Told from dual first person perspectives (Blood and Maxine) and third person (Chastity) SAVING BLOOD follows the building relationship between cage fighter Chastity ‘Maxine’ Parker, and RBMC: Tijuana MX vice president Blood Collins. Maxine is a cage fighter but a fighter who has been used and abused, and is about to be used once again. An upcoming fight finds Maxine training and fighting for the RBMC: Tijuana MX club but a series of lies is about to expose the real nature of Maxine’s involvement. Blood is determined to trust the woman with whom he is falling in love but Maxine’s secrets are about to threaten Blood and the RBMC.
The world building focuses on the reality that is Maxine’s life. No longer under her own control,Maxine finds herself at the mercy of a mad man, a man who is taking aim at the RBMC.
The relationship between Maxine and Blood begins professionally as Maxine prepares to fight for the RBMC but all is not as it appears to be, and Blood finds himself battling between head and heart as Maxine’s secrets reveal a hard fought life that is only getting harder to land. “I also know you’re using sex to change the subject.”
Her fingers work the inside of my thigh. “Do you want me to stop?”
I shake my head slightly. “Nah, but you already know that.”
“So, what’s the problem?” She wraps her other hand around the back of my neck and leans in for a kiss.
