ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 15, 2024

The rules were simple. Protect the woman I love. And try to stop loving her along the way.

Kane Montgomery Carr and Phoebe Dixon’s romance went from a fiery temptation to a fizzled out heartbreak.

Only Kane has no idea why.

All he knows is that he has to keep her safe when a stalker sets Phoebe in their sights.

Yet as the two of them are forced once again into each other’s lives, the truth behind their breakup surfaces and they are forced to face the facts: the feelings and heat they buried aren’t quite as gone as they’d like.

If they give in, they’ll have to face the demons that broke them up in the first place—including a startling secret that shocks them both.

Yet if they don’t, they might lose the chance of a life time.

That is, of course, if they can survive what lurks in the shadows for them both.

REVIEW: Montgomery Ink Legacy book six has arrived, and Ms. Author has knocked another one out of the park! As always, I recommend reading the series in order, but the books can be read as standalone individual books. HLC is a romantic suspense, second chance romance filled with drama, family and steamy moments to light up the pages.

When our couple meet, it’s a giggle. There’a a bathroom, a bear and somewhat car-jacking, no spoilers of course, but get ready for the giggle. Kane is our resident Montgomery, and we all know what comes with that.

When Phoebe can Kane meet again, Phoebe is in need of protection and help in finding out who is sending her disturbing messages. This mystery along with the threat to Phoebe has Kane taking the job, not to mention, he still has feelings for her.

What a fun read! A good second chance romance is always a go to read for me, reading as the couple works through their issues, mysteries are uncovered and the truth is found out. Kane and Phoebe are true, funny and sassy in their story, it’s fast paced and entertaining, keeps the reader engaged and waiting for the next chapter to come. As always for this author, her characters are well thought out and meaningful, relatable and memorable, we always know whatever we get, we will enjoy.

REVIEW:The Wilder Wedding is a quick little novella by Carrie Ann Ryan. This quick little read is the seventh book in the Wilder Brother series, it is recommended to read the series in order. This book is Naomi and Amos’s story.

Naomi is the Innkeeper for the resort the Wilder owns and operates, she escaped her past and is trying to build a new future for herself. She and Amos have a relationship, but one the she doesn’t really understand. She loves him, but doesn’t know where they stand together. Due to her family issues in the past, she has a hard time opening up and being happy.

The plot thickens are Naomi is attacked, and Amos being Amos, he vows to protect her. Now he has his own issues with his past marriage, and with Naomi, he feels protective and wants the best for her. Even for a while he thinks that isn’t their relationship. These two are drawn together, their chemistry is potent, but as always, they seem to be in each other’s way of their own happiness.

In CAR fashion for her novellas, the story goes quick, but it fills in a lot of gaps in the previous books. Amos and Naomi’s story is fast paced, emotional and moving, with just the right hint of danger and spice, just what you expect for this author.

