REVIEW: SILVER DOLLAR is the second instalment in Lyz Kelley’s contemporary, adult SILVER FOX RESORT over 40 romance series focusing on the Foster siblings. This is forty-two year old, fitness instructor Samantha Foster, and fifty year old tech developer Blake Wise’s story line. SILVER DOLLAR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

SOME BACKGROUND: Following the death of their father, the Foster siblings inherited the run down Silver Fox resort. Working together, Zoey, Cade, Samantha, and Steel endeavor to bring the family back together, and redesign a world class getaway vacation spa and fitness centre.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Blake and Samantha) SILVER DOLLAR follows the building relationship between forty-two year old, Samantha Foster, and fifty year old Blake Wise. Samantha Foster is a paraplegic having lost the use of her legs following a devastating accident nineteen years earlier. Always independent Samantha finds herself on the defensive when millionaire tech developer Blake Wise offers to test the company’s newest robotic, a robotic her late father paid for and contracted. Having been forced by his partner and brother to take some time off, Blake spends a romantic week with our story line heroine only to be called home for a family emergency. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Blake and Samantha, and the potential fall-out as Blake must come to terms balancing his business, his family and his personal life.

Blake Wise is a care-taker since his brother’s accident he blames on himself. As the CEO of 3D Robotics, Blake is hoping Samantha Foster is the best candidate for their new exoskeleton but our heroine’s immediate refusal finds Blake at an impasse including his future with the company his brother is hoping to sell. Samantha Foster is a fiercely independent, single woman who struggles to accept help from family and friends. Falling for Blake Wise spirals out of control when problems back home pull the man with whom she is falling in love, out of her life for the foreseeable future.

SILVER DOLLAR is a story of family and friendships, independence and disabilities, romance, love and happily ever after. The premise is sweet and engaging; the characters are energetic and colorful.
