow down, it’ll come rushing back in a torrent. The memories. The pain. The heartbreak.

Their meet-cute is more of a freeze-cute. Besides, they already know each other. He’s the rude, entitled customer at her coffee shop, or what used to be her coffee shop since she just got fired—because of Mr. Extra Shot Americano himself.

Reid didn’t intend to get Kennedy fired.
He didn’t intend to rescue a dog after the poor thing ended up in the lake.
And he definitely didn’t intend to acquire a new roommate.

A curvy, chatty, tempting roommate.
Now this perfect storm of events are about to wreak havoc on his neatly-ordered life.

Reid Durand isn’t here to make friends, and he’s certainly not here to lose his heart to a puppy, a team, or a chaos agent like Kennedy. But then we don’t always get what we want .

•••••••

REVIEW: DEAR ROOMIE is the fifth instalment in Kate Meader’s contemporary, adult ROOKIE REBELS erotic, romance series focusing on the members of the NHL’s Chicago Rebels hockey team. This is twenty-seven year old hockey player Reid Durand, and twenty-five year old barista/ yoga instructor Kennedy Clark’s story line. DEAR ROOMIE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. The Rookie Rebels series is a spin off from the author’s Chicago Rebels series-several characters cross over for back story and cohesion.

Told from third person perspectives DEAR ROOMIE follows Kennedy Clark in the wake of not only losing her home but her job as well. Living out of her car, Kennedy would come to the rescue of a drowning dog only to come face to face with the man she blames for the loss of her job. Enter professional hockey player Reid Durand. Reid, unable to drop the dog off at the pound, offers Kennedy the job of dog-sitting, a job that brings her up close and personal with the man with whom she will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Kennedy and Reid, and the potential fall-out as Kennedy’s time in America comes to a close.

Kennedy Clark is a bit of a free spirit spending many months of the year travelling abroad but the late approval of her working visa finds Kennedy ‘roommates’ with our story line hero, a man who struggles to prove he is worthy of professional stardom. Growing up in a hockey family, Reid has always felt like the odd man left out, having to work harder to prove he is just as good as his brother and the man he calls dad but all is not well in the Clark family dynamic, and things go from back to worse as brother is pitted against brother both in and out of the game.

The relationship between Reid and Kennedy begins acrimoniously as Reid is less than friendly with our story line heroine but not only is Reid a thorn in Kennedy’s side, he also struggles with teammates, friendships, and the people he loves. Reid Durand is petulant, sulky, and often withdrawn but raised to win at all costs, has cost our hero the ability to make friends. Always keeping apart from others, Reid battles between head and heart when he finds himself falling for Kennedy Clark. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting character including several from the original Chicago Rebels. We are introduced to Reid’s step-father Henri, and his brother Bastien, as well as Kennedy’s grandmother, and her senior’s hockey fans.

DEAR ROOMIE is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; a story of bullying and struggle, of acceptance and moving forward. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the romance is seductive; the characters are impassioned and energetic

ABOUT THE BOOK:Release Date May 24, 2021

Terah Crane knows not to tempt the gods. A happy life—or at least an uncomplicated one—involves no gods at all. And since her loving grandfather bought her an Indulgence that exempts her from their service, she can focus on her other problems—the fact that her recent divorce has left her broke, unemployed, and reeling.

Seeking a fresh start, Terah packs everything she owns into her beat-up car and moves to her family’s empty country cottage—never mind that deadly firedrakes occasionally wander into the garden. When an unlikely flood carries a cracked pillar of stone from a nearby shrine right to Terah’s doorstep, it seems the gods demand her service after all.

The man trapped inside the monolith is still alive, and Terah’s reluctant task is to resurrect him, his godkiller of a sword—and his fury for vengeance.

The gods’ awesome powers are matched only by their careless, capricious whims—and vulnerable mortals are often the ones to suffer and die. Now, the gods are watching Terah, making her a pawn in their savage game. Her survival depends upon navigating a new world of peril and treachery, taking up a weapon, and making a fateful move of her own…

••••••

REVIEW: Well that was totally different to what I normally read!

Terah is recovering from a breakup, so needing time and space, she retreats to the family cottage to reevaluate her life. Not knowing that her life is going to change forever….

Adomanei is a busy man, he’s trying to woo a direct descendant of a god, so a marriage is needed between them if they want to rule the land, Nilea is all he thinks about, but being his father’s Hood has him running all over the place!!

Kol is a lesser god (not as high ranking as others!) and after being trapped for centuries, he’s out for revenge! But he needs to bide his time, he needs to gain his strength, so falling back on a descendant to date for him until he is at full power again.

A flood brings Kol and Tereh together, but it’s not a good thing, she’s not suppose to rescue or serve him, she is no one’s slave, but what is she to do?
And when he finally emerges from his stone tomb, (which was beyond stressful for both Kol and Tereh) she’s really for him to strike her down!

That was really good, but you do have to concentrate, and it does flit about a little bit, but once you get use to the rules, the names and who is who then the rest falls into place.

