ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 10, 2024

When life is too much, and you can’t hack it, what do you do?
Go back home, right?
It’s just the logical thing to do.

At a young age, I learned that Kentbury is kind of magical—and great at maple syrup.
I packed my things, drove to my parent’s house and …
I found Sinclair McFolley— irresistibly brooding, and dangerously handsome.

He and his siblings took possession of my childhood home.
What the f. . . obviously it’s a mistake.
It wasn’t.

So now my plans are to either go back home or stay in Kentbury helping the McFolleys with their summer camp.
It’s all fun and games until feelings start getting in the way.
Challenges turn into opportunities.
And suddenly the summer fling I never planned on might become the romance of a lifetime.

Maybe Kentbury isn’t just a place to escape to—it’s where I was meant to find myself all along.

REVIEWClaps hands dramatically-đź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź

Summer in Kentbury is here! I loved it, it was so sweet and warm, the love story was so happy. SIK is the fourth installment in the series, each book can be read as a standalone, but they do each loop into one another.

While this book read like a quick novella, the story was anything but rushed. Lavender and Sinclair are a couple that I can see myself coming back to read many, many times. And best of all? It’s a small-town, (somewhat) enemies to lover romance with all the best swoon moments.

Sinclair is a workaholic, a very typical (in the best way) alpha man, who doesn’t think love is worth much of anything. Enter Lavender, all smiles and sunshine, who believes in love at first sight. When these two get together there is nothing but sparks, chemistry and a great giggle. If you are looking for a happy, quick summer read then this book is for you!

