ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 30l 2025
In a house full of rules, the only one they can’t follow… is staying away.
Jesse Thorne
Local hero, firefighter, loner, and now grumpy landlord. She wasn’t what he expected. His new tenant is a walking disaster wrapped in sunshine, breaking every rule he sets and driving him insane. Controlling her?
Impossible.
Ignoring her? Even harder. And he’s not sure he can stop it. She’s under his skin, melting his frozen walls, and making him question everything—including his stubborn heart.
Casey Lawson
Roamer, IT specialist, current tenant, and golden ray of trouble. Her new landlord is a thorn in her side with his never-ending house rules.
He’s always there when things go wrong—rescuing her with his strong arms and that sexy, smug smile. Breaking down her defenses, one gesture, one growl at a time. They love to argue, but the chemistry between them is undeniable.
And when they give in, it’s explosive. Can they escape the fire without getting burned?

REVIEW: My Favorite Hero is the third installment in the My Favorite series by the ever lovely Melanie Moreland. Each book in the series can be as a standalone in the interconnected series, but as always I do recommend reading them as is to get the most out of the story.
Jesse is a firefighter, but also the new town hero, but unlike most town hero’s he’s grumpy and anti-social. Casey is an unconventional computer coder who lets her wandering spirit take her wherever it deems she should be. They are as different as different can be, but end up as neighbors/roomies due to a misunderstanding that neither of them can resolve. They each annoy the other in one too many ways, but at least their pets seem to get along.
Trying to make the best of a crappy situation, Jesse and Casey agree to make things work, even if they can’t stand the other in large douses. Slowly however as Jesse rescues Casey from one misfortune after another, he can’t deny that he wants to see more from his unusually quirky roommate. Casey too slowly starts to warm up to Jesse, and soon they are giving into their off the charts chemistry. With an agreement in place of friends with benefits, Jesse and Casey enjoy the company of each other and their fur-babies. Soon however, they are both wanting more from each other, but who will make the first move?
I love a good grumpy-sunshine romance, mix in small-town vibes and I am in heaven. Ms. Melanie writes some of the best cozy reads and I am never left with an unhappy review when finishing. Shout out to Miller and Barney for making their parents so happy.
