REVIEW:FAIR PLAY is the sixth and final instalment in Kat Mizera’s contemporary adult LA PHANTOMS erotic, hockey romance series. This is thirty five year old hockey player Rome Castellano , and twenty-two year old college student Billie Michener’s story line. FAIR PLAY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Billie and Rome) FAIR PLAY follows the forbidden romance and relationship between our story line couple. Billie and Rome met a nightclub days before but neither was aware of the other’s connection. Rome may be in his final year as a professional hockey player, a team enforcer who’s reputation both on and off the ice is fodder for the paparazzi and teammates alike but Rome never expected to fall in love with his teammate’s sister. Billie Michener is working towards her Master’s Degree but her troublesome roommates are threatening her safety and potential future. Moving in with her brother Bodi means coming face to face with a man she met days before, the man with whom Billie will fall in love but Bodi’s only rule is that Billie not date any of his teammates, including our story line hero, a rule that once broken, threatens any future for our story line couple.

The world building focuses on both Bodi and Rome’s struggling careers. Rome is nearing the end of life in hockey while Bodi is battling for a spot on the team. Billie is determined to make a life with or without anyone’s help but her over protective brother is threatening her happiness with the man whom she loves.

The relationship between Billie and Rome is one of the forbidden, threatening friendships and familial relationships in the wake of Bodi’s demands to stay away from one another. The secondary and supporting characters are energetic and colorful. We are introduced to Billie’s over protective brother Bodi, as well as several members of the LA Phantoms, and Rome’s immediate family including mother and his sisters.

FAIR PLAY is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, family and friendships, relationships and love.The fast paced premise is dramatic, edgy and engaging; the romance is seductive and impassioned; the characters are charismatic and determined.
