REVIEW: UNTIL YOU FIND ME is the first installment in Amber Hart’s contemporary, new adult Until You Find Me series focusing on twenty year old Raven Moore, an American student and twenty one year old Jospin Tondjii from Cameroon. This is not your typical new adult romance as a portion of the storyline focuses on gorilla poaching and endangered species in the jungle. UNTIL YOU FIND ME is a unique storyline in the new adult genre, atypical of the usual relationship angst and anxiety but there are definite dark secrets and destructive pasts.

Told from alternating first person points of view (Raven and Jospin) the premise follows Raven as she embarks on a journey to Cameroon where months earlier her father was killed in a supposed gorilla attack. But weeks before his death, Raven’s father sent a letter to his daughter urgently requesting her presence in Cameroon. Hoping to uncover the truth about her father’s death and what is was her father was so desperately trying to tell her, Raven will befriend a young local hunter named Jospin who is hiding a dark and dangerous secret.

The relationship and storyline is slow to build as Raven reflects on her past, her parents and her earlier times in Cameroon. A portion of the story looks at endangered species, big game poaching (especially gorillas) and the price of intervention. Raven will be injured and during her recovery she will befriend a captured gorilla named Leachim who is able to communicate and bond with our heroine. Most of the story takes place in the jungles of Cameroon.

We will be introduced to Jospin’s father-a man who is quick to kill with no regrets- and Jospin’s friend Clovis who will become an ally in the war against poaching. A rehabilitation habitat for gorillas will be home to Raven as she continues her search for the truth behind her father’s death and in this she will learn that evil has the face of many disguises.

There are some questionable scenarios throughout the storyline and if you can get past the ‘unreality’ of the situations, the storyline is entertaining and will definitely make you think. The storyline ends on a bit of a cliff hanger so be forewarned.

UNTIL YOU FIND ME is a story of friendship and bonding; romance and love; murder and revenge. There is intrigue, suspense, mystery and action woven through a storyline about the plight and poaching of endangered species.
