ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 14, 2022
Okay, so I can admit that I have a crush on my ghost roommate/ handyman/ personal pest.
But I have a solution! Instead of dealing with my problems, I’m running off to the founder’s festival where Adam can’t follow me. I might be roped into judging a beauty pageant, but at least I’m not confronting my feelings!
Except when my best friend’s ex ends up murdered at the festival, Adam is determined to help any way he can. Is there any way we can investigate this together without my feelings making things more confusing than the state of his soul?
Follow Layla, Adam and the ever adorable kitten, Bubbles, as they face town gossip, steamy truths, and a beauty pageant to die for.
This is the second book in a trilogy that will be following Layla and Adam as they navigate through nosy townsfolk, inconvenient murders, family members that meddle from beyond the grave and an adorable kitten that has magic in her little toe beans. Prepare for steamy scenes and an HEA at the end of book 3!

REVIEW: DON’T PARTY WITH A POLTERGEIST is the second instalment in Melody Raven’s contemporary, adult CRAVEN MANOR paranormal, romance series focusing on former Chicago accountant Layla Craven.
SOME BACKGROUND: Having recently inherited Craven Manor located in the small but magical town of Ashland Springs, from an aunt she never knew existed, Layla quickly discovers that all is not as it appears to be in Ashland Springs. From magic to mayhem, ghosts and potions, murder and mystery, Craven Manor begins revealing its’ secrets one supernatural entity at a time including a small kitten that may or may not be of the feline variety.
Told from first person perspective (Layla) DON’T PARTY WITH A POLTERGEIST follows in the wake of another murder in Ashland Springs. The Founders Festival is fast approaching and several out of town guests, workers and performers are slowly arriving but the man in charge of stage setup is found murdered within minutes of talking to our story line heroine, and Layla begins an investigation of her own with the reluctant acquiescence of her corporeal housemate. Not only did an innocent party admit to the murder but once again, Layla suspects magic is at play in the town of Ashland Springs. As a descendant of the founding families, Layla is expected to participate in the annual events, a participation that allows our heroine to get up close and personal with real murderer.
Meanwhile, Layla’s relationship with her permanent house guest Adam, quickly turns into something more. Adam struggles to remember events of the past, events that have led our hero to remain in a place he doesn’t belong.
The relationship between Layla and Adam begins as reluctant house mates but Adam is unable to leave, and Layla suspects Adam knows more than he is letting on. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.
All of Ashland Springs townies return including handyman Adam, Layla’s neighbor Poppy, Mayor Dom West and his girlfriend Chessy, Carla and Sophie from Carla’s Café, as well as several visitors to Ashland Springs.
DON’T PARTY WITH A POLTERGEIST is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, desperation and deceit, acceptance and friendships. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the romance is unconventional and seductive; the characters are varied, energetic and captivating.
