REVIEW: I read previous books from this author and loved them (Wedding Planner Series 👍🏻 and a real favourite of mine Mind Sweeper series 👌)

I wasn’t going to read this book, I was just going to dive into book two. But the author advises that it can be read on its own ok, but there is an ongoing story. So I’ll start with this one….

This author weaves a spell so enticing, that you don’t want to come out….

Getting pregnant wasn’t on Megan’s plan just yet! And certainly not by some random guy! But she’s staring at a test that states otherwise! What’s a girl to do? Does she inform the guy? Or does she raise it on her own?

Eric doesn’t remember the human who now informs he’s going to be a daddy? (We do find out in the book as to why he forgot her!) But it’s not a great start!!!

I did like how adaptable Megan became. I loved her lists that she mentally drew up for herself.

Eric took a little more time to warm up to. He wasn’t looking for a mate or a baby! (But when he finally comes round 😉

His character is a loyal dragon and he’s a good tactician (which he’s going to need)

Best friend Tessa was a riot! So funny. Her one liners had me laughing at all the wrong moments (train ride/bus journey) Eric’s sister Sienna was a great character too. And don’t forget the Dragon clan 😜

So will this pair take on raising a family together? Or will the dragon war pull them apart? Is it even possible for them to be together? (Does the world know about dragons?)

As I said at the start, the series is made up of standalone books, but it’s advisable to read in order. And I can totally see why. There is the story that starts here, and I’m sure it’s going to continue for a few more books.

The story flows well and we aren’t bombarded with useless information (or page filling! *pet peeve 😜) We even have a character that may or may not be a villain 😉 but to find out your going to have to read the book.

I can’t wait to read the next story in this new series.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 14, 2024

Tessa Stuart is all about protecting her best friend. But her BFF Megan is married now. She should be able to drop her protective instincts, right? Except Megan’s husband is a dragon shifter. Yep, dragons. Apparently, dragons are losing their powers because of a curse set in motion by evil witches. Yep, witches. So much for taking a step back… Instead, Tessa jumps in with both designer clad feet. With a few white lies, she convinces the private investigator looking into the curse to let her help.

A great plan until she realizes he isn’t who or what he says he is.

Ben Wells doesn’t remember anything about his past. Even his name is made up. The only clue he has is a bag full of money and two names on a piece of paper. Setting out to find the truth, he doesn’t expect to have a gorgeous and determined woman mistake him for a private investigator. Who is he to correct her, especially if working with her can lead him to the truth about his past?

A great plan until he realizes she isn’t who he expected her to be.

As their lies unravel, they both must face the truth, even if it’s ugly. Is Ben ready to embrace his past if he hates what he discovers? And instead of protecting her friend, the dragon clan, and her heart, did Tessa accidentally invite the enemy closer?

REVIEW: Book two of this new series, and we catch up with Megan’s best friend Tessa. (Megan was in book one Dragon Kissed) Tessa was a great friend and character, so I was excited to find out she was in this book too.

If you’ve read the blurb then you’ll discover not only dragons in this book, but witches too! They play a pivotal role in the series, luckily we get a quick catch up in this book, (but I’d recommend reading the first book before grabbing this one.)

Tessa is fun loving, go getting and a fierce protector of anyone she loves. She’s also tired of men making the wrong assumptions about her (yes, she might have been a model, but she’s got brains and integrity, not a pushover!) In her role of protector, she becomes aware of a few things, so she turns detective in order to get her best friend and new family. Coming to terms with the knowledge that Dragons and witches exist, was a little daunting at first, but seeing Megan and Eric together has made up for any lingering doubts Tessa had.

Ben was found wandering…. covered in 🩸 and having no memory of who he is/was/might have been!

It’s been over a year since he was taken in and cared for, and Ben still has no recollection of who he is! (His rescuer named him Ben!)

But Walter has a secret, and it’s going to change Ben’s life…. for the better? Who knows! But armed with an address and a name, Ben is going to hopefully get the answers he needs!

Twists and turns keep this book flowing. No page fillers, no unnecessary information to keep you from a gripping story. In fact I couldn’t put it down until I was done!

The pair find themselves working together (and maybe a little confusing on who they actually are!?) and along they way they discover themselves and what they could mean to one another.

But can the secrets that Ben and Tessa reveal keep the couple together? Or will fate hand them another twist that will cause more heartbreak?

There is an OMG moment (or two 😉) there is one liners that you will be desperate to say 😜 and intense moments that will have you gripping your kindle.

We also get (possible) information on the next book 🤞and where the story will go next.

We get to catch up with Eric and Megan. Spend time with Sienna (Eric’s sister) and ponder on Marcus 🤔

If you want to know more about these characters and the situation that they find themselves in, grab it and immerse yourself in a story filled with paranormal beings, a curse and one or two HEA’s 😜

Review:

Demons Are Forever by AE Jones is the 3rd Book in her The Realm series.

Oooooooh a long lost brother ?

Sergei is the youngest demon in the Chesnokov family. I’ve heard of him, but not much has been said. And unlike his brothers Misha and Aleksei, he has no demonic abilities. So to prove himself, Sergei leaves the compound and makes a life for himself taking photos and learning to accept his lack of abilities. But in doing so, he has lost touch with with family, he doesn’t know what’s going on, and when he gets an urgent message from his grandmother to come home, he is not sure what to do.

But family wins, and Sergei goes home. He finds out that his brother had been kidnapped and being held hostage in the demon realm.

