He’s a blue-eyed villain. As charming as the Devil himself, and just as dangerous. A predator made to seduce. And I fell right into his trap.
I’m a mafia princess, sister to the ruthless king of the Sinacore crime family. Ruthlessly overprotective, that is.
With the recent murders involving the heads of several criminal organizations, my brother amps up security, making decisions that stifle my already insignificant personal life.
So when he sends me away for my own good, I see the chance, and flee. I run as fast as I can from my gilded cage, straight into the trap set by our greatest enemy. Gideon Black.
I’m his captive now. Something to barter with. Something to play with.
Now instead of a gilded cage, I’m held in one made of brutal seduction and dark promises. The more I fight the desire he stirs in me, the hotter our fire burns. My walls are crumbling faster than I can build them, and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to resist the temptation before I can escape…
or if I’ll surrender to the sweet torture and become a willing victim of the Ferryman.

REVIEW: BRUTAL KING is the seventh and final? Instalment in Aidee Jaimes’ contemporary, adult THE SEVEN DEADLY SINACORES dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. This is Gideon ‘The Ferryman’ Black, and Sofia Sinacore’s story line. BRUTAL KING should not be read as a stand alone as it is the culmination of the previous six instalments. The events of BRUTAL KING cross over with, and run parallel to the events of several of the previous instalments, revealing some of the back story behind The Ferryman’s journey of revenge.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
SOME BACKGROUND: All is not well in the criminal underworld- several of the men in charge of the most powerful families in America have been murdered, and there is a connection for all to a murder from the past. The survivors, headed by Luca Sinacore, have formed a group known as the Sinacore Alliance, in an effort to take down the person(s) responsible for the death and destruction of family and friends.
Told from several first person perspectives (Gideon, Sofia, Luca, Scarlet, Carina) BRUTAL KING focuses on the relationship between Sofia Sinacore and Gideon Black aka The Ferryman. Sofia Sinacore dislikes following the rules, and in an effort to protect his younger sister, Luca Sinacore takes charge, and transfers Sofia to a university across the country but Sofia, TSTL, thinking she is not a target, runs from the man in charge but all does not go according to plan when Sofia becomes a prisoner of The Ferryman, a prisoner to be used as a pawn for control and power. Gideon Black never expected to find himself in ‘possession’ of the youngest Sinacore and makes Sofia an offer she cannot refuse-frreedom, but at a cost. As The Ferryman continues his pledge to take down the men who killed his father, the past comes full circle as Gideon must face the man who started it all. Betrayal comes at a cost, and Gideon must choose between his life and the life of the woman he loves.
The world building crosses several story lines, as the reader is up close and personal with The Ferryman’s need to avenge the death of his father but all is not as it appears to be as Gideon begins to fall for the woman who has stolen his heart. As Gideon’s second in command falls for one of her targets, Gideon must come to terms with the reality of what is happening and why.
The relationship between Gideon and Sofia begins as jailer and prisoner but Sofia is a prisoner in a gilded cage, a cage that holds more secrets than she could have ever imagined. When Gideon offered Sofia her freedom, our heroine battles between head and heart knowing her future belongs to the man with whom she has fallen in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and determined secondary and supporting characters many of whom we have me in the previous instalments including Luca and Carina, Gavin and Andie, Scarlet and Rowan, Arran and Skye, and Noah Esposito. We are introduced to Gideon’s majordomo Henry. The requisite evil has many faces.
BRUTAL KING is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, madness and murder, power and control, dysfunctional family dynamics, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is twisted, dramatic, dark and gritty; the romance is fated and edgy; the characters are desperate, dynamic and controversial.
