REVIEW:The Hellions of Hade Harbor are baby and worse than ever! At book four in the series we know these guys well, in this installment we get Marcus and Ari’s story. As always, I recommend reading the series in order, but each can be read as a standalone in the interconnected series.

Ari is looking for a fresh start and a safe place to land, and Hade Harbor seems to fit that bill just fine. With a past that is still haunting her, a new job looming on the horizon, a stiff drink sounds pretty darn good. After making her way into the small town’s dive bar; The Clutch, Ari hits it off with the hot as sin bartender. Marcus isn’t just hot, he’s off the charts in every way and definitely not someone she was expecting to cross paths with. After their one night stand together, Ari thinks that’s the last she’ll see of the man that she can’t get out of her mind.

Too bad she’s in for a surprise. Said bartender is sitting front and center as one of her university students on day one. Marcus can’t forget about Ari, he’s obsessed, and when he gets that way, nothing will stop him from getting what he wants. There one night together has him needing more, but it’s not just how hot the sheets were, it’s Ari herself. Their chemistry is a wildfire that he wants to get lost in. Marcus is the star goalie for their university and used to fighting for what he wants, and now what he wants is Ari, and nothing is going to stop him from claiming her.

‘Sizzle’ Hot darn this book was a kicker! Marcus and Ari are a fantastic read. Ari is a sweet person just trying to get out of a bad situation, and Marcus, bless his heart, just wants to help. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a total alpha the entire time, but he wants to love and care for Ari as well. The two are both missing a few puzzle pieces, but together they make a new piece of art together, one that is even more beautiful. The plot is quick and easy to keep up with, with enough suspense to keep the reader engaged and waiting for more, the spicy bits of course are 🥵, but the characters are what make Wicked Ends worth the read.

REVIEW:Perfect title for this book. Ruthless God is dark academia, arranged marriage, morally dark romance. Check your trigger warnings before reading, this is heavy and dark.

Snow is someone who I would describe as being an absolute loose cannon in the worst way possible, but oddly enough he seems to relish that. Lyrical is his sister’s best friend and he has always had the most unhinged crush on her, but one that after their parents agree to marry them to each other changes. He grows distant with her, but always watchful, always protecting her from afar. When tragedy strikes, he does too. Snow doesn’t want to protect her now, oh no, the very opposite of that, in fact he has made it his life mission that Lyrical doesn’t have a moment of peace or happiness ever again. Throughout the next half of the storyline, Snow and Lyrical torture each other with some of the most messed up things, but feeding off each other’s hatred.

To say their relationship was toxic with all the red flags would be an understatement, but it worked for the characters.

Snow and Lyrical’s story kept me engaged, even if it was just to see what crazy thing they would do to the other next. Through trauma, death, betrayal and pain, Snow and Lyrical managed to find a world that they fit together, and fit together they do. Snow is full of possessive alpha, he just has a level of crazy that I don’t think I have read before and that is saying something because I have read A LOT of books.

As a first time reader to this author, it was a smack in the face, but in a good way. Vivid scenes, engaging characters, crazy storylines and a level of crazy I haven’t experienced before. I would recommend it to my dark romance readers for sure.

REVIEW:  BAD BLOOD by Faith Summers is a stand alone, contemporary, new adult, dark Mafia, bully romance novella set in the author’s Raventhorn Academy and Dark Syndicate worlds. This is Bratva heirs Chad Volchkov, and Billie Fairchild’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Chad and Billie) BAD BLOOD focuses on Billie Fairchild’s arrival at Raventhorn Academy, a prep school for the infamous, rich, powerful and elite. Billie’s arrival at Raventhorn is unwelcome by Bratva heir Chad Volchkov, a young man who blames Billie’s father for everything that has gone wrong in his life. Chad is determined to destroy our story line heroine, and in doing so, break what’s left of Billie’s psyche and soul. What ensues is the bullying and destructive attachment between Billie and Chad, and the fall-out as someone else seeks revenge against our story line couple.

Billie Fairchild’s only sin is to be the daughter of a sick and twisted man. The relationship between Chad and Billie begins acrimoniously within minutes of Billie first arriving at school. From the outset Chad sets his sights on our story line heroine-stalking, emotionally and mentally abusing, blackmailing and a number of acts of questionable consent. Billie struggles in the face of the threats against her life and her heart, and in this, she gives in to the demands and orders of the man with whom she will fall in love. The $ex scenes are aggressive and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters include the requisite mean girl(s), easy girls, young Bratva crew in training, and the questionable actions of the people in charge.

BAD BLOOD is a fast paced, and heart breaking story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, abuse, bullying and aggression, acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic, dark and often disheartening; the characters are broken, desperate and dynamic; the romance is questionable on so many levels.

J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.

After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.

So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years.
