ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 31, 2017

“I met the boy I wanted. But then he vanished and a new man claimed me instead. My father approved, my colleagues congratulated, and behind closed doors, I was bedded by a stranger.”

Noelle Charlston lived a fairy-tale life: a doting father, a powerful job, and a future blessed with financial security.

However, two meetings with two men changed her happy existence forever. First, she met the boy who made her heart sing. Second, she met the man who made her blood quiver.

Noelle’s freedom was no longer hers. It belonged to the man her father believed was the perfect match. The man who pulled his lies over everyone he touched.
Including her.

Seduced and manipulated, Noelle lives two lives. The one everyone sees on the outside and the one no one sees on the inside. The lies he spins, the truth he hides, the mystery he webs—it’s all enough to slowly erode the woman she’d been and turn her into something else.

Until her past collides with her present.
And it’s her turn to lie.
To everyone…including herself.

REVIEW: CROWN OF LIES is the first installment in Pepper Winters’s contemporary, new adult CROWN OF LIES Duet focusing on heiress and business woman Noelle ‘Elle’ Charlston, and Penn Everett.

NOTE: CROWN OF LIES contains scenes of violence and assault that may be triggers for some more sensitive readers.

Told from first person point of view (Noelle ‘Elle’ Charlston) CROWN OF LIES covers ten years in the life of billionaire heiress Elle Charlston as she navigates the business world for which she is trained. At twelve years of age our heroine’s destiny is mapped out by the only man that she loves; at nineteen, hoping to experience a few hours of freedom in New York, Elle becomes the victim of a sexual assault only to be rescued by a ‘Nameless’ person who demands a few moments of her time. Fast forward three more years and Elle Charlston is now the CEO of Belle Elle- a family owned business passed down through her father’s heirs, and a woman who struggles with the personal side of her life. Unable to forget about the man who ‘saved’ her life, Elle becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth. Enter Penn Everett, a man who demands all that is Elle, but a man so familiar our heroine has difficulty saying no. What ensues is the battle between the past and the present; two men waging war for the affections of our story line heroine; and a darker more sinister struggle for a woman whose naivete perpetuates a series of dangerous encounters, and pathological lies.

CROWN OF LIES is a dark, erotic tale of romance where one woman discovers that the world in which she lives is unlike anything she could have ever expected. A successful business woman who falls into the proverbial rabbit-hole and has a difficult time climbing back to the top. Elle Charlston is a victim of her circumstance that is exacerbated by a father who is caught up in his own problems and thusly is missing the bigger picture. Both father and daughter are manipulated through a series of secrets and lies ; the ramifications of presumptive relationships; and one woman who will be victimized over and over by two men who profess to want the future but a future that entails power and control……but saying that there are some questionable decisions made by our heroine that place her in the direct line of fire where her safety is concerned. Innocent, naïve and too trusting Elle Charlston will become the prey in a game of betrayal, revenge, and winner take all. The premise is dark and intense; the romance is ill-fated: the characters are tragic, hostile and tormented.
