ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 6, 2025
Forgetting playboy Wells Silver was supposed to be easy. If only he didn’t make it impossible. Secrets are made on the sandy shores and in the sweet small towns of Silver Island, where friendships run deep, passions run hot, and the sexy Silvers are considered island royalty. Love in Bloom novels are written to stand alone and may also be enjoyed as part of the larger series, so dive right in and devour this fun, steamy romance.
Being born into the Silver empire comes with certain expectations, but charming restaurant owner Wells Silver has always taken pleasure in breaking the rules—in his personal and his professional life.
Victoria Braden never expected to become a widow at thirty-two, much less still be trying to figure out how to move on five years later. She’d planned to drown her sorrows in alcohol on what would have been her anniversary, not flirt with trouble and lose herself in a night of passion with Silver Island royalty, playboy Wells Silver. Forgetting Wells was supposed to be easy. But apparently the pushy player didn’t get the memo.

REVIEW: FLIRTING WITH TROUBLE: WELLS SILVER is the first instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult THE SILVERS AT SILVER ISLAND erotic, romance series, set in the author’s numerous Love in Bloom interconnected series. This is thirty-two year old restaurant owner Wellington ‘Wells’ Silver, and thirty-seven year old, entertainment agent, widow Victoria ‘Victory’ Braden’s story line. FLIRTING WITH TROUBLE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Several characters cross over from several of the author’s story lines and series.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Victory and Wells) FLIRTING WITH TROUBLE focuses on the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. Several months earlier Wellington ‘Wells’ Silver met widow Victoria Braden at a mutual friend’s engagement but Victory was adamant she wanted nothing to do with our story line hero. Having lost her husband years before, Victory was not ready to date, and in this, her need to honor her husband forced her to keep her distance from family and friends but most importantly from moving on with her life. Wells Silver was determined to prove Victory is worthy of a second chance at love but our heroine continued to keep her distance, even in the face of falling for our story line hero.
The world building follows several paths including Wells search for a new property to establish another restaurant. Partnering with an unlikely source, Wells finds himself pulled into the aura that is our story line heroine, a woman who continues to give mixed messages in the wake of their ongoing affair.
The relationship between Victory and Wells begins tentatively as Victory struggles to move on from the past. Wanting to keep their relationships a secret Victory is determined to keep Wells Silver in the Friends with Benefits category but the heart wants something different. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
As per Melissa’s style of writing and the numerous interconnected series, families and friendships, there is a large ensemble cast of familiar, energetic and dynamic secondary and supporting characters including both Victory and Wells large extended families.
FLIRTING WITH TROUBLE is a story of grief and loss, family and friendships, relationships and love The character driven premise is richly layered, edgy and fun-the conflict is limited. The characters are sassy and lively; the romance is tender, spicy and playful.
