ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 11, 2023

A demigod ready to commit for eternity. A god who isn’t ready to commit at all. An unseen danger that may kill them both.

For centuries, I’ve traveled the realms, fighting wars, providing peace, causing havoc and everything in between. I’ve also sown my wild oats across those realms, taking pleasure when and where it’s offered. It’s a work hard, play harder lifestyle but I’m just the demigod to do it.

Zora is the god of Life but before that she was a mortal held captive, growing up without love or affection. Raised in the pits of Hell, she was a pawn in a sinister plan to destroy the world. Tossed into the life of an immortal deity, Zora is understandably closed off and confused about who she is and where she fits in. But the one place she fits perfectly is in my bed and the more time I spend with her, the more I’d like to keep her there permanently.

My attempts to win over the ethereal beauty are thwarted when a nefarious plan begins to unfold, leaving Zora missing and me scrambling to solve a mystery no one saw coming. As an immortal, time is of little importance but becomes a precious commodity where saving Zora is concerned.

I’ve lived centuries never knowing true love, but I know one thing with absolute certainty—Zora is what I need to complete my eternal life. Now I need to make sure she lives long enough to realize the same about me.

REVIEW:THE RUIN OF GODS is the eighth instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s adult CHRONICLES OF THE STONE VEIL paranormal/fantasy/mythology series. This is demigod Maddox, and the god of Life and Death Zora’s story line. THE RUIN OF THE GODS can be read as a stand alone but for back story I recommend reading the series in order but more specifically books one to five where Zora’s story begins. Zora is the sister of Finley Porter books one to five.

SOME BACKGROUND: Abducted at birth, raised in the Underworld as a human, Zora knew nothing but darkness and hate until the day of her twenty-eight birthday where she will come face to face with the sister she never knew. Sacrificing her life to save her sister, Zora would awaken a goddess, a goddess who continues to battle between head and heart with what was and what will never be.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Zora and Maddox) THE RUIN OF GODS follows goddess Zorasha aka Zora, as she struggles with her new found powers. With the ability to revive the recently deceased but an ability that requires the consensus of the gods, Zora is hoping to save Maddox’s brother Lucien from eternal damnation in the Crimson River but all is not well with the veil between the Underworld and the First Dimensions, and the gods have other issues to consider in the wake of a potential war. Old enemies seem to rise from the dead or escape their magical prisons, and in this the gods are at risk including our story line heroine. What ensues is the ongoing but struggling relationship between Maddox and Zora, and the potential fall-out as the all powerful Blood Stone goes missing, and the fight for power forces Zora to consider everything going forward.

The relationship between Zora and Maddox is a friends to lovers to frenemies to broken hearts as Zora struggles with her direction going forward. For one year, since coming into her powers, Zora and the demigod Maddox have had a mutual agreement and attraction that is slowly destroying Zora’s heart. Zora is a goddess, wandering aimlessly through life, and she believes there is no place in her life for love or our story line hero. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and powerful gods and goddesses, Light and Dark Fae, many of whom we have me in the previous story lines: Zora’s sister Finley and her mate, King of the Underworld Carrick #1-5, Thalia and Bastien #6, Nyssa and Amell #7, as well as several gods and goddesses: Veda (god of Humanity) , Onyx (god of Conflict), Cato (god of Nature), Circe (god of Fate). The requisite evil is familiar and has many faces.

THE RUIN OF GODS is another complex and detailed story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, influence and magic, acceptance and love focusing on mythology, gods and goddesses, Fae and demons.. The fast paced premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are powerful, mythological and often mad.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 6, 2022

Even kings who serve at the whim of gods break the rules every now and then.

As the newly anointed king of the Underworld, I’ve worked hard to clean up the mess left behind by my predecessor. The realm is in relative peace at the moment, my main focus now on deciding the fate of recently departed souls. It’s a tediously boring task, and honestly, one I despise doing. But just when I think I can’t stand another moment of the monotony, one soul changes it all.

Nyssa McKnight earned her ticket to Hell. She made her choices and even at the prospect of eternal damnation, she doesn’t seem to regret the actions that led her here. I can tell by her utter defiance that life has hardened her, a trait that has carried over to her in death. She should be begging me for mercy but instead calls me a “big old winged bat”. I should toss her right into The Crimson River for her insolence but instead I think I’ll keep her in servitude.

While I struggle to reconcile the intrigue—and attraction—I have for this human, I am forced to spend my days investigating rumors of an uprising in the Underworld. Unfortunately, my desire to keep Nyssa has provided a weak spot for the rebellious Dark Fae looking to gain control, one they’re quick to act on. Now, with Nyssa in danger and my throne threatened, I will stop at nothing to restore order, even if it means letting her go.

Can Amell, the king of the Underworld, find true love, or is he destined to rule alone until the end of days?

