REVIEW:SECRETS OF A BILLIONAIRE is the third instalment in Eva Winners’ contemporary, adult BILLIONAIRE KINGS dark, erotic, romance series. This is billionaire businessman Winston Ashford, and jewelry designer Billie Swan’s story line. SECRETS OF A BILLIONAIRE can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading book two Misdeeds of a Billionaire, Byron Ashford and Billie’s sister Odette’s story line. SECRETS OF A BILLIONAIRE runs parallel to, and crosses over with events of book two MISDEEDS OF A BILLIONAIRE.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Winston and Billie) covering six and a half years, using present day and memories from the past, SECRETS OF A BILLIONAIRE follows in the wake of a one-night stand. Six years earlier, Billie’s beloved father lost everything, and desperate to help, Billie devised an ill-conceived plan to rob our story line hero. Caught, with only two choices, Billie reluctantly agreed to marry her target, Winston Ashford, but a conversation she was not meant to overhear, forces Billie on the run for six years before coming face to face with the man to whom she was married. Enter Winston Ashford. Winston was desperate to reconnect with his wife, a woman in trouble but a woman he believes is keeping too many secrets. Along with her sister Odette (Misdeeds of a Billionaire), our heroine found herself in a life and death situation with a bag of stolen diamonds, and a price on their heads. Reuniting with Winston meant bowing down to a man she refused to love, a man who was about to offer everything and more. What ensues is the building but acrimonious relationship between Billie and Winston,and the potential fall-out as Billie refuses to accept our story line hero.

The world building is complex. We are up close and personal with Winston’s time in the military, the abuse and neglect of a father who ruled by power, and a young woman desperate to save her family and friends. Billie’s attempted theft placed her in a precarious position, a position in which she acted beyond contempt.

The relationship between Billie and Winston is tempestuous at best. Billie is belligerent, immature, condescending and always angry but secrets reveal a connection between the Ashford and Swan families, secrets that push Billie to run from the man with whom she will fall in love. Six years apart, on the run with her sister Odette, Billie finds herself in a precarious situation brought on by desperation and greed. Winston is a man with the ability to take charge but the past refuses to let go, and Winston struggles with the ghosts from the past. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

The colorful and charismatic secondary and supporting characters include Winston’s brother Byron, Royce, and their sister Aurora; their father Senator Ashford, as well as Billie’s sister Odette.

SECRETS OF A BILLIONAIRE is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, dysfunctional family values, forgiveness, acceptance and love. The premise is dark and dramatic; the romance struggles in the face of numerous betrayals; the characters are desperate, determined, questionable and dynamic.
