ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 25, 2023

Brett Powers is gorgeous, filthy, and off limits.

Rules are made to be followed.

Or so they say…

But let’s be honest. The second I stepped foot into Brett Powers’s classroom, I was doomed.

I mean, it’s not every day your dean is a 6’4” dark god with ocean-blue eyes and a dimple.

Just looking at him makes my heart pound and my stomach flutter.

He’s intense, filthy, and forbidden.

Not to mention, he’s my sister’s ex-boyfriend.

If I were smart, I’d walk away.

Lines are getting blurred.

Boundaries are being tested.

And rules are about to be broken.

•••••••

REVIEW: RULE is the second instalment in Cassandra Robbins’ contemporary, adult BLURRED LINES erotic, romance series. This is nineteen year old, university student Alexandrea Carter, and thirty-eight year old university professor, Brett Powers’ story line. RULE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Brett and Alexandrea) RULE follows the forbidden / age-gap relationship between nineteen year old, university student Alexandrea Carter, and thirty-eight year old university professor, Brett Powers. Brett Powers is the youngest, soon to be Dean at CAU (California University) but never expected to come face to face with nineteen year old Alexandrea Carter, one of his engineering students, and the sister of the woman who was once his friends with benefits. To keep his personal and school life separate, Brett intends to push Alexandrea out of his life but our heroine refuses to go down without a fight, and Brett refuses to let go. As Alexandrea and Brett’s relationship begins to grow, our heroine’s life begins to unravel when someone else suspects there is something going on. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Brett and Alexandrea, and the potential fall-out as Alex struggles with the direction of their relationship.

The relationship between Alexandrea and Brett is one of the forbidden; an age-gap, power differential between a student and her professor, a man who controls her life but Alexandrea’s power over Brett threatens our hero’s tenuous hold on his own control, a control he is willing to give up for the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are erotic, provocative and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word used 29 times.

We are introduced to several members of the faculty, as well as Brett’s parents Natalie and Charlie, his brother Jett and his wife Raven (Power #1), and Alex’s twin brother Jude (via phone), their sister Skylar, and fellow student Jordan Staple. Our couple are constantly dancing around the possibility of being caught.

RULE is a thought provoking and spicy story of power and control, obsession and heart break. The premise is edgy and captivating; the romance is spirted, aggressive and seductive; the characters are desperate, sassy and spirited- Brett is a controlling alpha who refuses to accept no.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 23, 2022

Owen Rollins’ life mission is to protect the young and innocent. But when he took the job to protect Baylor Giles, he miscalculated the situation.

Baylor may be young, but she’s not innocent. The way she prances around in her cheerleader skirt, throwing her coy smile his way. . .
No, she’s not innocent at all.

Still, he has a job to do, and he needs to remain focused. The threat to Baylor’s life is real, and he can’t let what happened last time happen again. Even if it would feel so good to show her the punishment for naughty girls who flirt with their bodyguard.

Nothing can happen. His resolve is firm, and his fortitude is unyielding.
Or is it?

Baylor Giles was a carefree, fun-loving teenager until that terrifying night everything changed.

Then Owen came into her life.

He makes her feel safe for the first time in a long time. But she also feels other things for the much older man. . . things she shouldn’t. And no matter how many times he turns her down, she knows he wants her too.

She’ll never convince him to be her forever, but can she convince this good guy to be bad for a weekend?

REVIEW:  BAD FOR A WEEKEND by Misty Walker is a contemporary, new adult to adult, erotic, romance story line found in the multi-authored BLURRED LINES series. This is thirty-two year old, former police officer turned security specialist Owen Rollins, and eighteen year old Baylor Giles’ story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Owen and Baylor) BAD FOR A WEEKEND follows in the aftermath of the abduction of our story line heroine. Eighteen year old student Baylor Giles was the victim of a kidnapping by an unknown assailant, and in the wake of the assault and ongoing threats, Baylor’s father, actor Corey Giles, hires personal security specialist Owen Rollins to protect his beloved daughter but Owen and Baylor’s attraction to one another is immediate, and Owen struggles to keep his distance from the woman with whom he will fall in love. A weekend in Mexico results in Baylor seducing our story line heroine, a seduction that will destroy our story line couple, resulting in the loss of a job for Owen Rollins. High school graduation with culminate in a targeted attack that will leave Baylor struggling to survive, while Owen finds himself on the outside looking in. Three years will pass before Baylor and Owen reconnect, a reconnection that will pull our couple together again but Baylor suspects Owen has moved on from their love. What ensues is the building but forbidden relationship between Owen and Baylor, and the potential fall-out when their affair is discovered, and Owen must walk away from the woman he loves.

The relationship between Owen and Baylor is one of immediate attraction; a forbidden, age-gap romance in which Owen was hired to protect a young woman whose life has been threatened by an unknown assailant but Baylor and her friends refuse to stay under the radar, and make life difficult for our story line hero. Baylor is a head strong, sometimes immature heroine who pushes all of Owen’s proverbial buttons but Owen gives as much in return, knowing that to cross the line would mean the end of his career, and his relationship with the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word in my romance story lines.