There should be a rule against having an existential crisis before breakfast.
Is this even considered an existential crisis though?
“My ex is marrying the woman he cheated on me with, and they’re trying to use our business to fund their wedding.” I grimace as the words leave my mouth, the bitter taste of reality lingering on my tongue. It sounds like a cheesy line for a new romcom starring Jennifer Aniston, and . . . no wait, she’s more like my Aunt Mary’s age. Hmm . . . Who would star in my life if it were a movie? Zoey Deutch, maybe?
I shake my head, a wry smile tugging at the corners of my lips. I don’t think anyone would want to be me. Not when my life is like a jigsaw puzzle with some of the pieces scattered on the floor, and others missing. I’m left trying to figure out how to put it all back together.
I’m looking at my phone again. No, not just a glance, a full-on death stare. The screen lights up my face in the dimness of my too-quiet, overly-tidy apartment in New York. There, plastered across my social media feed, is Theo—my Theo, or at least he used to be until about six weeks ago when he told me he wasn’t marriage material.
Obviously, he had some kind of life-altering epiphany since now he’s engaged to her. I roll my eyes, a bitter laugh escaping my lips as I imagine him suddenly discovering the meaning of life and true love in the arms of another woman.
He’s all smiles, hugging her, Marissa, my friend and first employee. Also, the woman who apparently seems to understand him better than me. Which is exactly why it’s no surprise to me that he started fucking her way before we broke up—unfortunately for them, I found out about their affair while my security guy was upgrading the cameras in the store. There were several videos of them doing more than just the inventory.
My jaw clenches as I grip the phone tighter, my knuckles turning white. I can feel the heat rising in my cheeks, a flush of anger and humiliation spreading across my skin.
I hope Marissa understands that her new fiancé can’t keep his dick in his pants. Okay, I’m being petty, but how can I not be when the man I spent more than two years with is now getting engaged after telling me that . . . he couldn’t see himself being attached to just one person for the rest of his life?
I let out a bitter laugh as I read the caption under their cozy, engagement-photo smiles: “Excited to start our new journey as partners—in life and in LuxLumens, our bespoke lighting design venture.” Bespoke lighting designs. Of course. Because custom lamps are exactly what you need to overshadow the regularity of betrayal. I roll my eyes, feeling the sting of tears threatening to spill over.
Fucking thief.
I throw my phone down on the couch beside me. It bounces slightly, and the screen still aglow with the nauseating post. Mocking me. Every part of me wants to scream, to throw something more substantial than a harmless pillow against the wall. They didn’t just betray me—they’re angling to take my career, too.
LL is my brainchild, my designs, my . . . I grab my phone again and take a screenshot, emailing my lawyer, who’s supposedly working on my case. He swears it’s going to be okay. They can’t claim this is their business when I have proof that all Theo did for me was work weekends and a few nights to help me—and I paid him a salary.
I take a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart as the uncertainty of my future hangs over me like one of those overly dramatic rain clouds in a cartoon.
There’s absolutely no way I’m letting Theodoric Everett Standish—Theo to those who don’t want to waste five seconds of their life pronouncing his full name—waltz off with my designs or the business I’ve built from the ground up over the last four years. I’ve already compensated him for his time, which, by the way, was more of an educational internship than a partnership. He doesn’t deserve another dime from me.
I glare at my phone, seething. This doesn’t look like him walking away peacefully. It’s more like a “screw you, Lavender Imogen Wilde, and good riddance to your so-called future.” I feel a lump in my throat threatening to evolve into a full-blown sob fest, but I force it down. Tears? No, thank you. I refuse to cry over someone who once asked me if the overhead lights in our studio were solar-powered.
Seriously, who does he think he is? I practically taught him everything he knows about bespoke lighting design. Okay, maybe not everything—nobody’s perfect—but close enough.
The phone buzzes, jolting me from my spiral of doom and gloom. I snatch it up, my heart doing that annoying skip-a-beat thing when I see Ruby’s name flashing on the caller ID. My sister has this uncanny sibling Spidey-sense. She always calls at just the right—or wrong—moment.
“Did you see it?” she blurts out before I can even manage a hello. Trust Ruby to cut right to the chase.
“Saw it, hated it,” I manage to say, my voice wobbling just a tad. I inhale sharply, trying to sound more outraged than crushed.
The audacity of this man. How can he think he can take my company right from under me?” I start pacing, my steps thumping heavily on the floor. At this rate, I’m a stomp away from getting a noise complaint courtesy of the neighbor below.
“You need to calm down while we figure out how to stop this nonsense. He won’t be able to take your business away from you without a fight,” Ruby assures me over the phone.
“I live in a city filled with anxiety. This is my livelihood. Pray tell . . . How can I relax?” I ask, my free hand gesticulating wildly in the air as if she could see my exasperation.
“Maybe you should go home to Kentbury for a bit. Take the time to reset and reevaluate the direction you want to take in your life and business. It’s peaceful, it’s summer, the lake’s warm. Even when Mom and Dad are off gallivanting in Madrid, I’m sure they’ll be okay if you go there for a few weeks—or months. You loved it there. Plus, you’d have the lake house all to yourself,” she suggests, her tone light, almost teasing. As if I could throw a party and they’d never find out.
Kentbury. The mere mention of our small hometown, tucked away in the rolling hills of Vermont with its charming lake brimming with childhood memories, tugs at a part of me that’s been lying dormant. I close my eyes, remembering the carefree summers spent at the lake house, the laughter echoing across the water as we swam and played.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 18, 2024

They say never mix business with pleasure.

As a single father, and the captain of the Seattle Sasquatches, I’m adamant to keep every corner of my life separate and running perfectly.

That is, until Indie Decker walked into my life.

She’s the team owner’s little sister, my new nanny, and so completely out of my league.

Our first encounter? Pure fire, clashing wills with a passion that ensnared us both. Our second? A tentative truce, maybe even a budding friendship. But at some point, we slid recklessly into a ‘friends with benefits’ arrangement, thinking we could stay casual.

Wishful thinking, I know.

With each passing day, our no-strings-attached fling starts weaving threads between us that I’m not ready to cut. Indie’s fierce independence clashes with my need to protect, to heal, and to love her despite her warriness to open up.

But will my steadfast will and soft hands be enough to get through her defenses? Or am I doomed to sit in the penalty box of Indie’s heart?

REVIEW:Hot Hockey romance…âś”! Claudia Burgoa continues her wonderful world building in the next installment in the Decker Family series. This is first and foremost a hockey-sports romance but it also is a single father/falling for the nanny genre. The book can be read as a standalone, like the majority of the books in the series with no spoilers.

