REVIEW: HOW TO ONE-NIGHT STAND is the first instalment in Mallory Black’s contemporary, adult HOW TO erotic, romance series. This is businessman Jonathan Knight, and PA Kiera Young’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Kiera and Jonathan) HOW TO ONE-NIGHT STAND focuses on the fake relationship between businessman Jonathan Knight, and PA Kiera Young. Kiera Young is tired of the dating scene; the lack of attraction, and the men who only want one thing. With the help of her best friend Kami, Kiera outlines an email about what she wants in relationship and $ex, an email she accidentally sends to her boss. Enter Jonathan Knight and the man with whom Kiera will fall in love. Jonathan Knight has loved and lost, and doesn’t want anything to do with a permanent relationship but Kiera’s email gives Jonathan pause, and offers to help Kiera with her lack of a love life, teaching her how to seduce a man for a one-night stand. Needing a plus-one for his ex-fiancé’s wedding, Jonathan offers up his experience in exchange for a fake relationship with our story line heroine. What ensues is the building relationship between Kiera and Jonathan, and the potential fall-out as their time together comes to an end, and misunderstanding sends our couple in opposite directions.

The relationship between Kiera and Jonathan begins as boss and employee but Kiera’s email allows Jonathan to take their relationship to the next level, a level about which he has been fantasizing since they first met. Kiera has lusted after Jonathan since being hired as his personal assistant but her lack of a $ex life begins to interfere with her thoughts about our story line hero. Jonathan offers to ‘teach’ Kiera about seduction and $ex, and Kiera accepts his invitation to his ex’s wedding. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate.

We are introduced to Kiera’s best friend Kami; Jonathan’s siblings Mia and Nathan; businessman partner Jake Hall, bar owner Ian Brown; and business woman Maya Thompson.

HOW TO ONE-NIGHT STAND is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; secrets and lies; desperation and acceptance; misunderstanding and trust. The premise is encouraging, captivating and riveting; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are charismatic and charming.