••••••

REVIEW: THE MIDNIGHT REALM is the seventh instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s adult CHRONICLES OF THE STONE VEIL paranormal/fantasy/mythology series. This is Amell, King of the Underworld, and twenty-six year old human bartender Nyssa McKnight’s story line. THE MIDNIGHT REALM can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storylines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Amell and Nyssa) THE MIDNIGHT REALM focuses on the acclimation and survival of Nyssa McKnight in H*ll. Having lived a life of demons and darkness, Nyssa takes a life, before ending her own. Waiting for her judgment, Nyssa is defiant until the end, an end that never comes when she finds herself saved by the King of the Underworld, the man with whom Nyssa will fall in love. Amell doesn’t know why he saved Nyssa from the Crimson River but Amell knew that Nyssa was about to upend his world in more ways than mattered. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Nyssa and Amell, and the fall-out as Nyssa is targeted for who she is, she was, and who she will never be.

Amell’s punishment for interfering in the laws of the gods is to spend eternity serving judgement from his throne in H*ll but Amell never expected to meet his future in the guise of human Nyssa McKnight, a woman with more spunk and fire than anyone he has ever met. Amell’s control of H*ll is about to be tested when the Dark Fae take aim at the woman with whom he is falling in love.

The relationship between Amell and Nyssa begins as prisoner and jailer. Nyssa has no idea why she was saved from the Crimson River of fire but going from the proverbial fire back into the frying pan means serving a man who is about to control her life. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including many we have met in previous story lines: Amell’s daughter Thalia (The Shadow Princess 6), god of life/death Zora, demigod Maddox; Dark Fae Truett, and his sister Sorcha, as well as several other Light and Dark Fae. The requisite evil has many faces.

THE MIDNIGHT REALM is another detailed and complex addition to Sawyer’s CHRONICLES OF THE STONE VEIL series, a series wrapped in mythology, angels and demons, Fae, daemons and demons, gods and goddess, power and control, betrayal and vengeance, jealousy and death. The fast paced premise is intriguing, intricate and captivating; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are powerful , energetic, charismatic and determined.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 2, 2021

Life as I knew it ended the day I accepted my fate.

In its place is an existence even the wildest imagination could never fathom. Strange creatures walk among us, plotting our demise, and I’ve come to find that the fate of our world rests squarely on my shoulders. We’re all in danger and I’m trying to figure out how to make it through each day.

The key to my survival is a man I can’t figure out. As dangerous as the darkest fae, I have no choice but to work with him to stop the prophecy that’s foretold to be the ruination of mankind.

Carrick Byrne continues to be my only source of information, but he doles it out as he sees fit. He intrigues and scares me in equal measure, yet I can’t help but be attracted to him. And the more I discover about him, the more it becomes clear he feels the same.

As we travel to Faere in search of answers, we find that every piece of information leads to more questions, that every question leads to a new piece of the puzzle, and that, most importantly, no one can be trusted.

The more secrets we uncover, one thing is certain— if we have any chance of saving the world, we have to do it together.

A Discovery of Secrets and Fate is book two of the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series and is best enjoyed if read in series order.

REVIEW:A DISCOVERY OF SECRETS AND FATES is the second instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult CHRONICLES OF THE STONE VEIL paranormal/urban fantasy series focusing on twenty-eight year old Finley Porter. A DISCOVERY OF SECRETS AND FATES should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one THE REVELATION OF LIGHT AND DARK.

SOME BACKGROUND: All of her life Finley Porter has been treated for hallucinations but days before her twenty-eighth birthday Finley is pulled into a world of the Light and Dark Fae by a man who stirs something deep within our story line heroine. An end of the world prophecy declares our heroine the savior, and in this Finley struggles with her fated destiny.

Told from first person perspective (Finley) and third person (Carrick Byrne) A DISCOVERY OF SECRETS AND FATES picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one (The Revelation of Light and Dark) in which on her twenty-eighth birthday Finley Porter is pulled into a destiny of which she wants nothing to do. The appearance of a powerful Dark Fae forces Finley under the protection of Carrick Byrne, a protection of which she refuses and denies but the Dark Fae aren’t going to stop with our story line heroine, but begin targeting the people she loves the most. In an effort to get answers, Carrick takes Finley to the land of Faere where our heroine will discover the hatred and discrimination directed at humans is not much different than the hatred many people experience on Earth. With her past revealed, and the future not yet set in stone, Finley and Carrick return to Earth where they will have to begin preparations to save the world.

Sawyer Bennett pulls the reader into an intriguing and fascinating world of the Light and Dark Fae. Finley Porter is a stubborn, oft-times immature heroine, and a little TSTL (too stupid to live) but when the reality of her situation threatens not only her life but the lives of the people she loves, Finley must pull up her big-girl panties, and prepare for the fight of her life. Like most urban fantasy series, there is a definite sexual tension between Finley and Carrick but Carrick reveals the truth about his future, and his future does not include our story line heroine. A DISCOVERY OF SECRETS AND FATES ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