-Side note, these names are bonkers, but I am just living for them!-

Tuberius “Ty” Byrnes is single Dad, maga hot, star captain of the Seattle Sasquatches, he’s grumpy, he’s surly. He’s good at his job, the one thing he doesn’t do is mix business with pleasure. Or so he thought, until his new Nanny walked through the door.

Indigo “Indie” Decker is a woman with a past, one that she is still struggling with but surviving everyday. She’s sassy, strong and oh so stubborn and doesn’t take anything B.S from anyone. She follows the rules she has set for her life down to the fine line, but one little glance from a tiny little girl and her sasquatch of a father has her rethinking those rules.

Ty and Indie have such chemistry together, when little Myra joins the group cavities ensue with how sweet they are together. They needed each other in different ways, but how they each helped one another open up and share what needed to be shared and deal with the issues of the past to move on, well it was so perfect to read. Ty wasn’t giving up on Indie no matter how hard she tried to push him away, he knew that he needed to be there for her, and Indie (once she got over her stubborn streak) was with the person she needed to be with to finally heal from her trauma.

Overall I really enjoyed the book, as I do with this author and her amazing story telling. I’ll be curious to see what she does with the next set of love birds. đź’•

Prologue
Indie
Love is, for some, the ultimate dream. For me, it’s a waste of time.
Romance is nothing but heartache as far as I could see.
Don’t believe me? My biological mother couldn’t live with herself after my biological father died in a car accident. The doctors were able to save me through an emergency C-section. She hadn’t been able to bear the grief and loss of my father. I may have survived, but she did not.
I was a lucky girl, though. Jacob and Pria Decker offered to foster me from the moment I took my first breath.
They were in the NICU for the first three weeks, then took me home, hoping one day they would be able to adopt me. There’s a happy beginning to that story. Soon, I became Indigo Faye Decker—Indie for short.
Mom and Dad have shown me all about family and love. They love me just the same as they do my siblings, even if I don’t share their blood. That kind of love is easy to understand. The romantic one . . . well, in my opinion it sucks.
It’s a lie.
It breaks people, and some don’t even survive—like my mother. If that’s not enough, take one of my oldest brothers, for example. Gabriel lost his first girlfriend at the age of sixteen. He was utterly devastated for a long time. Then came Ameline, and though she brought a smile to his face, it disappeared when she moved across the country to create a new life. That type of love broke him into a million pieces.
Then there’s my sister Harper. Her fiancé was physically, emotionally, and mentally abusing her for years. That worthless piece of trash had destroyed a part of my vibrant, confident older sister.
Who wants to be with someone if, at the end of the day, they’re going to make you feel useless? Not me.
I wish I could say this was just me being an observer, but I once was in love, and he . . . Well, he destroyed me.
The first time I saw him, he was a whirlwind on ice, a blur of navy blue, gold, and white. His sheer talent made my heart race faster than the skaters on the rink. His name was Frederick, and in the glow of the rink lights, he seemed more myth than man, a hero in a hockey jersey. He was my oldest brother Jude’s friend. Freddie was a fixture in our home, but to me, he was untouchable, a dream wrapped in the harsh reality of ice.
“It wasn’t just his skill that captivated me. It was the easy laughter, the way his dark brown eyes crinkled at the edges when he smiled, and how he seemed to fill any room he entered with an infectious energy. To everyone else, he was Freddie, the talented hockey player destined for greatness. To me, he was the guy who made my heart do somersaults every time he ruffled my hair and called me “kid.” If only I’d known the kind of man who lurked beneath the surface.
But as the years slipped by, the gap between Freddie and me seemed to shrink. I went from being Jude’s annoying little sister to someone he actually saw. Our conversations stretched beyond the polite small talk, delving into dreams, fears, and his future. A future I wanted to be a part of. His hopes for the big leagues, knowing the scouts that were already circling. I hung onto every word, secretly dreaming of a future where I was more than just a spectator in his life.
After graduating, he still came around our house to visit us. Though, secretly I always thought it was me who he was looking for. Our friendship grew as I became older. At least, that’s what I thought.