I loved weddings.
There. I said it. I loved everything that went into a wedding and the day of. Some people called them a spectacle and a waste of money. After all, it was one big party for most people in which money, blood, sweat, tears, and countless spreadsheets went into to make them seemingly perfect. Even though no day was actually perfect.
And I loved it all.
I loved the moment. That moment when the bride and groom, or two grooms, two brides, or any poly mix, found themselves looking at each other for the first time.
I loved the shock, the glee, the terror, the excitement. I loved when brides ended up nearly running to their grooms. Or that one time when the two grooms decided to meet halfway down the aisle, even though it wasn’t planned, it just happened. I loved everything about that moment.
The moment you knew that you made the right decision. Where love conquered all and your stomach tightened because you knew this was it. That moment. That everything.
Of course, not all weddings worked perfectly. And not all weddings made sense. Sometimes you went in having a horrible feeling that this just wasn’t going to work out. That they were making a mistake with their decisions.
But those didn’t happen as often as some people thought.
When you decide to give your all to someone, to promise to love and to protect and to cherish that person, you go all in.
What comes later may change things. Perhaps you’re not the same person you once were, so those promises don’t mean what they used to. Or perhaps you realize that you were wrong, and you had been looking through rose-colored glasses.
Or perhaps fate deals a cruel blow, and you lose that other person before you even had a chance to make good on that promise.
I sighed and set my chin on my hand as I watched the bride and groom practice their walk down the aisle during the rehearsal. Their wedding was the next morning, and this was a late afternoon rehearsal. Alexis was brand new to the Wilder team, and I was grateful for her and everything she brought not only to the process, but to the Wilders themselves. The past few wedding planners the Wilder brothers hired hadn’t been up to scratch. In fact, they had failed so hard I was surprised they could even write a single to-do list.
I had worked here before the Wilder brothers had even come to Texas. To be honest, I had been a little skeptical of them. After all, most of them had no experience with running a winery, running an inn, or dealing with events, let alone weddings.
Six strapping brothers, all in a different state of denial and damage, had shown up at our door and proclaimed themselves our new bosses. Our former boss had decided to retire. He had tried his best, and had laid down a decent foundation, but since the Wilder brothers had shown up, we had changed for the better.
We were still finding our way, but the Wilder brothers were making things work. And from what I could tell, a few of them were creating sparks of their own.
Alexis and Eli seemed to be enjoying each other’s company, although it was my job as innkeeper of the Wilder Inn to ensure that the staff didn’t gossip about our big boss and the wedding planner. Nor were we allowed to gossip about our new chef, Kendall Wilder, and her ex-husband, Evan. No, we didn’t talk about those things.
Only it was the best thing we talked about.
Sparks flew and one day someone was going to get burned. However, I had a good feeling about them. That meant there were still four more Wilders, and I heard there was even another set of cousins, so there were more sexy Wilders out there. They needed happy ever afters too, and who knew, maybe this Wilder Retreat and Winery could be the thing that changed everything for them.
Because it made changes and hope for others.
It made things spark.
“Excuse me, ma’am? Is this where we check in?”
I immediately turned back to the front of my desk, smiling wide. I hadn’t heard the older couple come in, and that meant I needed to get my head out of the stars and actually focus on my job.
“Yes of course, I’m sorry. Welcome. Mr. and Mrs. Statham, is it?” I asked, remembering their names from the schedule book. We were a large inn with multiple cabins and rooms within our main building, but we weren’t so large that I couldn’t remember timings and faces if I did my social media scooping well enough. I knew their likes, dislikes, and little touches from the survey they filled out.
Not everyone had social media, so thankfully many people who wanted to enjoy their trip and feel loved and cared for filled out the survey properly. Including allergies, their favorite color, and other random things. The more thorough, the more I could enhance their trip.
I had a whole team to help me with that, to help clean rooms and to keep the large all-wood entryway pristine. But I usually rolled up my sleeves and put in some elbow grease beside them.
Many of the team from before left after our old boss decided to abandon ship. The Wilders had hired so many new faces that sometimes it felt like I was constantly catching up. But the core of us, we were still here.
Like Maddie, Jay, and Amos from the winery. They hadn’t wanted to leave the grapes or the barrels, so they stayed, and I had a feeling they would never leave. After all, Elijah and Evan Wilder were kicking ass over there, though I couldn’t read Elijah, because I didn’t know if he was smirking or not, and Evan liked to growl.
But he fit in over there because Amos loved to growl too.
Not that I was thinking about Amos.
It was better not to think about him. When I had first seen him, I’d swooned.
Yes, I’d swooned.
That big bushy beard and those dark eyes and slanted eyebrows that always made him look angry. I loved them. He was all wide and full of muscle. He could lift like nobody’s business, and put some of the Wilders to shame in the muscle department. And when he pushed up his sleeves to his elbows, showing off those forearms? I nearly fanned myself just thinking about it. A girl could weep.
Of course, now I was thinking about Amos while I was checking in our new guests and showing them around the lobby before I led them to their rooms. That was probably bad for business.
Plus, it wasn’t great for my heart.
After all, Amos had no idea I had a crush on him. And he didn’t need to know—ever.

REVIEW:Moments For You is the next installment in the Wilder Brothers series by the ever radiant Carrie Ann Ryan. MFY is the seventh book in the series, and as always, I recommend reading a series in order to get the most out of it, but if you so choose the book can be read as a standalone.

