REVIEW:HOLD ME TIGHT is the second instalment in Jennifer Sucevic’s contemporary, adult CHICAGO RAILERS HOCKEY erotic, hockey romance series, a spin off from the author’s WESTERN WILDCATS HOCKEY. This is professional hockey player River Thompson, and single mother/ baker Callie Westbrook’s story line. HOLD ME TIGHT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Callie and River) HOLD ME TIGHT follows the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. Years earlier, River Thompson fell in love with his teammate’s girlfriend and watched from the sidelines as their relationship imploded. Fast forward to present day, Callie is a single mom, struggling to make ends meet, and River is determined to help the woman with whom had fallen in love. Offering Callie a place to stay, our hero begins a slow seduction of the woman he will soon call his own.

The world building focuses on potential for trouble when Callie’s ex discovers her friendship and relationship with our story line hero but as the saying goes, ‘leopards can’t change their spots’, and when she is face with a decision, Callie must come to terms with what happened in the past.

The relationship between Callie and River is an teammates ex, slow burn, romance in which Callie is struggling to make it on her own. River is determined to both protect and shelter the woman that calls to his heart, a woman who is battling between head and heart. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is another large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including River’s twin sister Willow and her husband Maverick McKinnon (Mine to Take/Western Wildcats 5), as well as teammates; Callie’s co-workers and friends, and her ex Zane.

HOLD ME TIGHT is a story of family and friendships, secrets and lies, acceptance and love. The premise is impassioned, emotional and climactic; the romance is seductive and real; the characters are animated, determined and spirited.