Definitely an author I will be looking forward to reading again.

So the plot…..

Gods are in charge, they have lesser gods under them, and under the lesser gods are the descendants of the gods. These are trained to serve, well you don’t really get much choice, unless you can escape servitude through payment.

Hoods are descendants of gods, these are a little like marshals keeping the peace. But if the god is angry, guess who gets told off!!
Anyway…. Kol centuries ago ran off with another God’s descendant, that Goddess was angry and encased him in stone (but there is definitely more to that story)

Now the stone he is encased in is cracking. Why? You’ll need to read to find out why.
Tereh is then made a Hood so she can look after Kol.

Easy…. Ha!! It’s anything but that!! Poor Tereh then has to navigate the backstabbing/intrigue/double dealing works of the Gods, the Hoods and other humans!! She’s now in charge of caring for Kol, and she’s his voice until he is at full strength.

Focus is very much on the Tereh in this book. The poor human doesn’t know what to think, she’s only trying to get herself sorted after a bitter divorce, and now she’s in the limelight as the favourite of the Crimson God Aran, and she’s the teal Hood for Kol!! If that’s not enough she’s got to navigate the power games people play.

And she’s also being chased by a suitor, and a strange being wants to know all about her!!

Cliffhanger? Wouldn’t really call it a cliffhanger, more of an intro into book 2….

New series? Yes it is, and I’m looking forward to the next book that should be out this year.

Romance? Not much, and at for most of the time I wouldn’t really call it a romance, there is the romance between Adomanei and Nilea, but not much for poor Tereh!

It did remind of a few old films, where the Gods like to move humans around like chess pieces!♟ And there is a lot going on in this book, you do need to concentrate, but saying that it does flow pretty well.

It’s a cleverly thought out book. And very well written.
And I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us.

The elusive vampire has fought for centuries to master his own regrets, and his word will convince the king to value hers. REVIEW: DARKNESS BETRAYED is the seventeenth full-length instalment in Alexandra Ivy’s contemporary, adult GUARDIANS OF ETERNITY paranormal/fantasy romance series. This is vampire/Raven Xi, and werewolf Brigette’s story line. DARKNESS BETRAYED can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from several third person perspectives including Xi and Brigette DARKNESS BETRAYED follows Brigette as she is approached to join a revolution, a revolution against the King of the Vampires but Brigette knows betrayal first hand, and isn’t about to find herself on the wrong side of the fight. Reaching out to the Anasso (King), Brigette is tasked with infiltrating the supernatural group preparing to take down the vampire Styx but she finds herself now partnered with the vampire in charge of Styx’s protection. Enter Xi, and the man with whom Brigitte will fall in love. As Styx and Brigette begin to investigate the who, how and why of the upcoming revolution, the pull between our couple cannot be denied.

Meanwhile, our intrepid gargoyle Levet is sent on a mission of his own. Brigette recovered a series of ancient scrolls once connected to the previous Anasso, and Levet is tasked with uncovering the whereabouts of the source of its’ magic.

DARKNESS BETRAYED is a story of power and control; betrayal and vengeance; retribution, loss, family and love. Alexandra Ivy pulls the reader into a tale of ruthlessness and reprisal for sins of the past, sins misdirected at the Anasso vampire. The fast paced and character driven premise is intriguing and captivating; the slow building romance is fated; the characters are energetic and colorful-it is always fun to watch Levet in action.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 23, 2021.

I’m the wrong guy in the right place the night I steal Tatum Bradshaw from another man. When she mistakes me for her blind date, I decide she deserves a man who shows up on time … like me. Emmett Riley, Mr. Punctual.

Once I confess my true identity and convince her I’m not a creep—just a thief—it’s only a matter of time before my sexy smile and quick wit claim her heart, her hand in marriage, and the perfect life.

Unfortunately, perfection is an illusion, like the promises of our wedding vows. No one can prepare for the unimaginable—the heartbreaking exception to all the rules in life.

When thirty seconds destroys everything, I have to find a new existence and keep my promise to always love our daughter, Lucy, the most.

For Lucy, I will keep a secret, and I will watch my wife drift into the arms of another man.

Given the chance … can I reclaim my wife and the pieces of our life?

••••••

REVIEW:FOR LUCY by Jewel E Ann is an emotional, stand alone, contemporary, adult love story focusing on Emmett Riley, his estranged wife Tatum, and their daughter Lucy.

Told from first person perspective (Emmett) with one chapter from Lucy, using present day and memories from the past, FOR LUCY follows in the aftermath of not one but three tragedies that befall the Riley family. Eighteen years earlier, a case of mistaken identity, finds Emmett Riley falling in love with someone else’s blind date-Tatum Bradshaw. Love, life, and devastation would result in marriage, children then divorce, as Emmett Riley still pines for his wife after all these years. Fast forward to present day, wherein Emmett watches from the side lines as his wife moves on with someone else, knowing if the truth were revealed, life as they know it would never be the same. What ensues is the acrimonious but rebuilding relationship between Emmett and Tatum, and the fall-out as another tragedy threatens to destroy any happiness that has long since been tempered.

