ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 28, 2021

Single mom Lexie Bell hopes to make this first Christmas in their new home special for her six-year-old son, Brock. Festive lights and homemade fudge, check. Friendly neighbors? Uh, no. The reclusive widower next door is more grinchy than nice. But maybe he just needs a reminder of what matters most. At least sharing some holiday cheer with him will distract her from her own lack of romance…

Stanley Mann lost his Christmas spirit when he lost his wife and he sees no point in looking for it. Until she shows up in his dreams and informs him it’s time to ditch his scroogey attitude. Stanley digs in his heels, but she’s determined to haunt him until he wakes up and rediscovers the joys of the season. He can start by being a little more neighborly to the single mom next door. In spite of his protests, he’s soon making snowmen and decorating Christmas trees. How will it all end?

Merrily, of course. A certain Christmas ghost is going to make sure of that!

••••••••

REVIEW: A LITTLE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT by Sheila Roberts is a contemporary, adult, stand alone, slightly paranormal, story of women’s fiction focusing on kindergarten teacher/single mother Lexie Bell, and her elderly neighbour / widower Stanley Mann.

Told from third person perspective A LITTLE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT follows two intersecting pathways in the days and weeks before the Christmas holidays. Single mom Lexie Bell is new to town and doesn’t know many of her neighbors. A slip and fall at the local hardware store finds Lexie unable to navigate the wintery streets on her own, and finds herself dependant upon her reclusive and elderly but reluctant neighbor Stan, a gentleman who has struggled in the three years since the death of his wife. Lexie’s six year old Brock, whose only grandfather passed away one year before, is pulled towards the neighbor, bestowing Stan with the moniker of Grandpa Stan. When a single father moves in across the road, Lexis and Brock’s attention is pulled from Stan, and placed on the man with whom Lexie will fall in love.

Meanwhile, Stanley continues to grieve the loss of his wife but late night visits by the spirit of his beloved, push Stan out of his comfort zone, and in the proverbial arms of a potential new family. But Stan commits a Christmas faux pas, and Lexie must do battle with her son in the aftermath, pushing Stanley out of their lives until a potential tragedy strikes at the small Bell family.

A LITTLE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT is a slow building, sweet and impassioned Christmas story line somewhere in the tone between A Christmas Carol and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Stanley Mann and his wife never had children, and in this, Stan struggles with the social graces towards family and kids. When the spirit of his dead wife continues to make nightly visits in an effort to push Stan our of his ‘funk’, Stan’s only desire is to reunite with his wife, keeping to himself, shutting out the world around. The premise is heart warming; the characters are animated; the romance is virtually non-existent and only implied.

REVIEW:ROYALLY CHOSEN CHRISTMAS is the seventh instalment in Elle Boon’s contemporary, adult ROYAL SONS MC erotic, MC romance series focusing on the members of the Royal Bastards MC. This is billionaire Scott ‘Hollywood’ Haven, and Talena Haven’s story line. ROYALLY CHOSEN CHRISTMAS can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion I recommend reading the series in order.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from third person perspective, following two timelines, ROYALLY CHOSEN CHRISTMAS follows the forbidden relationship between billionaire Scott ‘Hollywood’ Haven and his adopted sister Talena Haven. Approximately ten years earlier Scott Haven lost his step sister to a suicide following the revelations of sexual abuse at the hands of her father. Fast forward to present days wherein Scott, along with the members of the Royal Bastards MC come to the rescue of Scott’s remaining adopted sister Talena, a young woman whose penchant for street racing and trash talk has made her a target of a crazy man. Claiming Talena as his own, Scott Haven will ‘teach’ our heroine to behave and obey by introducing Talena to the Dom/sub lifestyle. As Talena and Scott’s relationship develops, a threat from the recent past demands retribution and payment for embarrassment and denial. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Scott and Talena, and the potential fall-out as Scott’s mother Tara finds herself facing a past long thought dead and gone, and Talena faces off against another man’s murderous rage.

