REVIEW: JUST A LITTLE SECRET is the second instalment in the contemporary, adult DARE CROSSOVER erotic, romance series co-authored by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. This is thirty-four year old, attorney Drew Daniels, and twenty-seven year old, charity organizer/fundraiser Georgia Brooks’ story line. JUST A LITTLE SECRET can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line or series is revealed where necessary. The DARE cross over series is interconnected with the authors’ KINGSTON Family, DARE and DIRTY DARE series.

Told from omniscient third person perspectives (Drew and Georgia) JUST A LITTLE SECRET follows the building romance and relationship between attorney Drew Daniels, and Georgia Brooks. Having met at an awards dinner, Georgia Brooks is surprised to encounter attorney Drew Daniels at her bachelor auction fund raiser, a fund raiser wherein her sister will ‘win’ Drew for our story line heroine. A weekend together continues once they get home but Georgia’s mother has focused her sights on someone else for her daughter, and Drew suspects his time with Georgia will eventually come to an end. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Georgia and Drew, and the potential fall-out as Drew must make a decision about his life going forward.

The world building focuses on the ‘secret affair’ between our story line couple, and Georgia’s mother Nina’s determination to marry her daughter to someone of her choosing. Georgia did not follow in her families law business, and as such, her mother considers her daughter less than worthy. To keep face, a suitable mate will be chosen for Georgia, a man with whom Georgia wants nothing to do.

The relationship between Georgia and Drew begins as a short encounter followed by a weekend together in which Drew and Georgia begin to fall in love. Drew tries to keep his distance but upon their return, Drew only thinks about Georgia, and is hoping for something more. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

We are introduced to Georgia’s parents Nina and Roland Brooks; her larger than life sister Courtney, and their mother’s choice for Georgia’s husband Elliott Eastman, as well as Drew’s brothers Beck and Tripp.

JUST A LITTLE SECRET is a story of family and friendships, relationships and love, acceptance and forgiveness. The fast paced, character driven premise is edgy and impassioned; the romance is spicy and flirty; the characters are impulsive, sassy and determined.
