Despite my vow not get into trouble again, I find myself following the man dubbed ‘Boner’ into a night of danger and delicious debauchery with long-reaching consequences.

REVIEW: ASKING FOR TROUBLE is the eight instalment in Giana Darling’s contemporary, adult THE FALLEN MEN dark, erotic, MC romance series. This is Aaron ‘Boner’ Clare, and twenty-five year old store clerk Faith ‘Blue’ Cavendish’s story line. ASKING FOR TROUBLE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Aaron and Blue) ASKING FOR TROUBLE follows in the aftermath of an attempted robbery and abduction of our story line heroine. Working alone at highway road stop, Faith Cavendish is about as vulnerable as she could be but she never expected to find herself facing both her past and her present when several men dared to take from our story line heroine but hr would-be rescuer would ensure Faith would be protected now and in the future but Faith’s need to run meant protecting the man with whom she would fall in love. As Faith finds herself falling for Aaron Clare, she knows it is only a matter of time before her past takes aim at the Fallen Men MC. What ensues is the building but fractured relationship between Faith and Aaron, and the fall-out as our heroine sacrifices herself to save the man that she loves.

The world building is detailed as the story unfolds revealing a looming war with the White Raiders MC, a white supremacist club that is trying to take control of the Alberta drug trade. As The Fallen Men devise a plan to take down the Raiders, Faith battles between head and heart knowing she may never be free of abuse from her past.

The relationship between Faith aka Blue and Aaron begins as a rescue but Faith knows that to get involved with The Fallen Men could mean the end of her life. As her relationship begins to grow with Aaron ‘ Boner’ Clare, someone else had previously laid claim to our story line heroine, and refuses to let go. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, engaging and sometimes questionable secondary and supporting characters. Jealousy and envy are rampant; a fight for control threatens the members of The Fallen Men MC.

ASKING FOR TROUBLE is a story of betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, power and control, family and abuse, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dark, dramatic, impassioned and emotional; the romance is provocative; the characters are determined, desperate and magnetic.

Asking for Trouble by Anna J. Stewart – a Review

Asking for TroubleAmazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / BAM

Description:
The Tremaynes are one of the most prosperous families in Lantano Valley, California. But money can’t buy everything—especially when it comes to love…

Morgan Tramayne has a heart of gold, but to keep her children’s charity afloat she’s had to resort to some less than legal means: donations from a notorious cat burglar who targets the wealthy. It’s only a matter of time before Morgan’s criminal connection blows up in her face—especially since her undeniable attraction to the man heading the investigation keeps putting her in tricky situations.

Former police detective-turned-investigator Gage Juliano has two goals: salvaging his career and nabbing Lantano Valley’s present-day Robin Hood. But when he meets a beautiful, curvaceous woman who’s more interested in helping others than amassing a fortune like the rest of the town’s residents, Gage finds his desires pulled in an unexpected direction

Review:

Asking for Trouble by Anna J. Stewart is the first book in her Tremayne Family Romance series. This is the first book I have read by Stewart, and after finishing this book, it will not be my last. This was a wonderful sweet, romantic and heart wrenching story, that is not to be missed.

Morgan Tramayne is our heroine, and with the death of her mother, she stepped into handling the charity foundation of the Tramayne family, especially her children’s charity that she is in charge of. Morgan is emotionally involved building the new clinic, as well as taking into her home 4 sick children. But Morgan finds herself in too deep financially. She has used some of the charity funds to help pay for a dying child’s surgery to save him. Now due to the expenses from the new building, she is strapped for time to pay back what she borrowed. A cat burglar named Nemesis, who targets the wealthy, leaves funds for her to use at various times, and now she is forced to use it.

Gabe Juliano is our hero, a former cop, who is now an investigator for the Lantano Police Department. Gabe previously was involved in trying to find out who was Nemesis, whom many call the modern Robin Hood. Gabe finds himself becoming involved again, as he suspects there are some connections in town.

Morgan and Gabe meet at the charity foundation gala, and the attraction between them creates immediate sparks. Gabe is enthralled with the beautiful & vivacious Morgan, but she knowing he is a cop, tries to distance herself. Gabe is persistent, and soon finds himself meeting and becoming involved with the children that Morgan takes care of. Morgan agrees to meet Gabe’s family, which was fun, and in a short time the Juliano and Tremayne families begin to work together helping with jobs or to help with the kids. It was kind of funny to watch Gabe’s mother latch on to Morgan to convince her to marry her son. Lol

Gabe and Morgan’s romance begins to sizzle, and both know that they have fallen love with each other. But Nemesis investigation run by an FBI investigator who seems to be out to get the Tremaynes, puts a cramp in their relationship. Gabe must find a way to clear Morgan, and stop the investigator from his unwarranted attempt to destroy Morgan and her family, and at the same time, he is concerned if he trust Morgan again? You will have to read the book to find out. what happens.

This is a sweet beautiful romance, great couple, a nice mystery and two super families. There are some twists that will continue on into the next story. However, this is also a very emotional read, as we get attached to the children staying with Morgan, with some heartbreak.   Great story all the way around. I suggest you read this book, as it is not to be missed.

Unfortunately, their two best friends are deeply, disgustingly in love. Forced together, the mutual attraction simmering beneath the surface of Brent and Hayden’s non-relationship grows with every argument until it explodes into a scintillating night of mind-blowing sex. And it wont be the last, as far as Brent’s concerned.

Hayden has a secret, though. Her father’s company is relying on a merger to save them from financial ruin, and only Hayden’s marriage to the CEOs wealthy son can secure the deal. If she’s to protect her family, she’ll have to forget Brent. And he has no intention of being forgotten.

REVIEW: ASKING FOR TROUBLE is the fourth storyline in Tessa Bailey’s contemporary adult romance series-Line of Duty. Although Asking for Trouble is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone without too much difficulty, I would recommend reading in order as a few of the previous storyline characters play a significant role in each subsequent novel.

Asking for Trouble follows an enemy to lovers storyline that finds officer and part time mechanic Brent Mason and Hayden Winstead at each other’s throat. Hayden comes from money and Brent has always worked hard to earn every penny he has saved and spent but for some reason the duo are quick to judge each other based on where they live; what they do; and the bottom line. Close friends with Story and Daniel (the previous storyline characters) Brent and Hayden are forced into a companionable treaty when in the presence of their mutual friends.

Brent sees Hayden as a spoiled, rich girl who lives off of her family’s money and Hayden views Brent as a blue collar obnoxious ruffian without manners, morals or respect. But as the storyline develops we begin to learn that both have made an error in judgment and it is this mistake that will push each other’s proverbial buttons when it comes to sex and their building relationship-good or bad. And when Hayden must make a heartbreaking decision, it will be Brent who steps outside of his comfort zone to ensure that Hayden will be his-forever.

The relationship is acrimonious. The sarcastic taunts, name calling and aggression reads like foreplay when the couple begin to realize that there may be more to their relationship than ego, mistaken beliefs and hatred for one another. Attraction and love are vaguely disguised but the sexual tension is thick whenever they are together.

Asking For Trouble is a storyline about two people who have a difficult time seeing past the zip codes and fancy label packaging. But when all is said and done, once everything and everyone is stripped down, they are two people who will fall in love when the truth about the bottom line is finally revealed.

I moved to New York when I was eighteen, the day after I graduated high school. Threw my suitcase in the back of a Chevrolet Cavalier and drove across the country to find my adventure. I’m still finding it, little by little.
