REVIEW: BRUTAL BARGAIN is the fourth instalment in Laurelin Paige’s contemporary, adult BRUTAL BILLIONAIRES erotic, romance series. This is thirty-nine year old, President of Programming at Sebastian News Corp Axel Morgan, and thirty-three year old Chief HR Officer Adly Sebastian’s story line. BRUTAL BARGAIN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Axel and Adly) BRUTAL BARGAIN follows the fake marriage / marriage of convenience/ brother’s best friend relationship between our story line couple. Adly, along with Alex Sebastian and Holt Sebastian have plans to purchase their own television network but short of funds, Adly starts look for a suitable husband in an effort to claim her part of the family inheritance. Enter Axel Morgan, Adly’s brother Hunter’s best friend, and a self-proclaimed enemy of our story line heroine. Marrying Axel is only for the short term but when the family believes they have discovered the truth, all bets are off when our couple find themselves facing the future, long term, when betrayal threatens the barely veiled questionable family dynamics.
The world building is meticulous and intricate as we follow Axel and Adly down the proverbial rabbit hole as they struggle between head and heart knowing their marriage vows are only temporary. With her inheritance in hand, Adly is hoping to become part owner of an all-woman’s network but someone else is forcing the price beyond their control.
The relationship between Adly and Axel is an enemies to lovers in which the palpable sexual attraction is hidden behind innuendo, anger, and aggression. Fantasy role play is but a part of the couple’s developing relationship, as well as the Axel’s need to make their arrangement more permanent. The $ex scenes are provocative and impassioned.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including all of the previous story line couples including Adly’s siblings Holt, Hunter and Alex; their father Samuel Sebastian, Grandpa Irving and Axel’s father Kevin Morgan.

She is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however.
