REVIEW:JUST ONE MORE TIME is the sixth instalment in Carly Phillips’ contemporary, adult STERLING FAMILY erotic,romance series set in the interconnected, Dare, Kingston and Sterling Family worlds. This is journalist Aiden Sterling, and Brooke Snyder’s story line. JUST ONE MORE TIME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives (Aiden and Brooke) JUST ONE MORE TIME follows the second chance romance and relationship between journalist Aiden Sterling, and Brooke Snyder. Five years earlier, Aiden Sterling broke Brooke Snyder’s heart, announcing he was leaving for an assignment overseas, and in the interim Brooke never forgot the betrayal by the man whom she had loved for several years. Fast forward to present day, Aiden has returned to New York in the wake of his father’s failing health, and his brother’s scheduled paternal leave but the past has followed Aiden to New York, and hoping to rekindle with the woman who stole his heart, Aiden begins a slow seduction of our story line heroine.

The world building focuses on two plotlines: Aiden’s last assignment has stirred the ire of some dangerous people, and our hero is willing to run to protect the people he loves but having just rekindled his friendship and possible future with our story line heroine, means the possibility of losing everything no matter which way he chooses. Working alongside Brooke at the Sterling Family business, Aiden knows he has to quickly mend the fracture between himself and our story line heroine.

The relationship between Aiden and Brooke is one of second chances: a renewal of friendship and love in the face of his dishonesty years before. Brooke never forgot or forgave our story line hero but Aiden is desperate for forgiveness, and is willing to prove he is worthy of a second chance. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is another large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting including Aiden’s large extended family of siblings Jared, Rex, Remy, Fallon and Noah; their father Alex, and Brooke’s mother Lizzie.

JUST ONE MORE TIME is a story of secrets and lies, vengeance and obsession, family and friendships, forgiveness and love. The fast paced premise is imaginative and edgy but the conflict resolution is too abrupt ; the characters are sassy and lively ; the romance is spicy and spirited.