We are introduced to Baylor’s father Corey Giles, and her best friends Ziggy and Sara, and housekeeper/nanny Brandy, as well as Owen’s brother and boss Hudson.

BAD FOR A WEEKEND is a story of the forbidden; an age-gap romance between a young woman experiencing first love, and a man who struggles with demons from the past. The premise is engaging, emotional and entertaining; the romance is seductive and provocative with some scenes of ‘daddy-kink’ that felt awkward and unnecessary; the characters are charismatic, struggling and determined.

REVIEW: POWER by Cassandra Robbins is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, erotic, romance story line-a part of the multi-authored BLURRED LINES series. This is forty year old, high-powered attorney Jett Powers, and nineteen year old, college student Raven Stewart’s story line. Some of the events of POWER cross over with some of the events of FORCE (Disciples MC 5) where Jett Powers is first introduced.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Jett and Raven) POWER follows the age-gap romance and forbidden relationship between is forty year old, high-powered attorney Jett Powers, and nineteen year old, college student Raven Stewart. Jett Powers is engaged to Rachel, a witch of a woman, and her nineteen year old daughter Raven will be vacationing with the couple for the summer but Jett’s immediate attraction to Raven is visceral, and within hours Jett has claimed our heroine for himself. Jett Powers considers himself a monster; not worthy of love or affection, and his relationship with Rachel is predicated upon mutual understanding and public power but something about Raven stirs deep within our story line hero, something that is about to destroy the young woman he refuses to love. What ensues is the building and forbidden relationship between Jett and Raven, and the fall-out when their affair is discovered, and Jett pushes Raven out of his life.

Rachel is a woman who should have never had children, and her treatment of Raven is bordering on abusive. Raven knows her attraction her mother’s fiance is wrong on so many levels but as she slowly succumbs to Jett’s power, it is her heart that will be destroyed in the end.

The relationship between Jett and Raven is highly sexual, predicated upon a need to control, a relationship in which Raven will fall for a man who refuses to love. Jett Powers is often vulgar, a beast of a man, who constantly pushes the envelope of control, forcing Raven to run to protect her sanity. The $ex scenes are numerous, erotic, and provocative.

We are introduced to Raven’s best friend Cher, and her wanna-be boyfriend Brody, as well as Raven’s mother Rachel, Jett’s PA Rebecca, his driver/security Iain, and Rachel’s assistant Maria. I was a little concerned with the number of names beginning with the letter R-Rachel, Rebecca and Raven-it was a little confusing at times, and I had to re-read a several passages trying to refresh my recent memory about who was whom 😉

POWER is a story of power and control, obsession and infatuation, $ex and determination, heart break and love. The premise is raw and impassioned-a good portion of the story line focuses on the sexual relationship between our leading couple; the romance is sensual yet controlling; the characters are desperate and broken.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 27, 2022

They say never meet your heroes.
But no one ever warns you about falling in love with them.

Once, he was a god.

Devastatingly seductive. Illegally gorgeous.

Jackson Havoc was the hedonistic saint of sin, wrapped in leather, whiskey, and fame…

Until music’s crown prince of mayhem vanished from the spotlight, ten years ago.

Now, my job is to find him, and tell the world his story.

But I’m not prepared for the way he lays bare every forbidden fantasy.

How he rips into the most broken parts of my soul to feast on what he finds.

I tell myself I’m immune to his lethal charms.

But that’s a lie I’ll pay dearly for.

I flew too close to a god and burned in his flame.

Now, he’ll claim me in every way.

REVIEW: BROKEN LINES by Jagger Cole is a contemporary, adult, dark, rock, romance story line found in the multi-authored BLURRED LINES series. This is twenty year old , journalist Melody Blue, and forty-two year old, embittered, former rock star Jackson Havoc’s story line.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Melody and Jackson) BROKEN LINES follows Melody Blue’s search for former rock star Jackson Havoc, lead singer for Velvet Guillotine. Ten years earlier, Jackson Havoc disappeared without a trace but Melody is desperate to gain a foothold at Ignition Magazine, and with her mother’s history as a rock and roll groupie, Melody had some information no one else could obtain. Finding Jackson hiding out on an island in Maine pushes Melody to understand what happened and why, and in the end Melody refuses to out our story line hero but someone else is more desperate than Melody, and sets about to destroy our story line couple. What ensues is the acrimonious relationship between Melody and Jackson, and the fall-out as a lie-filled, tell-all book is about to push Melody to her knees to protect the man with whom she had fallen in love.

Jackson Havoc went into hiding a year after the death of his best friend and fellow band mate. Jackson aka Robbie, spent the next ten years at the bottom of a bottle, with powder up his nose, in an effort to forget about the world he once loved. Melody Blue dropping into his life forced Jackson to face the spiral that was destroying his life, a spiral that was about to pull Melody into a spiral of her own. Jackson and Melody’s pasts are heart breaking and dark, and it is their mutual commiseration that sets into motion the revelations that all is not well for our story line couple.

