ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 27, 2025

When the board of directors of my company mandated that I go to a wellness facility in small-town Maine to recharge, that shouldn’t have included:

1. Using a ladder to sneak out of the bedroom window at night and going to the local bar.
2. Getting so drunk that the bar owner brought me upstairs to sleep it off in his bed.
3. Waking up staring at the taxidermy moose head on said bar owner’s wall.
4. Falling for said bar owner who was the most drop-dead gorgeous man I’ve ever seen.

But Brock Hawkins was so much more than just the hot bar owner. He owned half the town, built log cabins with his bare hands, and was apparently the most eligible man in all of Meadowbrook.
He was also a cinnamon roll despite his seemingly rock-hard exterior.

And the last man I should’ve been falling for—because my time in this small town was limited.
I had to head back to my life in New York City, one that was the complete opposite from the kind Brock lived.

He was denim. I was diamonds.

The problem was, the sexy lumberjack wasn’t the type of man who was easy to walk away from. Hell, I couldn’t even part with his plaid shirt that had become a constant fixture wrapped around my shoulders most days, let alone think about erasing him from my life. A life with Brock, though, would have to be all or nothing.

Go big or go home.

I just didn’t realize that choosing to go big might also mean getting my heart broken when Brock’s life took a turn neither of us saw coming.

REVIEW: DENIM AND DIAMONDS co-authored by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward is a contemporary, adult, erotic, romance story line focusing on bar owner Brock Hawkins, and business woman February Shaw.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Brock and February) DENIM AND DIAMONDS follows the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. February Shaw designs one of a kind purses, and owns a multi-million dollar company but when the board of directors demands she take a leave of absence, our heroine finds herself at a wellness resort in Meadowbrook Maine, where she will come face to face with her future in the guise of bar owner Brock Hawkins. Refusing to abide by the rules, February manages to sneak out of the rehab facility, and after a night of drinking finds herself in a strangers bed, staring at a wall of animal heads. Brock Hawkins had no idea that the woman asleep in his bed would be the woman that is about to break his heart but as the days and weeks go by, Brock finds himself falling for a woman who is unable to commit. Life is about to send Brock into a spiral, changing the direction of his lifetime plans, and the woman he loves, refuses to sacrifice her plans for someone else.

The world building focuses on choices and sacrifice. Brock Hawkins is falling in love with a woman who is his complete opposite, a woman who thrives in the world of high finance and business deals. February feels out of place in the quiet solitude of Meadowbrook Maine, where everyone knows everyone else but our heroine never expected to fall in love with a man whose entire life revolves around the people and land but Brock is about to discover that his life is no longer under his control, and the woman he loves, struggles to accept the changes in his life.

The relationship between Brock and February is one of immediate attraction but February’s arrival in town is for recovery and relaxation in the wake of professional burn out. Unable to relax, February finds herself looking for a temporary relationship with our story line hero, a man who is about to fall in love with a woman who is unable to commit. Both having been burned in the past, February battles between head and heart, as the man whom she has fallen in love, is much more than the lumberjack who took the time to rescue his girl. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Brock’s brothers Axe, Elvin, Maddox and Trevor; social media influencer Morgan Flowers; as well as several townies and live and work in Meadowbrook Maine; February’s exes Johnathon and Tobias, and Brock’s ex Nina. I hope the authors have plans for Brock’s brothers.

DENIM AND DIAMONDS is a story of country vs big city, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is captivating and emotional;the romance is heart breaking and fated; the characters are determined, broken, and struggling to heal.