And when I started college, we texted often. Then, there was that one day when his team was in New York to play, and he came to my little studio apartment after the game. I felt so lucky.
Lucky that he had finally turned those dark eyes in my direction. Lucky that we were finally crossing the line from friends to more. At first, I thought my luck had finally turned, but I couldn’t have been more wrong.
He finally saw me as Indie.
I wasn’t Jude’s little sister.
I wasn’t the girl with the childish crush.
He saw me as me—someone who saw him, not just the hockey player, but the boy who laughed too loud, who loved cheesy horror movies, and who had the power to make my heart race with just a glance.
The innocent eighteen-year-old full of love still remembers that night.
When an unexpected visitor had turned my quiet evening upside down. Someone had knocked on my door. When I opened it, it was him, Frederick. I knew the Boston Blizzards were playing the New York Guardians that night but seeing him on my doorstep . . . something shifted in the atmosphere of my small, art-filled space. There he stood, looking effortlessly charismatic.
“I hope I’m not intruding,” he’d said, his voice carrying that familiar warmth, tinged with an edge of something more—excitement, perhaps, or anticipation. “I couldn’t be this close and not see you.”
His words, simple as they were, struck a chord deep within me. It was as if, in that moment, he truly saw me.
“Hey, Freddie,” I said as I finally found my words.
“Finally, I get to do this,” he said, his voice deep and commanding as he closed the distance between us. Before I could react, his lips were on mine, demanding and forceful. I froze, unsure of how to respond. This wasn’t the gentle, tentative first kiss I had imagined. It was something else entirely.
He pulled back, his eyes searching mine for a response. I couldn’t find my voice, so I simply stared at him, my heart still racing. He took this as an invitation, and his lips were on mine again, this time with more urgency.
My mind was reeling. This was wrong, wasn’t it? But at the same time, it felt so right. His hands roamed my body, igniting a fire within me that I had never felt before. I couldn’t help but respond, my own hands exploring his muscular frame.
I winced as he pushed my panties down, his fingers grazing my skin. I wasn’t ready for this, was I? But it was too late to turn back now. He was already unbuttoning his pants, revealing his impressive length. I gasped as he entered me, the pain sharp and intense.
“Stop, please, stop,” I whispered, my voice barely audible over the pounding of my heart, but he didn’t listen to my plea. Instead, he dove deeper into his own urgency, his movements became more frantic, as if trying to escape from something within himself rather than connecting with me.
That night marked the end of my love story, the kind of ending that doesn’t make it into the fairy tales. It was the night he finally kissed me, the night I thought would seal our love, but instead, it unraveled the very fabric of my being. It was as if he took everything from me, leaving me hollow.
I chastised myself, laughter bitter and hollow resonating in my mind. How could I have been so naïve? To believe that he could ever love me was foolish. He proved as much when, after he was done, he walked away without a backward glance. The one time I dared to reach out to him, he coldly told me to leave him alone. Claimed he was too busy for a “child” like me. He even threatened me with a restraining order if I dared to contact him again.
Love, I’ve come to realize, is a fool’s game. It tempts you with promises of forever, only to leave you shattered in its wake.
Haunted by the fear of ending up like my biological mother—to unlife myself after the loss of the man she loved—a cascade of nightmares began to plague me. Night after night, they serve as a cruel reminder of my stupidity, transforming my life.
Despite the mayhem that boils within me, I strive to live a semblance of a normal life. Yet, when the night falls and the world quiets, the fear of closing my eyes is palpable. The darkness isn’t just the absence of light. It’s a canvas for my deepest fears to paint their horrors.
But in the light of day, I wear my mask well. Everyone in my family just thinks that I have debilitating anxiety, which interferes with some aspects of my life. Yet, I still smile, I laugh, and I pretend that I’m okay. Despite the fact that beneath the surface there’s a constant battle raging—a battle to find peace with my past, to forgive myself.
Of course, I tread carefully, guarding my heart against the possibility of being shattered once more.