The relationship between Talena and Scott begins as adopted brother and sister but secrets within the family lie dangerous and deep. Scott has always been protective of our story line heroine but as Talena grew into a mature young woman Scott’s feelings for Talena were anything but brotherly. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense with some scenes of spanking and light bondage.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line heroes, as well as Scott’s mother Tara, his step-sister Angela, her father Gary, and Lennox’ father Doc. The return of Roq, Axl, Ridley and Cannon from Royally F@*cked #6 prepares the readers for the author’s spin off DEMON SECURITY series.

ROYALLY CHOSEN CHRISTMAS is a story of family, betrayal, vengeance and love. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the romance is spicy and hot; the characters are charismatic and captivating but saying that I did have a few issues. Firstly, as this is my first Royal Sons/Royal B*stards story line I felt a little lost having gone in unaware of the history or backstory of the members of the MC, including our story line hero therefore I strongly recommend reading the series in order. Secondly, the story felt disjointed in parts, jumping between scenes without build up. Thirdly, as this is promoted and titled a ‘Christmas’ story line, the holiday was never referenced until the very end-if it hadn’t been for the final chapter or two, I would have never known it was a Christmas story.

REVIEW:CHRISTMAS EMBRACE is a contemporary, adult, novella in Kym Grosso’s Immortals of New Orleans erotic, paranormal, romance series.

Told from several third person perspectives CHRISTMAS EMBRACE follows numerous intersecting paths including the preparations for the Christmas wedding of vampire Luca Macquarie, and high priestess Samantha Irving; Sydney Willows, and Kade Issacson’s heart breaking struggle to have a family; and a gruesome murder investigation that points to demonic powers, drug trafficking and possible human involvement.

As Samantha and Luca’s wedding draws near, Sydney Willows struggles with the heart break of giving up an orphaned pup, a child whose mother returned after months on the run. Struggling with her new vampire lifestyle, Sydney has thought about the losses and gains but the loss of a child is what has hurt them the most. On the scene of a murder, Sydney finds the wolf pup stuffed in the trash, and along with the man that she loves, is determined to remain a family, one way or another. When the alpha reveals the child is most likely going to be raised by the wolves, Kade makes preparations in event of a ruling that may go very wrong for the woman he loves.

CHRISTMAS EMBRACE is a story of family and friendships; relationships, healing and love. The premise is heart warming and engaging; the characters are familiar, energetic and edgy; the $ex scenes are passionate and intense. CHRISTMAS EMBRACE sets the stage for a new direction in the series arc, a direction involving a power struggle for control of the supernatural of New Orleans.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 26, 2020

What’s the actual last thing you’d ever want your executive assistant to see you doing the morning after you had hot, drunk, angry sex with her in a terrible hotel room? Dancing around your terrible hotel room to “Come and Get Your Love” like Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy—naked? Yeah. Me too.

And yet, here we are.

This isn’t even the most unprofessional thing that’s happened between us in the past couple of weeks.

The first was when I agreed to let her have Christmas Day off, but only if she goes with me to three family gatherings as my fake girlfriend.
The second was when she caught me belting out a Christmas song on stage in the awful hotel bar.
The third was the hot, drunk, angry sex that followed, but I do not regret it.

And she hasn’t even found out the real reason I need her by my side this holiday season.

I need to pull it together before I do the dumbest, most unprofessional thing of all—fall head over heels in love with the only assistant who’s lasted more than a month at the job and claims to hate me and my moods more than she hates eggnog.

And I’ve seen how much she hates eggnog.

REVIEW: . A VERY BOSSY CHRISTMAS by Kayley Loring is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, holiday themed erotic, romance story line focusing on thirty-two year old, high powered attorney Declan Cannavale, and twenty-eight year old, executive assistant Maddie Cooper.