FOR LUCY is a heart breaking, emotional and haunting story of love, loss, tragedy and forgiveness. Emmett Riley has never stopped loving the woman that broke his heart but secrets and lies, once revealed, are about to turn the family upside down, once again. FOR LUCY is not a story of romance but a story of second chances and love; of understanding; of revelations; of forgiveness. It is a story of lies meant to protect, of secrets meant to heal. Jewel E Ann pulls the reader into a dramatic and impassioned story of tragedy, consequences, forgiveness and healing

With 10 years of flossing lectures under her belt, she took early retirement from her dental hygiene career to stay home with her three awesome boys and manage the family business.

After her best friend of nearly 30 years suggested a few books from the Contemporary Romance genre, Jewel was hooked. Devouring two and three books a week but still craving more, she decided to practice sustainable reading, AKA writing.

When she’s not donning her cape and saving the planet one tree at a time, she enjoys yoga with friends, good food with family, rock climbing with her kids, watching How I Met Your Mother reruns, and of course…heart-wrenching, tear-jerking, panty-scorching novels.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 25, 2021

These sizzling Seattle firefighters are melting hearts…

Reporter Avery Dearborn hasn’t had the best day. She was filmed fending off a lovesick dog before being rescued from falling flat on her face by none other than her arch nemesis. Seattle firefighter Brad Battle hasn’t changed at all in the five years since she last saw him. He’s still handsome, hot, and charming―to everyone but her.

Brad can’t believe his bad luck to run into Avery, of all people. But to make matters worse, their shared chemistry on screen goes viral. Soon he’s forced to work with her on live TV. The spot will help the local animal charity and make the fire department look good, so who is he to disobey a direct order to cooperate?

Trust takes time, but as Avery and Brad come to realize they are different people than when they first met, anger turns to irresistible attraction, and hard feelings into hot sex. But letting the past stay in the past isn’t as easy as it sounds. And if they’re not careful, they’ll both get burned.

REVIEW:  MAKE ME BURN is the first instalment in Marie Harte’s contemporary, adult TURN UP THE HEAT erotic, firefighter romance series focusing on a group of first responders in the Seattle Fire Department. This is twenty-eight year old reporter Avery Dearborn, and thirty-two year old firefighter /EMT Brad Battle’s story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, and one plot point in particular, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from several third person perspectives including Brad and Avery MAKE ME BURN follows the acrimonious but building relationship between twenty-eight year old reporter Avery Dearborn, and thirty-two year old firefighter /EMT Brad Battle. Approximately five years earlier, Avery Dearborn wanted to make a name for herself in the world of journalism by writing a hard hitting piece about the return of a US Marine from his tour overseas but the star of her report wanted nothing to do with the article or his return as a hero, struggling with the atrocities and losses of friends and Marines. Fast forward to present day wherein the fall-out of the report continues to find our couple at odds with one another, odds that increase when they are forced to work together for the local pet adoption agency-Pets Fur Life. Years of anger transferred as sexual tension and chemistry on camera, but a series of mishaps, and the resulting viral video finds our couple on the receiving end of a positive social media campaign where having to work side by side forces the couple to relive what happened years before. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Avery and Brad, and the potential fall-out as Brad’s demons refuse to let go.

Avery Dearborn never wanted to report about our story line hero knowing Brad was reluctant at every turn but coming from a family of successful journalists, Avery wanted to prove that she was capable of holding her own. Reconnecting with Brad meant having to relive the drama created by her reluctant subject, drama that wuld directly affect her future going forward. Brad Battle has struggled with years of guilt having lost someone he once held dear, and Avery’s demands pushed our hero over the edge. Making sure to poke the bear at every opportunity, Brad began to push all of our heroine’s button, a push that would bring the couple closer together.

The relationship between Avery and Brad is tempestuous at best- an enemies to frenemies to lovers relationship in which our heroine’s attitude is often a contentious point between our leading couple.Avery blamed our hero for her current direction in life but also placed the blame squarely on the shoulders of someone else. At odds with one another, the back and forth vitriol and sarcastic comments barely disguised the thinly veiled sexual attraction between our leading couple. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to several members of the Seattle Fire Department: former Marine Tex McGovern, former sailor Reggie, Air Force Mack, Hernandez, Washkowski, and Marcus; as well as Brad’s brother Oscar; Avery’s roommate and co-worker Gerty; their boss Emil Watts; Brad’s mother Vivienne, and her girlfriend Rochelle; and Avery’s parents Lennox and June King. The camaraderie between the firefighters is fast and furious but is often sexist and immature.

MAKE ME BURN is a story of family, friendships, relationships and loss; a story of love, acceptance, betrayal and expectations. The premise is entertaining; the romance is passionate; the characters are energetic and colorful but struggling with dysfunctional family drama and unresolved childhood issues that control a good portion of their adult lives.
