The plural form of Nemesis is Nemeses

Anna Albertini never thought she’d have to look up the plural form of nemesis. In fact, she never thought she’d have one, much less three. But as she and her new partner try to make a go of their fledgling law firm, enemies come from every direction.

First, there’s a newspaper reporter trying to make a name for herself by dogging Anna’s every move. Second, there’s a lawyer on the opposite side of every case who just doesn’t like Anna. And third, there’s Aiden Devlin’s ex-girlfriend, who decides to descend upon the sleeping Idaho town like a bird of prey. It’s too bad she’s discovered dead…after finding herself on the wrong end of a potato gun, putting Anna top of the suspect list.

Anna deals with every day as it arrives while juggling her developing relationship with Aiden, trying to pay her rent by finding at least one client who pays, and finally by partnering with her Nonna Albertini in the world’s most chaotic plan to match-make her sister with the Elk County’s prosecuting attorney, Nick Basanelli. It’s a good thing Anna has learned to thrive in chaos.

REVIEW:ADVERSE POSSESSION is the third instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult ANNA ALBERTINI romantic suspense series focusing on attorney Anna Albertini. ADVERSE POSSESSION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but for backstory and cohesion I recommend reading the series in order, as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

Told from first person perspective (Anna) ADVERSE POSSESSION follows several paths focusing on Timber City, Idaho attorney Anna Albertini and the chaos that has become her life. Having fallen in love with ATF agent / MC president Aiden Devlin, then fired from her job as assistant DA, Anna and the former public defender Clark Bunne are embarking on a new journey together as law partners but all is about to spiral out of control. After spending years undercover with the Lorde’s MC Aiden Devlin is called back in when a prisoner escapes during transport, an escape that is about to place Anna in the direct line of fire. Several attacks on her life, an accident that wasn’t, a number of dead bodies, and a bomber on the loose, Anna finds herself under the protection of the ATF, FBI and local law enforcement but there is always someone waiting to take her down. As her law practice gains momentum with each attempt on her life, threats of another nature are hitting too close to home. When the evidence points to the Lorde’s MC, Aiden becomes both guardian and aggressor in an effort to protect the woman he loves.

Meanwhile, Anna’s large extended family continues to play matchmaker between her sister Tessa, and prosecuting attorney Nick Basanelli, a man who had once considered a relationship with our story line heroine. The ongoing lighthearted family dynamic adds a little bit of humor into a dramatic story. Anna takes on the case of Kelsey Walker a young woman charged as an accomplice in the murder of her sister’s ex-boyfriend, but a woman who has caught the eye of several men including a couple of ATF agents.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and dynamic secondary and supporting characters, many of whom we have met in previous story lines: DA Nick Basanelli Anna’s siblings Quint, Donna and Tessa Albertini; file clerk /cousin Pauley; office helper Oliver Duck; Nana O’Shea and Nonna Albertini: ATF agents Sasha Dupont, James Saber, Kurt; prosecutor Orrin Morgan; Detective Grant Pierce, reporter Jolene Sullivan; Ted Thompson, Norman Barensky, as well as several members of the Lorde’s MC.

ADVERSE POSSESSION is a story of family and friendships, suspense and intrigue, passion and love. The premise is detailed, quirky, and intense; the characters are sassy, charismatic and realistic- the camaraderie, and back and forth is furious and frenetic; the romance is captivating and emotional. Rebecca Zanetti’s Anna Albertini Files is an edgy, decadent and thrilling series –get started today.

The Past Never Stays Buried

Anna Albertini is settling into a routine while ignoring the fact that the blue-eyed Irishman she’d allowed into her bed has up and disappeared on her. Two weeks without a phone call is no big deal, but still. With her hottie Italian boss goofing up the prosecuting attorney’s office, she at least has something to fix. Until she appears in court, across from her sister Tessa’s dirtbag ex. Then she has a mission.

Unfortunately, Anna isn’t the only person who wants the ex put behind bars…or in the ground. Which is not a problem until she and a local cop find the ex-boyfriend deader than dead…with both her sister and Aiden standing over the body.

As a prosecuting attorney, it’s Anna’s job to build a case against Tessa and Aiden. As a sister, it’s SO her job to get Tess out of this mess. As Aiden’s…what? Lover—girlfriend—friend from the past—it’s Anna’s job to figure out who the heck he really is. She has to dig out the truth, regardless of her ambitious boss or the cranky cop trying to thwart her every move. Sometimes a woman has to take matters into her own hands, regardless of the consequences.