Every night, I find myself caught between dreams and wakefulness.
Yearning for a past that slips through my fingers.
Each night, whisper prayers into the darkness.
Longing for just one kiss, one more touch . . .

Longing for her.

Maybe forever is a lie.
The truth is that tragedy will always break your heart.
But maybe, this time, I can build something greater out of tragedy.
Maybe . . . just maybe love isn’t as lost as I once thought.
And maybe forever might still happen to me

REVIEW:The Truth About Us is the second and final installment of the Impossibly Possible duet, and Oh my Goodness what a worldwind. This series is filled with drama and emotion, the author took this series in a different direction than I was expecting, but what a way to go.

THE TRUTH ABOUT US takes us back to where book one ends, so reading the first in the series is very much recommended, there is far too much that happens in book one that the reader will need to know for book two. The book continues with Ameline and Gabe, we see Ame is back to help her sister, but Gabe..Gabe is living like a ghost. It’s sad to see, but as the book progresses and we get the reasoning behind their separation, what really happened, a new picture starts to form.

So much can be said about the storytelling of this duet. The characters are intense, the plot is captivating and the story itself is heartbreaking in a way that makes you want more and more with every word. Gabe and Ame started off so young, and being that young they didn’t know how to talk to one another, how to be in a relationship, how to make it last. They were just too young. Years later, they get their second chance, and after everything they have to go through to be together again, the heartbreak, the lies and the pain, all to have each other back again. Watching Gabe come back to life, the light in his soul reignite was everything, him taking the time to win back Ame’s heart after everything they had been through, it made everything worth it. There two are soulmates, and after everything, I am so pleased they were able to find their HEA.

Gabriel
In the silent hours of the night, under the gentle glow of the moon, I lie awake, my heart filled with a deep sense of longing and loss. My dreams weave together the words of a prayer, a melody that blurs the lines between being awake and asleep.
Each night, as I close my eyes, I enter a realm painted with the colors of memories and desires. “I pray that my eyes awaken with the light of your gaze,” I whisper softly.
In this world, my wife’s eyes shine like stars, guiding me through the darkness of my grief.
I dream of days filled with laughter and nights enveloped in the warmth of shared dreams. In these dreams, I pray that you stay by my side and never leave me, my love.
I plead into the night.
In these dreams, she is there, as real as the ache in my heart.
Yet, each dream reminds me of the moment that broke my world. The dreams are a harsh contradiction, offering glimpses of a love that remains just out of reach.
As dawn nears, my dreams shift, creating visions of a future that might have been. I see children playing in the sunlight, their laughter filling a home brimming with love—a love I had hoped to share with her.
I pray for our children.
I pray for her heart.
I pray for us.
But as the first light of morning filters through the curtains, reality gradually returns. I wake up to a world that seems murkier, a life that feels incomplete. Yet, in the quiet moments of awakening, I cling “to the dreams, the prayers, and the love that keeps her memory alive in my heart.
I pray for one more second of life to give to her and my whole heart to surrender. I promise as I rise to face the day. In my heart, I know that every heartbeat, every breath, is a tribute to the love we shared—a love that, even when I pretend it never existed, remains strong.
And so, I navigate the delicate balance between reality and dreams, carrying within me a prayer that transcends time and space.
And if I die, let it be of love, knowing that in the end, it is love that infuses everything with meaning—love that will guide me through the darkest nights and into the light of a new day.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 29, 2024

Lightning can strike the same place more than once.

The first time, it robbed me of my high school sweetheart. Shattering our forever.

I was just sixteen. Too young to understand the medical jargon that meant she was gone. Too naĂŻve to see that forever was nothing but a fairytale.

Now, years later, I meet Ameline. I tried not to fall in love, but it was impossible. She gathered all my broken pieces and put me back together. I knew the only way to keep myself intact was never to love again. But I fell for the illusion of forever once more. At least until I lost her.

Now I’m left questioning everything. What does forever mean when it’s built on a foundation of pain and loss? How do you move on when lightning keeps targeting your heart? Why bother believing in forever when tomorrow isn’t guaranteed?

