REVIEW: ALPHA’S VOW is the third instalment in Delta James’ contemporary, adult COPPER CANYON SHIFTERS erotic, paranormal romance series. This is wolf shifters Sable Morse and Bryce Savage’s story line. ALPHA’S VOW can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives (Sable and Bryce) ALPHA’S VOW follows in the wake of the decimation of Sable Morse’ pack. While herding the wild mustangs, the wolf pack was attacked by an organized group of hunters, wiping everyone out but our story line heroine. Vowing revenge, Sable rebuilds and reengages her life, all the while, on the hunt for the men responsible but a one-night stand finds Sable mated to bronc rider Bryce Savage, a mating of which she did not approve. Refusing to be claimed, Sable continues her search for the hunters, reluctantly accepting the help of the men at Copper Canyon Ranch. As Sable continues to push Bryce Savage away, their mating link is a constant pull towards a happily ever after.

The world building focuses on the accidental mating and claiming of our story line heroine. Sable refuses to accept Bryce as her mate, as she desperately hunts for the men who killed her pack. One by one, Sable takes down the men responsible, only to discover that revenge is not always as sweet as she thought it would be.

The relationship between Sable and Bryce is one of immediate attraction; an accidental mating in the heat of the moment, and the struggling but building love between two people whose lives are converging in more ways than one. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

We are reintroduced to Colt Savage and his mate Briar: Landon and Dakota, as well as Rush, who all pitch in to take down the wolf pack killers. The requisite evil has many faces.

ALPHA’S VOW is a story of betrayal and vengeance, speciesism and discrimination; acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic and edgy; the romance is fated ; the characters are animated and desperate.