The relationship between Melody and Jackson is an age-gap, relationship predicated upon secrets and lies. Jackson is unaware of Melody’s true identity and connection to the band, and Melody never expected to fall for a man whose own life was shattered and broken. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

We are introduced to Melody’s best friend June Hendrix; Melody’s mother Judy Blue; Melody’s boss Chuck Garver and fellow journalist Becca, as well as several islanders who have no idea as to Jackson’s true identity.

BROKEN LINES is a story of secrets and lies, abuse and neglect, drugs and alcohol, power and control. The author blends reality amongst the fictional bands and musicians, such that the reader can apply fiction to fact. The premise is dark, and heart breaking; the romance is aggressive and intense; the characters are broken, struggling and desperate.

Have you been Aleatha’d?

•••••

REVIEW:SILVER LINING is the first instalment in Aleatha Romig’s contemporary adult BLURRED LINES erotic, romance series. This is forty-three year old, billionaire business woman Lena Montgomery, and thirty-one year old tech innovator CJ ‘Chandler’ Thompson’s story line.

NOTE: For followers of Aleatha Romig, SILVER LINING and the BLURRED LINES series is set in the same world as the author’s SIN series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (CJ and Lena) SILVER LINING follows in the wake of the sale of Architech to Montgomery Holdings. CJ and his brother Colton sold their business to Montgomery Holdings, and to celebrate CJ headed to Cancun where he would meet, and spend a glorious week, with a stranger, a woman who refuses to give more than the present. Upon his return, CJ would come face to face with the new owner of Architech, the woman with whom he was falling in love. Enter Lena Montgomery. All is not well in Lena’s life; Lena has a stalker, someone who is determined to make our heroine’s life miserable, someone who is desperate enough to pull CJ in the direct line of fire. What ensues is the building relationship between CJ and Lena, and the potential fall-out as Lena struggles with the power struggled between herself and CJ; and Lena’s stalker ups their attempts to destroy our story line heroine.

Lena battled between head and heart-CJ wanted to retain his position at Architech, a position that Lena claims would be a conflict of interested if our couple were to continue with their vacation affair. CJ is willing to step back or step-down but when the stalker gets up close and personal, CJ offers his protection to the woman that had stolen his heart.

The relationship between CJ and Lena begins as an island affair. One week together-no talk about lives back home, talk that would have revealed the reality of their situation, and their connection that runs deeper than sexual attraction. The $ex scenes are erotic and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to CJ’s brother Colton: Lena’s partner and advisor Jeremy Wilde, as well as her personal security Kelsey and Adam.

SILVER LINING is a story of betrayal and trust, vengeance and grief, acceptance and love. The premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are energetic, charismatic and determined. My only complaint, the conflict resolution was too quick and too easy.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 4, 2022.

There was absolutely no way she was falling for her neighbor. No matter how gorgeous he was.

Aurora Keller thought she’d lucked out when she decided to put down roots in Redemption, Tennessee. She had a new business, new friends, and a picture-perfect little house. There was just one problem, and it came in the form of her six-foot-three tattooed, muscle-bound neighbor from hell, who just so happened to be her best friend’s future brother-in-law. It really wasn’t fair that Satan’s offspring was so nice to look at.

Callum Morrison wasn’t a good man. Or at least that was what he’d convinced himself. After a series of bad decisions that had resulted in the worst years of his life, all he was looking for was peace and quiet. Too bad he bought a house right next door to the one woman he wanted but could never have. That was enough to make any man grumpy.

What had started as a war against two neighbors turned into something so much more.

And if they aren’t careful, the fallout could destroy them both.

••••••

REVIEW:JP just does it for me! Every time I pick up one of her books, I am never let down. Blurred Lines is the sixth book in the Redemption series and continues on with characters we’ve met before.

We’re back to small town living in Tennessee, and back to characters that we love. Rora is one of a kind, probably one of the most unique characters I have ever read. She’s sunshine and soulful, but now her life has a tiny little gray cloud in the form of Callum.

Grumpy Callum, her new next store neighbor. These two butt heads from the very beginning, but it’s so funny and sexy that you can’t help but want to read more and more. Callum has done his time and paid his dues for his past, but for him it’s more, his redemption isn’t in his future. When he buys the busted up farm house, hoping to fix it up and settle in, he’s surprised to find that the one woman he can’t keep out of his head lives in the house next store. The spitfire that haunts his dreams and occupies parts of his heart that he thought was long dead, Aurora.

When Rora decides to help Callum out, she ends up starting to like him more and more. When his family brings their drama to his door, it’s Rora that is up in their face defending him. Poor Callum is falling deeper and deeper into Rora, but doesn’t think he is good enough for her or that he deserves her. Rora makes it her mission to heal Callum, but when his hot and cold vibes get to be too much for her to deal with she has a hard time letting go.

Callum and Rora are hot and cold, flighting and dramatic, but they are so funny at the same time, you can’t help but love reading their story. I love how no matter what Callum does, Rora keeps trying to heal him and make him realize that he is worth love, that he deserves to receive it and give it. Rora is that balm that Callum needs in his life, and Callum is that love that Rora has been searching for. This book really does have it all, twists, turns, drama and spice. Their HEA is one for the books.

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.

Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.

In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.

Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.
