REVIEW:  KNOX’S FATE is the first instalment in Delta James’ contemporary, adult SILVER FALLS SHIFTER erotic, paranormal,romance series. This is alpha of the bear clan Knox Wilder, and human Ruby Edwards’ story line.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Knox and Ruby) KNOX’S FATE follows in the wake of the arrival of Ruby Edwards. Ruby’s aunt Lorraine died, leaving our heroine her house located in Silver Falls but something about Silver Falls wasn’t quite normal, and Ruby Edward was about to come face to face with her future. Enter Knox Wilder. Knox is the alpha of the Silver Falls Bear clan, and as such is determined to protect his clan at all costs. Working alongside Ruby as she makes repairs to her aunt’s crumbling home, Knox begins to suspect Ruby Edwards is his mate, a woman whose arrival in Silver Falls sparks an interest from shifters afar. Silver Falls has more secrets than anyone should know, and our heroine may be sitting on top of the biggest secret of all.

The world building focuses on the myth of missing treasure; a town of various animal shifters, their mates, and their inability to trust humans or strangers. Having always kept to themselves, the myth surrounding a missing treasure threatens everyone in Silver Falls but most especially our story line heroine.

The relationship between Knox and Ruby begins when Ruby hires Knox to repair her aunt’s home. Knox knows immediately that Ruby is his mate but Ruby is human, and there are rules and conditions about inviting a human into the supernatural world. Ruby easily accepts the presence of shifter, and will become completely aware of what is happening and why, although she is often TSTL, and her stubbornness threatens her future going forward. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to a large ensemble cast of colorful and supernatural secondary and supporting characters including town sheriff Beckett; Knox’s sister Coco; as well as several local shifters. The requisite evil has many faces.

KNOX’S FATE is a story of secrets and lies, magic and mystery, shifters and greed. The premise is magical and entertaining; the romance is fated and seductive; the characters are desperate and dynamic. KNOX’S FATE ends on a bit of a cliff-hanger, you have been warned.
