REVIEW:REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE is the seventh instalment in Annie Rains’ contemporary, adult SWEETWATER SPRINGS romance series. This is veterinarian Dr. Chase Lewis, and boutique owner Sophie Daniels’ story line. REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Sophie and Chase) REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE follows the rekindling romance between former high school sweethearts veterinarian Dr. Chase Lewis, and boutique owner Sophie Daniels. Years earlier, at the age of eighteen, Chase and Sophie had planned a weekend mountain climbing but Chase backed out, and Sophie found herself in months of rehab following an accident that left our heroine clinging to life. Fast forward to present day wherein Chase, now the town’s new veterinarian, has returned home, and is hoping for a second chance with the woman he still loves but Sophie Daniels struggles with memories of the past, and continues to blame our hero for what happened years before. An injured puppy will bring our couple together but issues of trust and the battle to forgive will find Sophie and Chase at odds, once again. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Sophie and Chase, and the potential fall-out as a favor for a friend places our couple in a position that threatens their continuing issues of trust.

The relationship between Sophie and Chase is one of second chances. Former high school sweethearts torn apart by the immaturity of love, and Sophie’s inability to move on from the past. Chase was not to blame for the accident suffered by our story line hero but Sophie’s need to blame someone made Chase the perfect target for her misplaced anger and shame. There are no $ex scenes; the kissing is chaste; the romance is implied.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Chase’s sister-in-law Trisha, and her son Petey, both of whom are struggling in the wake of Chase’s brother’s white collar crimes; Chase’s new clinic assistant Nadine, and Comet, who is the perfect foil for a rekindling romance.

REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE is a story of family and friendships, second chances and love. The premise is sweet and heart warming; the romance is chaste; the characters are animated and flirty.

There had been no official relationship development, only a few hours spent in one another’s company following the wedding of Bo’s ex to his best friend, but our heroine took Bo’s disappearance personally, and struggles to forgive and forget.