Lela is a realm demon, but unlike most of her kind, she is extremely powerful (she can give the demons and extra boost to their powers) and is being taken advantage of, every time someone touches her, it drains her, and now it’s almost killing her …..

And when they first meet, it’s not exactly a welcoming committee, his brother is being held a prisoner, and a battle almost ensues. But peace prevails and the demons start negotiations to release Aleksei and to come to earth.

Sergei is introduced to Lela, and they start talking (his brother tells both of them their secrets) and after Lela realises that Sergei can’t hurt her, they start talking.

Lela is fascinated with the demons that have come to visit, she’s eager to visit earth. And it’s nice not to have to worry that if Sergei accidentally touches her, it won’t take her energy.

Sergei is impressed with what his family are trying to accomplish, moving demons from a horrid realm to earth. But he’s also ashamed that he hasn’t kept up with what the family are doing, and he feels he should be helping, but how can he help when he feels useless! But the only plus to this trip is Lela, it’s a nice addition, she doesn’t look at him as a null (a demon who has no powers)

Lela finally gets her chance to come to earth, she’s very excited, but apprehensive, what will happen if someone touches her ? Will it feel worse in a different realm ? But she’s getting lessons in keeping her energy to herself, Sabrina is teaching her ( she’s doctor is in previous books)

So …. do Lela and Sergei get together? Will Sergei ever reconcile with his family? Will Lela control her energy ?

I love AE Jones, and I’ve read everything she’s written so far. Her witty one liners are great. The story she tells is unique, and her description of both earth and the realm is spot on. The characters are just amazing, and I’ve enjoyed reading about them.

Demons are a Girl’s Best Friend by AE Jones – a Review

Demons are a Girl’s Best Friend by AE Jones – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / iTunes

Description:
Aleksei Chesnokov is one busy demon. Between leading the immigration team to bring realm demons to earth and preparing to one day succeed his father as clan leader, his priorities and current project plans do not include finding a mate.

When his clan is attacked by the very demons he’s trying to help, Aleksei must enlist the help of Naya, the leader of the realm guard. A strong, determined, frustrating female, she challenges his decisions and acts before she thinks.

As they work together to stop an impending war, Aleksei is drawn to Naya and the world she protects. When she’s taken hostage, Aleksei will move earth and the realm to save her. Because with all his agendas, checklists, and timelines, the one thing Aleksei never planned to do was fall in love.

Review:

Demons are a Girl’s Best Friend by A.E. Jones is the 2nd book in her Realm series.  Now if memory serves me correct, we first meet Aleksei in her previous Mind Games series.

He’s brother to Misha (hero in the last book) and he is the next in line to be clan leader to a group of demons when his dad stands down. And in the mind series games he was chosen to head up the migration of realm demons to earth.
So he is really busy, he likes the pace and responsibilities, he relishes a challenge, and the realm demons coming to earth certainly do that (some of the realm demons don’t want to come to earth, they don’t trust the humans or the “other demons”, and the demons that live on earth, don’t exactly want the realm demons coming here either) he works closely with the Kyle and her team to make sure peace is upheld and nothing goes wrong.

Well it does …..

Naya is a realm demon, but she can cross to earth via portals (we met her for the first time in the mind game series) she is a warrior, a fighter and a damn good one. She is helping to keep the peace in the realm, trying to get all the demons to come to earth.

Long ago Realm Demons were banished from earth and the descendants no longer remember why. But now they are being given a chance to come to earth and live a better life. But someone is trying to stir up trouble, fights are breaking out …..
And the team are trying to keep the peace on both sides.

Everyone thought that Misha and Naya would be together, but there were signs in the previous books that there was a love/hate relationship between Naya and Aleksei (well more of a hate/dislike)
Their one liners are funny, and when the realisation that they like each other hits, then it’s denial all round.

So who is trying to sabotage the migration?

What do they gain ?

As always AE Jones has done a fabulous job of pulling me into this world. Her one liners are great, her characters are very 3dimensional, and her work as always was spot on.

Roll on Sergei’s book ?

Review:

In Demons Will Be Demons, I was hoping to read Misha’s book,  in this spin off series (The Realm) by AE Jones, and happy that is was; ? so a bonus.

Misha was Kyle’s loyal friend and demon. He helped her (yes Kyle is a girl) solve many cases in previous books.

He works for the Bureau of Supernatural Relations, and enjoys the job, but with this new assignment he thinks he may finally get a mate and a happy ending…..

He had found a demon he can finally settle down with (yes he’s been married 3 times, but this one is for keeps)

But he gets tongue tied around her, so he has to wait for the perfect moment to show this female that she is the one for him.

Callie had a relationship with a demon, and reading it, I got the distinct impression it wasn’t a happy one. And now she has twin boys to bring up on her own, and to make matters worse they are half demon with powers (they don’t usually come into their powers until their teens) so keeps no them safe and hidden is Callie’s priority. But she needs help from the bureau to keep the boys safe and to help them control their powers.

So Misha has the hots for a female demon and Callie has her interest firmly set on helping her boys, so I don’t see how Misha and Callie get together…..

But something happens that makes Misha look at Callie in a different light.

And Callie knows Misha has the hots for the female demon, but there is something special that just ticks all of Callie’s boxes, but as far as Callie is concerned, Misha just sees her as the twins mother.

The story line like the previous books are very well written. The characters are funny and flow easily.

I loved reading the mind games series, and this book followed them without missing a step.

Yes you can read this one without reading the previous books, but it gives you more background on the other characters in the previous books.

So how will Misha and Callie cope with twin demons, and will they get their happy ending ? Well ….. you’ll have to read it to find out ?