Oh the feels with this one!

Aurora is a widow, one stuck in a limbo of her own making. On the anniversary day of her lost husband, she is mindlessly scrolling Insta, and sees a post from a desperate bride in need of a wedding gown. Aurora takes this as her long awaited sign that it is finally time to move on with her life and start living again. So she allows the new bride to wear her dress, this singular act brings more into her life than she could ever know. It brings her Ridge Wilder.

Ridge and his brothers are cousins of the original Wilder brothers, and so they bought the land across from their retreat to start their own business. Little does the rest of the family know the heartbreaking pain that Ridge is in. -No spoilers- He thinks he hides it so well behind his gruff exterior and surly attitude, but when he meets Aurora he finds himself drawn to her by their familiar pain. Between the two Wilder businesses, most know of Aurora’s loss, and give her the space she wants, but when she donates her dress, they start to think that maybe she is ready to move past it and start living again.

Ridge and Aurora’s story was so emotionally moving. I loved how they supported each other through everything, it was so moving how they bonded over their pain, but even more so that that is how they really start to get to know one another. As the story progresses, the characters evolve more and more, but Aurora is truly my favorite. She starts living again, really living and doing things that she loves again. Overall, I am pleased with the book and can’t wait to see what the other Wilder Brother-Cousin have coming for them.

REVIEW:Finding The Road to Us is the sixth and final installment of the Wilder Family series by Carrie Ann Ryan. Like always, I recommend reading the series in order to get the most out of it, and in the current book storyline, I think it’s important to know what had previously happened. This is a MMF spicy romance with a grumpy, ex-military alpha hero.

There’s a little more drama to this book compared to the others, but Trace, Elliot and Sidney’s romance is more than just the two of them. The last we see of Trace and Elliot, they are literally dangling off a cliff. They survive their situation and then meet Sidney.

Sidney is the missing piece to Trace and Elliot’s relationship and one I definitely didn’t see coming. Sidney was easy to like, and even more so when the guys came into the picture. I really like that she is the black sheep of her family, and even with all the BS they put her through, she managed to keep who she is at heart.

Overall the storyline is fast paced, entertaining and engaging, the spicy bits are good and the character development of Trace and Elliott really make it.

REVIEW:Best Friend Temptation is the fourth installment in the Montgomery Ink Legacy series. Ashley always, I recommend reading the series in order, but the majority of CAR’s books can be read as a standalone. Think of this book as a best friends fall in love meets why choose sweet romance. If you’re a reader into that, well this is gonna be right up your alley!

Noah and Ford are best friends and roommates, but are completely in love with one another, but they’re men, and can’t see what’s in front of them. Neither can understand that they want one another, not until her.

Greer is the newbie in town, after opening her bakery in town she is on top of the world. That is until her house burns down and she is left with nothing but ashes. Noah and Ford are friends of hers and when she calls them for help afterwords, she is beyond grateful. Then they offer her their spare bedroom, and then things take a twist. Greer thinks Noah and Ford and together, and they are , but they just can’t seem to get that figured out. They want to be together, but Noah keeps pulling back. When the tension finally breaks between the three of them, they finally give into their desire and WOW!

CAR never disappoints with her books and this is no different. I love this series, the Montgomery’s are a family that sticks together. Noah, Ford and Greer are a fun, intriguing, faced passed and real. I can’t wait to see what comes next next.

The world thinks I only write songs about my ex-boyfriends.

They study each lyric to point a finger at which man broke my heart—even if I’ve never met him.

Only the man I refuse to write about is the one who is so tangled in my mind that I know I can never be with him.

He broke my heart without even trying.

Yet now I can’t seem to write a single verse and I need a place to hide while I figure out who I am. The Wilder Retreat will have to be my refuge as the Wilders prepare for my best friend’s wedding.

And when I’m there, I refuse to fall for East again.

Even if the dark shadows in his eyes draw me in. And the dangers of his past might be the one thing that forces us to finally give in.

