REVIEW: BATTLING ARIES is the second instalment in EC Land’s contemporary, adult DEVIL’S RIOT MC: MISSISSIPPI erotic, MC romance, a spin off set in the author’s DEVIL’S RIOT MC world. This is Road Captain Logan aka Aries, and Rory Tyler’s story line. BATTLING ARIES can be read as stand alone without any difficulty.Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from three first person perspectives (Aries, Rory , Cordelia) BATTLING ARIES follows the second chance relationship between Aries and Rory. Several years earlier, Rory and Aries had their entire lives ahead of them but while at basic training, Aries received a ‘dear John’ letter from our story line heroine, destroying his heart in the process. Fast forward to present day, with the help of Aries sister Cordelia, Rory returns a shell of her former self, beaten and abused by a man who controlled her life. Refusing to accept the return of the woman he once loved, Aries will discover that Rory’s life has been a living h*ll, a life she chose to protect someone she loved. Healing yet battling between head and heart, Rory struggles knowing she broke the man she once loved, a man who struggles to forgive what happened years before. When the past returns, Aries makes a promise, to end the darkness that continues to threaten the woman he loves.

The world building focuses on healing and forgiveness. Rory refuses to reveal the truth about what happened years before but with the help from an outside source, Aries will need to face the reality of what happened to the woman he loved.

The relationship between Rory and Aries is one of second chances but Aries struggles to forgive and forget; Rory is willing to walk away without a fight. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive.

We are reintroduced to several members of the Devil’s Riot MC including Kevlar and Rosemary: Viper and Jade (Viper’s Touch), Vulture, Cyprus & Noelle, Kendra, Mace, as well as Aries’ siblings Fox and Cordelia, and Rory’s step-brother Roger.

BATTLING ARIES is another story of secrets and lies, power and control, betrayal and vengeance, abuse and torture, forgiveness and love. The fast paced premise is dramatic and dark but the conflict resolution felt rushed; the romance is provocative; the characters are broken, desperate yet healing.
