ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 26, 2023

Life changes in the blink of an eye.

One minute my best friend from childhood is alive and well and the next minute he and his wife are gone.

One minute I’m a single guy looking for fun, and the next I’m responsible for two little boys.

With those two little boys comes Mila, the aunt refusing to be cast aside although she wasn’t named their guardian. Secrets in my friend’s life come to light and with them danger and expectations from a very volatile motorcycle club.

I’d never leave the kids in that situation, the pawns in a retaliation scheme, but with them comes her .With her comes the reminder of the night we spent together three years ago and her own set of secrets she never thought would be disclosed.

REVIEW: STORMY is the twenty-ninth instalment in Marie James’ contemporary, adult CERBERUS MC romantic suspense series focusing on the members of the Cerberus MC- all former members of the US Marines. . This is former US Marine sharpshooter Vincent ‘Stormy’ Chilton, and single mother Mila Taylor’s story line. STORMY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. For fans of Marie James, there is a slight cross over with the inclusion of several characters from the author’s Blackbridge Security series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Vincent and Mila) STORMY follows in the after of the murder of Vincent ‘Stormy’ Chilton’s fellow US Marine Carlen and his wife Janet Clarke. Attending the funeral, Vincent will come face to face with Janet’s sister Mila, Vincent’s one-night stand from three years earlier but all is not well when Mila and Vincent will discover there is more to the murder than a random shooting, and as the appointed guardian to Carlen’s two surviving sons, Vincent knows it is time to bring Mila and the children back home where they belong. Mila Taylor is struggling with secrets of her own, and within a matter of hours, Vincent will discover that not only is he the sole guardian of two orphaned boys, but the father of a two year old daughter he knew nothing about. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Vincent and Mila, and the potential fall-out as the past refuses to let go, targeting Mila and the boys in the process.

The world building focuses on secrets and lies, and the protection of the new charges under Vincent’s care. With his new family in tow, Vincent embarks on a journey of several days, a journey that reveals more than he could have ever imagined.

The relationship between Vincent and Mila began as a one-night stand in which, Vincent had thought Mila would have made some form of contact. Mila had been struggling to support the child Vincent knew nothing about but with two more mouths to feed, Mila had reached rock bottom, and feared losing them all. As Mila and Vincent’s time together appeared to be more stable, the Cerberus MC round the proverbial wagons to protect the people they now called family and friends. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including several members of the Cerberus MC and their significant others; several agents from Blackbridge Security, as well as Mila’s nephews Luca and Jace, and her mother Mrs. Taylor. The requisite evil has many faces. Oracle’s story is next.

STORMY is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, crime and punishment, forgiveness and love. The fast paced premise is enjoyable and dramatic but the conflict resolution was too quick and without any significant problems; the romance is fated and seductive; the characters are desperate , determined and dynamic.