Told from three first person perspectives (Declan, Maddie, Piper) A VERY BOSSY CHRISTMAS follows the forbidden relationship between thirty-two year old, high powered attorney Declan Cannavale, and twenty-eight year old, executive assistant Maddie Cooper. Maddie Cooper is Declan Cannavale’s executive assistant, and as such finds herself facing a Christmas working in the office with her ‘Scrooge’ of a boss but a home visit from Declan pushes all of Maddie’s buttons when our hero reveals he needs a ‘fake girlfriend’ for the Christmas holidays, holidays to be spent in Cleveland, with his family back home. Unable to resist, Maddie agrees only to discover that the Cannavale family dynamic is broken by betrayal and mistrust. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Maddie and Declan, and the potential fall-out as their time together comes to a close.

Declan knows there is a ‘no fraternizing’ policy at work but our hero is desperate. He needs a plus-one, or more specifically a buffer, to shield him from the anger and heart break of sins of the past. From Christmas Eve dinner, to a rehearsal party and the wedding of one of his brothers, Declan pulls Maddie into a potential disaster, only to discover that his heart has fallen for a woman who fears her heart will be broken when the holidays are done.

The relationship between Declan and Maddie is a forbidden romance; a fake boyfriend/girlfriend arrangement between the boss and his assistant, an assistant who very much wants to keep her job but once the couple crosses the line between a working relationship into something more, the struggle is real when both families see the potential for a permanent connection, and Maddie sees nothing but the potential for problems at work. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. The sexual attraction is immediate and palpable.

We are introduced to a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and fun secondary and supporting characters including Declan’s rather loud and boisterous Irish/Italian family: sister Casey and her daughter Penelope; brothers Aiden, Eddie and Brady, and Brady’s fiancé Hannah, their parents Mamie and Tony, and Nonna Francesca and numerous cousins all raring to get down at Brady’s bachelor party- the frenetic back and forth energy between cousins is hilarious; Maddie’s sister Rebecca aka Bex, and her niece Piper; their parents Carly and Joe Cooper, as well as Maddie’s neighbour Mrs. Pavlovsky.

A VERY BOSSY CHRISTMAS is a story of family, relationships, forgiveness and love. The premise is engaging, clever and inviting; the characters are dynamic and real; the romance is spicy, flirty and seductive. A VERY BOSSY CHRISTMAS is a wonderfully, breath-taking and lively look at a forbidden relationship and another happily ever after.

ONE CHARMED CHRISTMAS by Sheila Roberts- a review

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 29, 2020

Catherine Pine is hoping her Christmas is a bit more jolly than last year’s. That one was her first without her husband, and with her kids and their families absent this year, she’s worried. But things change when her good friend invites her on a Christmas cruise to lift her spirits. Suddenly every day is an adventure and she’s making a bunch of new friends, including the lovable Sophie Miles.

It’s like a gift from Santa when Sophie and Catherine meet the charming Dr. Rudy Nichols, a perfect match for hypochondriac Sophie. But he comes with a two-legged lump of coal, his guard-dog daughter. And then there’s chocolatier Trevor March, who’s also interested in the scrumptious Sophie. Can he convince her that chocolate is the perfect cure for what ails her? Who knows what Santa has in store for these holiday travelers? Anything could happen this charmed Christmas!

•••••••••

REVIEW: ONE CHARMED CHRISTMAS by Sheila Roberts is a contemporary, adult story line focusing on several passengers who have embarked on a pre-Christmas holiday boat cruise through Europe ( or more specifically Germany).

Told from third person perspective ONE CHARMED CHRISTMAS follows sisters Sophie and Sierra, Dr. Rudy Nichols and his daughter Athena, brothers Trevor and Kurt March, and friends Catherine and Denise.

Breaking down the passenger agenda and backstory: Sophie Miles is a hypochondriac who reluctantly agreed to the European cruise when her sister Sierra’s husband bailed on his Christmas cruise tickets. Hoping to meet her future husband, Sophie will latch onto Dr. Rudy Nichols, a man several decades older but a man who has eyes for someone else. Meanwhile, Sophie’s sister Sierra struggles with the possible demise of her marriage, and begins to pull away from the other passengers, choosing to remain behind while the others play tourist.

