This is thirty eight year old, Russian mobster Maksim Sokolov, and twenty-seven year old bartender Sofia Rodriguez’ story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sofia and Maksim) BROOMSTICKS AND BLOODSTAINS follows in the aftermath of a masked ball. Having overhearing some dangerous information , Sofia is unaware she is now the target of the Bratva but more importantly of brotherhood member Maksim Sokolov. The world building focuses on Sofia’s struggles to make ends meet: on Maksim’s potential and deadly fall-out with the Russian Bratva, and a possible was with the Armenia mob.

The relationship between Maksim and Sofia is born of threats and protection. Maksim has refused to end the life of the woman with whom he is falling in love, and in this, Maksim himself is quickly falling out of favor. Sofia had only wanted to make some extra money for pay the bills but having overheard the Russian’s conversation, our heroine is now the target of some powerful men. Sofia is quickly falling for the man who can end her life but everything is about to change for our story line couple. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include Sofia’s best friend Isabella, as well as Russian Brotherhood assassins and Maksim’s friends Konstantin Makarov, and Dima; head of the local Bratva Boris Volkov, as well as several members of the Armenian mob.

The relationship between Peter and Niamh is predicated upon a number of lies. Neither Peter or Niamh reveal the truth about their identities or their pasts, and in this, Niamh will feel betrayed, once again, facing life without kindness or love. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word.

All of the previous story line couples return in cameo appearances, as well as the head of the Volkov Bratva Ivan Volkov. We are introduced to Niamh’s father Finn Byrne, and her brother Finn Byrne jr. The requisite evil has many faces.

A MONSTER IS COMING is a story of power and control; secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, violence and abuse, family and friendships, forgiveness and love. The premise is emotional, dark, gritty and dramatic; the romance is seductive; the characters are broken, determined and charismatic.

Upon the rescue, Nikolai Veles claims Cassiopeia as his own but not before making our heroine a virtual prisoner but a prisoner in a gilded cage. Cassiopeia Trundel has been used and abused, and she has become a pawn in her ex-husband’s payment for a debt but Cassie struggles with Nikolai’s need to claim, a claim that Cassie sees as going from the proverbial frying pan into the fire. Nikolai Veles is a the Miami Pakhan, a selective mute who doesn’t talk but lets his power do the talking for him. Falling for Cassiopeia is easy, keeping her safe means taking down the people who have threatened her life.

The relationship between Cassie and Nikolai begins as a rescue. Cassie has been sold as payment for a debt but her life with her husband had never been easy. Nikolai doesn’t do relationships but something about Cassie calls Nikolai like a moth to a flame, a flame he is willing to suffer the burns. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, used twenty three times in my romance story lines.

The colorful and dynamic secondary and supporting characters include Nikolai’s ‘brothers in arms’ Misha and Maxim, his ‘son’ Dmitri; Cassie’s mother Dema Turgenev, as well as several members of the US and Russian Bratva-Igor, Boris, Grigoriy, local businessmen and women who work for and under the Pakhan’s rule. We are reintroduced to Aiden and Savannah O’Donnelly (FILTHY KING). Dmitri and Sofia’s story line is next.

SILENCED is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, abuse and murder, acceptance and love. The premise is detailed, engaging and captivating; the romance is seductive and passionate; the characters are powerful and determined.