REVIEW:We are back with the Wilders! Stay Here With Me is the fifth installment in the Wilder Brothers series by Carrie Ann Ryan and this book is the story of the Grumpy East and Lark the song bird. For new readers, I do recommend reading the Wilder series in order, you can read SWM as a standalone, but the characters are much more rounded when you do.

East is the grumpy handyman of Wilder Events, it’s what he is known for. He is struggling and quiet, but always there when people need him. Lark on the other hand is free spirited, she loves her music, but she is for her new album, the inspiration just isn’t there. Lark is famous for her music, her songs on her relationships to be more specific, she has always used the same person as a muse for her music, but now things have changed. Now there is East.

When East and Lark spend one heck of a night together, filled with passion, the music she has struggled to find sparks to light. Too bad she promised East that he wouldn’t end up a song for the masses. The song is everything, and one of the best she has ever made, but when it gets released…well lets just say that East is not pleased.

There were parts of this book that I liked more than others, but the plot is good and the characters are always enjoyable to read. East is so broken, his trust is hard to win, Lark is good for him, but with his PTSD everyday is a struggle. This book is intense, the journey of these two us a turbulent adventure, but one readers will surely love.

REVIEW:Longtime Crush is the third installment of the Montgomery Ink Legacy series by the ever lovely Carrie Ann Ryan. With the majority of her books, this one can also be read as a standalone, but I always recommend reading a series in order. The Montgomery series is filled with family, love, and emotional trauma that are sure to make readers enjoy the series even more.

Sebastian and Raven have a long past filled with moments of joy tainted by pain. Through all of this, they come out on the other side with a truly new love and understanding of each other. After Sebastian lost the love of his life the same day their daughter was born, he lost apart of himself with her. Even with the loss of the future we always thought he would have, tries to live for his family, his daughter, find joy in his work and let go of the past.

Raven is back home in the town she grew up in, a town where she made the best of friends, but also the palace where she lost so much. When she meets Sebastian again, old feelings rush to the surface yet again, putting her right back in the place she was when she left. But Sebastian has never had the feelings for her that she has had for him, the crush of a young girl and then the love of a woman. Sebastian will always only love Marley, their long ago friend, and the mother to Sebastian’s young daughter.

This second chance, small town romance is filled with heart wrenching, moving moments that will have readers reaching for a hanky, loving found family moments and best of all spicy bits that are sure to keep you up at night. CAR is a writing wizard who reaches into the soul of readers and pulls out what we want to read the most. The Montgomerys are a joy to read and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

REVIEW:Coming Home for Us is the fourth installment in the Wilder Brothers series by Carrie Ann Ryan. This series is home to the ex-military Wilder brothers and the women they fall for. As always, I recommend reading a series in order to get the best experience of the story, but C.A.R does provide enough goodness if you chose to read as a standalone.

Maddie and Elijah are the couple for this adventure, and of course we get a nice visit from the previous three pairs from the first few books. Maddie is a wholesome, good girl who is looking to find herself, and she does that at the Wilders Vineyard. Maddie and Elijah’s romance is a bit like a best friend/coworker romance, she falls for him, but he doesn’t see her as anything but a friend, falls for another women, breaking Maddie’s heart in the process, tragedy strikes, grief and pain ensue and then finally light and love shine again.

When Maddie has to make a hard choice to stay or go, she is conflicted and unsure. She loves the life and the family and friends she has built at the vineyard, but seeing Elijah and not being able to be with him, is so painful. Is a change worth it? When Elijah loses the women he thought he would spend his life with, he’s a hot mess, let’s be honest. Understandably. Slowly he starts to see the light again, and Maddie, but she’s not the same as she was before. Or so Elijah thinks. After years, even with Elijah determined to never go through that pain again and swearing off love, Maddie happens. When he starts seeing her in a more womanly way, he starts to think that maybe being happy isn’t as scary as he thought it would be.

Maddie and Elijah were so loveable! The rest of the Wilder family was rooting for them so much, all wanting two of their favorite people to be happy together. I really liked that we got a full story with Maddie and Elijah, even with all the pain he had to go through with Joy, to finally get his HEA was so amazing. This series is a keeper for sure, I can’t wait to see what comes next in the series. I hope that Lark will get a story!!