Widower Dr. Rudy Nichols found himself attracted to widow Catherine Pine but Catherine is hiding a secret that will affect all relationships going forward. Catherine’s adult children wanted nothing to do with their mother in the face of her continued grief after the death of their father so Catherine’s friend Denise invited Catherine along for the cruise. Meanwhile, Rudy’s daughter Athena is a little over protective of her father believing him to be naive. Playing guard dog to her father, forty-something Athena makes more enemies than friends, and struggles to leave her father alone.

Chocolatier Trevor March agreed to the cruise when his brother’s girlfriend was unable to attend. Kurt March is chaperoning a history class of students on the holiday cruise but nineteen year old Harriett, one of the students, takes a liking to Kurt’s brother Trevor, and won’t leave him alone. Trying to distance himself from his brother’s class, Trevor finds himself attracted to Sophie Miles, a woman whose penchant for over reacting and believing she is going to die of any number of diseases pushes Sophie to follow Dr. Rudy like a love-sick puppy, in the hopes of marrying a doctor to cure whatever ails her.

In short: Harriett wants Trevor: Trevor wants Sophie: Sophie wants Dr. Rudy: Dr. Rudy wants Catherine: Catherine wants to survive another year: Athena doesn’t want anyone seducing her father: Sierra wants to save her marriage: and Denise is having the time of her life. Got it? Good. It’s like high school all over again !

ONE CHARMED CHRISTMAS follows several intersecting pathways where love will blossom for some but not for others but saying that ONE CHARMED CHRISTMAS has all of the ingredients of a YA (young adult ) novel, and in this I was disappointed with the attitudes and theatrics of most of the storyline’s unlikable characters. There are the jealous rivalries, mean girl comments, pouting and whining, secrets, lies, rejection and love. Poor Dr. Rudy was oblivious to his daughter’s attempts to keep Catherine and Sophie away from her father; and Sophie’s obsessive behavior regarding germs, illness and disease may have been funnier if not for the reality of COVID19 and the numerous deaths reported at sea. ONE CHARMED CHRISTMAS is a well-written story line but missed the mark with annoying and unpleasant characters that detracted from a potentially sweet plot.

•••••••

REVIEW: Miss Compton’s Christmas Romance is a delightfully told and wonderfully romantic adventure centered around the Christmas season.

Lenora Compton is twenty-four and has given up on trying to find a husband. She’s talked her father into giving her some of her dowry to invest in a shop to help her be independent. She rented a home and used the front part to set up her shop. Just before she was to leave for her sister’s home in Yorkshire for Christmas, a man came to her shop. Mr. Becker was not a pleasant man. He informed her he now owned the building and would be raising the rent to almost double.

She hated leaving, but her friends who worked for her, Kathy and Mildred were staying and urged her to go to her sisters for Christmas and they would take care of the shop. Still fuming in her mind about the horrible Mr. Becker and changes she knew she’d have to make to her business plan, she reluctantly set out.

At the coaching house, she found the carriage she’d be taking and began to take her luggage out to begin her ride. She saw a handsome tall man and recognized the man talking to him as the horrible Mr. Becker. She assumed this stranger would be of the same ilk as Becker. When her tried to help her load her valise she refused. She was strangely attracted to this man, but simply didn’t trust anyone who was friends with Mr. Becker. When she couldn’t manage, he smiled and helped her. He introduced himself as Mr. Dalton (Mr. Philip Dalton).

Okay, that’s the basic setup. There’s much more of course, but you need to read this to get the full and truly entertaining tale. What happens next on the trip is so much fun and truly exciting. How they learn about each other, misunderstandings and just pure attraction is what makes this story so delightful and a great read. Not a lot of unnecessary drama, just a good and exciting story of falling completely in love and how things work out is simply miraculous! Just in time for Christmas!

After the shopping and wrapping treat yourself to a sweet heartwarming romance with all the bells and whistles. Cuddle up with a copy of this great story and enjoy!

