REVIEW:MERCY is the prequel novella in Elizabeth Knox’s contemporary, adult RAIDERS OF VALHALLA: NEW BLOOD MC romance series, set in the Raiders of Valhalla MC world co-authored by Elizabeth Knox and EC Land. This is the backstory focusing on thirty-four year old Torsten ‘Tor’, son of RofV president Runes, and clubwh*re Meghan. MERCY picks up immediately after the events of SAVAGE (Raiders of Valhalla MC 10)

Told from dual first person perspective (Meghan and Tor) MERCY follows in the aftermath of an attack against our story line heroine. Upon her release from the hospital, Meghan reconsiders her future with the Raiders of Valhalla MC, a future that now comes with the demons from her past. Meanwhile, Torsten aka Tor is hoping for a chance to claim the woman that calls to his heart but another attack against Meghan forces our heroine to run, keeping a secret from the people she loves.

The world building focuses on healing and acceptance in the wake of betrayal by one of their own. Meghan thought she was safe but the past is determined to control her life, taking back everything she left behind.

The relationship between Tor and Meghan is one of mutual attraction but Meghan is a clubwh*re, and in this, believes she is not worthy of love or her own happily ever after.Tor wants something more including the woman that calls to his heart but something is forcing Meghan to run, and our hero will be heart broken from the foreseeable future. The $ex scenes are passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include most of the club members and couples first introduced in the original Raiders of Valhalla MC.

MERCY is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and control, dysfunctional family dynamics, love and loss. The fast paced premise is entertaining; the romance is seductive; the characters are broken and dynamic. MERCY on a bit of a cliff hanger-you have been warned. Tor and Meghan’s story continues in MANIC.

Meanwhile, Brick’s friends Lashes, has been missing for close to three months, believed to have been abducted by human traffickers, and word comes through that Lashes may be on the auction block in Riohacha,Colombia. With Imani by his side, and the Reaper’s Rejects MC protecting their backs, Brick and Imani go on the offensive in an effort to reclaim that once was lost.

The world building follows Brick and Imani as they journey across country in an effort to stay one step ahead of the people taking aim at our story line heroine but everything is spiralling our of control back home, and Imani is caught in the middles of a war for control.

The relationship between Brick and Imani begins as protection in the face of threats against our story line heroine. Brick is determined to protect Imani with his life while Imani is determined to protect Brick with her own. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The colorful and determined secondary and supporting characters include the return of several members of the Reaper’s Rejects MC: Python and Astra, Razor and Oakleigh, Amara and Dante, Boulder and Kelsey, Rooster, Lashes, and Compass, as well as a number of human trafficking survivors. The requisite evil has many faces.

BRICK’S RETRIBUTION is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and relationships, acceptance and love.The character driven premise is fast paced, dramatic and intriguing; the romance is fast and furious; the characters are energetic and charismatic.
