REVIEW: SAVAGED SURRENDER is the introductory novella in Jennifer Lyons’s contemporary, adult SAVAGED ILLUSIONS erotic, romance series focusing on the sexy rock band of the same name. The SAVAGED ILLUSIONS series is a spin off from Jennifer’s THE PLUS ONE CHRONICLES. This is security specialist/ wannabe chef Ethan Hunt, and bakery chef Ana Kendall’s story line. You do not have to have read the Plus One Chronicles to understand the concept of Savaged Surrender although I recommend reading the original series for the enjoyment.

Told from dual third person points of view (Ana and Ethan) SAVAGED ILLUSIONS is a story of second chances. For seven years Ethan and Ana were best friends dancing around their attraction to one another but never crossing the line between friendship and $ex. Ethan struggling with his past, as a former MMA fighter destroyed by a cheating scandal, finds our hero the newest security specialist for the rock band Savaged Illusions, and heads out on tour leaving a heartbroken Ana Kendall behind. Eleven months later Ana will re-enter Ethan’s life- a changed woman who knows that if she cannot have Ethan Hunt as her happily ever after, she will take him for one night only-no string attached. What ensues is the rekindling of a friendship that leads to love but a friendship that is threatened on both sides of the relationship.

The rekindling relationship between Ethan and Ana is one of second chances. Ana has loved Ethan for as long as she can remember but the two have never made any commitment to a future together, and have never proclaimed their love for one another. Eleven months earlier Ana and Ethan shared a kiss to remember but our hero walked away without a backwards glance. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense with a little bit of the erotic factor.

We are quickly introduced to several band members from Savaged Illusions, as well as Ana’s best friends Franci and Chelle, and her step-mother Linda. The requisite evil comes from two different directions including a man determined to use Ana for a future book deal, and a celebrity chef named Siena who wants Ethan for herself.

SAVAGED SURRENDER is a sexy and spicy story of romance about two people who have loved one another for years. The premise is an energetic and entertaining; the characters are passionate and animated; the romance is steamy and provocative.