The Bull and Mouth coaching house was bustling with travelers buying tickets and preparing for departure while others climbed out of newly arrived coaches. Horses neighed and people shouted, pushing and shoving their way past each other, the loud noise occasionally drowned out by the sound of a horn.
Her mother would likely have a fit if she ever found out that her daughter had chosen to travel alone on public transportation. In the past, Leonora had always taken a hired carriage, but that was before she’d become aware of the need to save every penny – back when her parents had paid the expense. In hindsight, she should perhaps have asked one of her parents’ maids to accompany her as chaperone. Except she’d been leading an independent life for the past eight months and had little desire to suffer the constant presence of someone insistent on making her follow a long list of rules.
So Leonora clasped her belongings and wove her way through the crowd on her own. She’d purchased her ticket a week earlier just to be sure she would get one. “Where’s the coach for Sheffield?” she asked a team of hostlers who were in the process of switching out horses.
One of the men pointed toward a coach on the opposite side of the courtyard, and Leonora thanked him before hurrying toward it. Her breath misted in the chill morning air as she stepped around the vehicle and prepared to show the coachman her ticket. But then she spotted him, and her entire body froze in place. Mr. Becker was here, and he was standing next to her coach, which only made Leonora’s heart beat harder. Because if there was one person she did not wish to spend one more second with, it was him. Least of all if they were to be confined to a place from which there could be no escape.
Her chest tightened and she realized then that she was holding her breath. She inhaled sharply, the frigid air rushed down her throat and into her lungs where it started to burn. She hesitated briefly, torn between choosing to face him and walking away. He was speaking with a younger and much taller gentleman with dark brown hair. Mr. Becker smiled, his countenance far more pleasant than when he’d come to call on her earlier. The younger gentleman nodded politely and offered his hand which Mr. Becker promptly shook before tipping his hat, adding a comment, and walking away. The younger man watched him go before turning toward the coachman. The two exchanged a few words, and the younger man pulled out his pocket watch to check on the time.
Leonora stepped forward. Thankfully, it did not seem as though she would have to endure Mr. Becker’s company. Just that of his friend. Determined to ignore him, she walked straight past the spot where he stood, her entire focus on the coachman. Reaching him, she set down her valise and retrieved her ticket from her reticule.
“Thank you, miss,” the coachman said when she handed it to him. He glanced at her luggage. “That will have to go on top of the carriage or in the boot. Which do you prefer?”
“I’ll put it in the boot,” Leonora told him. She picked up her valise and turned, only to find her path blocked by what had to be over six feet of solid masculinity. Leonora looked up and immediately bristled upon realizing not only that the man was Mr. Becker’s friend, but that he, upon further inspection, had eyes that weakened her knees and lips that quickened her pulse. He was, as it were, impossibly handsome, and that was almost more annoying than anything else that had happened that morning.
“May I help you with that?” he inquired.
Oh Lord, his voice was lovely too – like plush velvet sliding over her skin.
Leonora squared her shoulders. “No thank you. I can manage perfectly well on my own.” She stepped around him quickly, before his angular jaw and broad shoulders could cause her to change her mind, and went to the boot. It already contained a trunk and a couple of other valises, which meant she would have to heft her own up and over in order to secure it. She glanced around. Surely there must be some Bull and Mouth employee available to help?
If they were, none came to offer assistance. Leonora blew out a breath and proceeded to lift her valise, bringing her other hand underneath it while her reticule dangled back and forth from her wrist. Feeling the weight in her arms, she steadied herself against the carriage, bracing her body while struggling to push the darn thing toward the top of the boot.
“Are you sure you don’t need help?” the handsomest man in the world inquired.
“Absolutely,” Leonora panted. She was now holding her valise at shoulder level, supporting it against another valise that was in her way. Just a few more inches…
“Have you always been this stubborn?”
“I am not stubborn…just…” Ugh! She managed to wedge her shoulder underneath the valise, but its size and shape made it unstable, and before she could manage to steady herself properly, she felt the entire thing lean to one side. Oh no. She reached up attempting to grab it, but that only quickened the inevitable outcome.
Her valise slipped from her shoulder and started to fall, until it was caught by a pair of large hands.
Like Thor wielding his mighty hammer with seemingly little effort, Mr. Becker’s friend lifted the piece of luggage with infuriating ease and placed it securely in the boot. He stepped back and turned to face her, his toffee-colored eyes catching a ray of rare winter sunshine in the process. The effect was dazzling. More so when the edge of his mouth lifted to form a crooked smile with a perfect dimple placed right at the corner.
Leonora swallowed. For heaven’s sake, her hands were trembling, though she quickly decided that this was from her recent exertion and not at all because of this handsome man’s attentions. She had no interest in him, she reminded herself. Not when he kept company with the sort of man who would happily force a woman from her home and place of business during Christmas.
Deciding she would not allow him to divest her of her manners, she raised her chin and met his gaze boldly. “Thank you, sir.”
His smile broadened. “Mr. Dalton.” He glanced aside for a second before returning his attention to her. “Mr. Philip Dalton. How do you do?”