“How long has Aiden Devlin been dating your sister?” Detective Pierce expertly switched topics.
If he was looking to trip me up, he’d failed. “Aiden and Tess aren’t dating. I have no idea where he has been for the last two weeks.” It wouldn’t do to lie to Pierce right now, and I didn’t see a reason not to tell him the truth. “Before you ask, I don’t know why Aiden was at Tess’s apartment or if he had any prior relationship with Danny Pucci.” But I was sure going to find out.
“So you don’t know why Devlin’s knuckles were as beat to shit as the dead body’s?” Pierce asked.
Yeah, I’d noticed that as well. “Nope.”
Pierce twirled a pen on his desk. “This isn’t looking good for your sister.”
Considering I hadn’t talked to her yet, I didn’t know how bad it looked. “Did you test her hand for GSR?” I asked the question like I knew what I was talking about and hadn’t binge-watched Law & Order all day Sunday, where is actually how I’d learned about gunshot residue. A homicide case was way above my pay grade.
“She tested positive,” Pierce said, seeming relaxed but definitely not missing anything.
I rolled my eyes. “If she picked up the gun that had been used to kill Danny, then the residue would be on her hand. You know that.” I thought that was the truth.
“I also know that only a moron would pick up a gun in that situation,” Pierce retorted. “Unless she was frightened by Devlin. But I’d have to ask what he was doing there.”
I swallowed. “Did you test Aiden’s hand?”
“Yep. Positive as well,” Pierce said, watching me like a bird of prey. “According to him, he was target practicing yesterday, but that’s all he’d own up to—so far. I’m off to interview him next.”
“What about Tessa?”
Pierce shook his head. “She lawyered up right away with Clark Bunne. Wouldn’t say a word.”
Relief cooled the hot ball of anxiety in my stomach. Okay. Good. “Well, then. I guess I’ll go talk to her and figure this out. Let’s hope you’re as good of a detective as you think you are.” With that zinger, I stood.
“Albertini? You’ll have to talk to her tomorrow,” Pierce drawled.
I stopped cold, still facing him. “Why?”
“Because I just arrested her for suspicion of murder. She’s being processed now.”

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 18, 2020

Bullets and Kisses Can Burn

The last person Anna Albertini expects to see in an orange jumpsuit in District Court—a place she SO doesn’t belong as a new prosecuting attorney—is Aiden Devlin, the man who’d saved her life when they were kids. For years, she has dreamed about him. Now here he is—his eyes blue, his chest wide, and his hands in cuffs.

Sure, Aiden says he doesn’t want her help, and his ties to a deadly motorcycle club should give her warning. Yes, her new boss is a sexy Italian bad boy who might be using the case to climb to the top. Plus, the detective assigned to the case, with his green eyes and broad shoulders, wants her to stay out of his way.

With so much testosterone surrounding her all of a sudden, most women would find it hard to concentrate. This might be why the case leads Anna to yelp during a spa appointment, fall out of a tree, and chase a naked old man around the courtroom. It’s a good thing Anna learned a long time ago to be her own hero, no matter how fast the bullets fly or the kisses consume.

REVIEW: DISORDERLY CONDUCT is the first instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary adult THE ANNA ALBERTINI FILES romantic, suspense series focusing on deputy prosecutor Anna Albertini.

Told from first person point of view (Anna Albertini) DISORDERLY CONDUCT follows deputy prosecutor Anna Albertini in the aftermath of a raid on the District Attorney’s office. With her boss suspected of drug trafficking, new DA Nick Basanelli takes over the existing cases, a DA who takes an interest in our story line heroine but to complicate matters, Aiden Devlin, the man who saved her life years before, has returned to Anna’s home town, a man who is currently starring in Anna’s fantasies and dreams, but a man directly connected to Anna’s former boss. As the investigation delves deeper into potential suspects, Anna continuously throws herself into the direct line of fire, opening up an investigation of her own, finding herself in opposition with Detective Pierce of the Timber City police, as she must come to terms with Aiden’s potential involvement. As the number of witnesses turn up missing or dead, Anna, Nick and Detective Pierce follow a trail of clues of potential betrayal.

Meanwhile, years before, our heroine was the victim of a kidnapping but her life was saved by Aiden Devlin. As the years go by, the man responsible continues to torment Anna Albertini, torment that has followed her home to Timber City.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT is a story of power, control, drug trade, betrayal, friendships, relationships, family and love. Anna Albertini is always in the wrong place at the right time, or the right place at the wrong times, and our heroine is a walking disaster as it pertains to her own safety and personal protection. Aiden has assigned himself guardian and protector, a job that even the local police struggle to perform.

As well, Anna Albertini is a woman who has attracted the attention of all three of our story line ‘heroes’: Aiden Devlin, DA Nick Basanelli, and Detective Pierce, and with each our heroine has acknowledged the attraction with the men, as well. I am not sure in which direction our heroine is heading, but Anna likes the bad boy who knows a thing or two about what Anna likes.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT follows several intersecting paths that culminate in the take down of the men responsible but not all is as it appears to be. The character driven premise is strong, imaginative and captivating ; the characters are colorful, energetic and edgy; there is definitely a hint of romance and attraction from numerous angles.
