“A prince vows to prove the girl he loves is his missing princess by recovering her lost memories.”
Prince Trevor has always placed duty to his kingdom above the desires of his own heart. But when his betrothed is lost at sea, he finds himself torn between honor and love.
After four years of searching for the missing princess, he begins to secretly long for Lady Bri, the Woodland Guide he works with each day. But the law says he must marry a princess, and Bri is barely a noble.
When Trevor learns that Bri shipwrecked at the same time and place as the princess, he begins to believe he has finally found his bride-to-be. But his happiness is short lived. Bri has no memory of her past, and the princess wasn’t the only girl who disappeared from the ship.
Desperate to prove Bri is his princess, Trevor unwittingly places the two of them in grave danger. Buried in Bri’s memories are deadly secrets someone wants kept from the light of day, and learning who she is may cost more than either is willing to pay.
REVIEW
5 out for 5 for this reader folks!
Well that different! Really good different, in comparison to my normal preferred genres, but that is what I love about reading … there is always a new discovery just around the corner! Charmed Memories by Mary Waibel is the second book of her Princess of Valendria series (I reviewed her first book called Quest of the Hart here at TRC). Again, what a vivid world she creates and I felt like Mary Poppins being dragged into the art scene and inserted into colour, love and happiness (wrong era I know, but that is what came to mind … LOL) I smiled often reading this book! Don’t be fooled though .. this story isn’t just fluff. There is mystery, intrigue and suspenseful moments, vengeful people and betrayal. This with all the happy .. well it makes one great read!
So our main man is Prince Trevor. Trevor is the brother to the heroine in the first book of this series. Trevor has lost his betrothed Princess Elsbeth at sea, but refuses to believe that she has perished. He searches and searches and even after many years he still clings to hope and is honour bound to believe she is not dead! He ends up being assisted by a Woodland guide named Lady Bri.
Lady Bri, just so happens to suffers from amnesia. She does know that this magnificent Prince Trevor takes another little piece of her heart as their journey to find Elsbeth begins to unravel. She shows all her flaws (as does he) and lays it all out while Trevor is clueless half the time ( but he comes around) and soon the conflict of a doomed love comes to surface. Trevor does suspect at times that Bri is Elsbeth but you know I am not going to be letting that cat out of the bag .. so pick up the book! 😉
I felt like I went on a world wide tour reading this book. The clues that both Trevor and Bri had to follow and figure out were engaging leaving me to ponder and guess what was next … not always predictable, which I LOVE! There was deadly action waiting, slight humour, and all around two great people who I found myself rooting for. Another thing I am going to gush about is while this story is immersed in fantasy land, their was a believability to the characters that enabled me that cherished connect I love to have with the characters.
I have young readers in my home, and I am shelfing this book for a future mom/daughter read together! I can predict us loving different aspects of the same story!
HAPPY READING! 🙂