Chapter One
How did I get talked into this? Looking back, I know exactly where things went sideways. I should have skipped that last mimosa.
It started with Roberta’s retirement party. She wasn’t exactly the likable sort—kind of stodgy, rigid. But she was also like everyone’s grandmother, which is why everyone tolerated her. That and she made an amazing pineapple upside-down cake that made everyone look forward to the monthly potluck.
I would miss those cakes, but Roberta was eloping with some Polynesian guy she’d met in one of those outdoor yoga sessions, and apparently, it was love at first downward dog.
So yeah…
Seventy-year-old Roberta found love, and here I am, thirty-four, single as a Pringle, and not a prospect in sight. Hence the drinking. And also why I’m standing here in front of the storage closet while Travis rummages through dusty old boxes to find the Santa outfit I somehow got roped into wearing.
I am severely displeased.
The first thing I did when I arrived at the office this morning while nursing a hangover was tried to get out of it. Travis wouldn’t hear of it. Apparently, every year they get some poor schmuck to agree to dress up and play Santa to the kids down at the children’s hospital, and it usually falls to the newest member of the team.
Since I was hired in just after the New Year, that poor, unsuspecting fool happens to be me.
Plus, I’m the only one, supposedly, who doesn’t have out-of-town plans. I’m “it” by default on more than one level.
Lucky me.
“Found it!”
I snap to attention as Travis climbs over boxes on his way over to me, holding a mass of red fabric over his head like a trophy.
I groan, depressed at the thought of having to put that thing on. I can already smell the mothballs. “Just what I need to make it look like I put on an extra fifty pounds instead of ten.” It’s a holiday tradition, eating cookies and fudge and pies. My sweet tooth cannot be denied, so every year I pack on a little extra insulation to get me through the cold winter months.
Travis gives me a flirty smile and wink as he hands over what I now realize is a lot less red than I’d originally thought. “You’ll look anything but fat in this, trust me.”
The way he said that makes me completely distrustful of him. Narrowing my eyes, I reluctantly accept the offering, shaking it out as I say suspiciously, “What is that supposed to me—oh…”
This is not the Santa suit I’d expected. It’s…well… “I think you went to the wrong costume shop, little buddy,” I say sarcastically, because this has to be a joke. “I think you need to go back in there and find the rest of it.”
Travis’s smile is positively wicked now. “That is the rest of it.”
My eyes widen, and I look at it again. “Where did you find this thing, Strippers R Us? I can’t wear this!”
Like the asshole big-brother-type that he is, Travis playfully pokes the end of my nose. “You sure can, hon, and you’ll do it with a smile on your face and merry little laugh, too.” Closing up the closet, he locks it back up and brushes by me. “Make sure you dry-clean that thing before you put it on. It’s been around the block a few times.”
His mockingly jolly laugh makes me want to sprint after him, tackle him to the floor and jab my elbow into his ribs a few times. But as much as we were all family, office violence was just as frowned upon by human resources as workplace romances.
I’d just have to find my revenge another way. Until I did, it looked as though I was cursed to play Mrs. Santa.
