Dana

My family are Mafia
A truth I still can’t accept.
A secret I want no part in, one that could get me killed.
My father placed me in Cillian’s hands for protection, or so I’m told.
But his protection feels like prison bars, and I refuse to be his captive.
My Life is unraveling.
My father’s words feel like lies.
And the longer I stay hidden with my bodyguard, the more I see the truth.
Cillian is everything I shouldn’t want, a threat no one saw coming.
I’m in the hands of my father’s enemy, hands that make me ache.
Now I have a choice to make.
A deadly choice.

Cillian

She’s the daughter of Liam O’Reagan: the sheltered Princess of the Irish Mafia.
When her life is put in danger, I make a deal with the devil.
He offers something I want, and I vow to keep his daughter safe.
Safe from the men who would use her to wound her father.
Safe from the secrets she keeps trying to uncover.
Safe from everything—including me.
Until she runs and I have to chase her.
The thrill of the hunt mixed with the scent of her fear and panic is a deadly combination.
I couldn’t resist one small taste.
The King of the Irish Mafia might take my head for touching his daughter, but not before I have his.
IT’S TIME FOR THE KING TO FALL!

REVIEW:MAFIA BOSS is the fourth instlament in Vi Carter’s contemporary, adult YOUNG IRISH REBELS dark, erotic, Mafia series. This is Mafia King Cillian O’Hara, and Irish Mafia princess Dana O’Reagan’s story line. MAFIA BOSS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but for backstory and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order.

WARNING: Due to the graphic nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person persepctives (Dana and Cillian) MAFIA BOSS follows the building relationship between Mafia King Cillian O’Hara, and Irish Mafia princess Dana O’Reagan. All is not well within between the families controlling the Irish Mafia. With threats against his family, Liam O’Reagan enlists the help of Cillian O’Hara, with the protection of his daughter Dana O’Reagan but Cillian’s at war with his own family, and Dana is about to pay the price for sins of the past. Struggling to remain neutral in the face of their growing attraction, Cillian finds himself pushing the boundaries between protector and jailer, as our heroine battles between head and heart in the wake of discovering the truth and deceit about her family and friends. What ensues is the building but tempestuous relationship between Dana and Cillian, and the potential fall-out as our heroine becomes payment for a debt owed, a debt she is about to pay with her life.

Cillian O’Hara doesn’t do favors but our ‘hero’ is desperate to find someone he loves. When Liam O’Reagan demands payment for his help, Cillian struggles with the lies and deceit that are about to destroy his world. Dana O’Reagan had no idea as to her familial connections to the Irish mob, a connection that places our heroine in the direct line of fire. Secrets reveal the truth extent of the lies and betrayal forced upon our heroine by the people she loved, lies that have now claimed Dana as fodder in a war between the Mafia and the Russian Bratva.

The relationship between Dana and Cillian begins as an exchange of duty, an exchange in which Cillian believes he is on the end of a losing battle. His attraction to Dana is forbidden; his only goal is to find the one person that held his heart, a heart he is quickly losing to our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters many of whom we have met in previous instalments including Dana’s brothers Richard and Jack, and their father Liam O’Reagan; their cousin Shay, Lucian Sheahan, several members of the Irish Mafia ‘Jaguars’, and Edward Skinner.

Once again, the world building reveals the brutality, vengeance, power and control of the Irish mob that pits brother against brother, father against son wherein wives and daughters are but fodder to control.

MAFIA BOSS is a story of secrets and lies, authority and rule, betrayal and revenge. The premise is dark, gritty and raw; the characters are dangerous, dynamic, and cruel; the romance is provocative yet flawed.