•••••••

REVIEW:The Lies About Forever is the first in the Impossibly Possible series by Claudia Burgoa. The blub for this book was the most perfect grab to get my attention, and get my attention it did.

TLAF is a quick emotional read that keeps its reader on their toes through the very end. This book, in what I would guess would have to be at least a duet, is filled with love, family drama and hot smexy men. It does start off with a feeling of reading a young adult/new adult romance as the main characters are in their late teens and early twenties.

The Decker family really starts feeling like family as the story progresses, and the siblings make it what it is. In this book we get Gabriel and Ameline’s story to start, it is fast paced and interesting as the plot unveils itself. So much happens so quickly, but overall the story is easy to keep up with.

“She gathered all my broken pieces and put me back together” This sentence was one of the best parts of this book, and I think the most relatable too. The cliffhanger got me, and wow how ready was I to throw my kindle across the room! (I didn’t) Ms. Author, I would like to politely request book two as soon as possible please.

REVIEW:Famous Last Words are emotions. Every emotion is raw and real, Ms. Author has a way of drawing them out with her stories, and this one is even more true. FLW is a second chance love story, filled with love, loss, drama, family and second chances. This book was so hard to put down that I finished it in one sitting.

Seraphina “Sephie” and Brahms story starts when they are children and stretches to adulthood where they find each other again. When tragedy strikes them early in life, they are torn apart, misunderstandings and family drama causing more and more issues between the two of them. Much of their early story involves Sephie’s family and a horrible plane crash, and Brahms’ involvement in it. There is so much suspense in this as the storyline chances between the present and the past memories of the two main leads.

Now; seven years later, Brahms’ life is at a tipping point. He gets into a bad accident and his brother reaches out to Sephie for help. She is a highly skilled physical therapist, and one of the only people that can get through the thick skull of Brahm. Brahm however is more than just messed up from his accident, he is also messed up in booze and drugs. He is truly living up to the out of control music man.

The plot continues quickly, characters are reunited, Brahm finds his truth, and long ago secrets are revealed. Most importantly, both Sephie and Brahm are finally able to heal their relationship and move on with their lives. There is a pretty big plot twist that I didn’t see coming, but wow, just amazing! The ending and epilogue to Famous Last Words had me in absolute tears, this book was so emotionally freeing and the book hangover I currently have is so real! I really applaud Ms. Author for the amazing work she has shared with the world with FLW.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 8, 2024

What do you do when you’re tired of being the loser?
You make up the perfect fiancé, of course.

I know it sounds desperate, but hear me out.
In my family, everyone is someone.
But me? I’m just a small-town librarian with no prospects and no future.
At every family reunion, my older sister reminds me of that fact.
So when she announced her own upcoming nuptials, I knew I had to act fast. I needed a fake fiancé to bring to the wedding and prove that I was happy and successful too.

Enter River Kershaw, the town playboy.
My bestie Wren suggested him, and I was hesitant at first.
He’s the complete opposite of me: a charming extrovert.
But I can’t deny that he’s tall, strong, and hot.
I know it’s a risk, but I’m determined to show my family that I’m just as happy and in love as they are. Even if that means pretending to be with someone who’s totally not my type.

I’m ready to give the performance of a lifetime.

REVIEW:Dirty Secret Love is the second installment in the Heartwood Lake Billionaires series. These books can be read as standalone, but why not read the series. DSL is a fake love/fiancé genre that brings all the best parts of storytelling.

Sutton is truly the black sheep of her family, no matter what she does she is never enough for them and their judgmental ways. The fact that she strives to live her own life away from them and their money makes them judge her all the more. So what does she do? She makes up the perfect fiancĂ©. A perfect man right out of her own imagination. Now that they are coming back to Heartwood what is she going to do? She’s going to find a man to play her fiancĂ©, that’s what. And maybe she knows just who to ask…

River is a Heartwood native, as is his family. When tragedy strikes his family, he returns to his hometown to be with his extended family, not that he cares for them all that much. He is eager to return to his life in Washington DC. Heartwood was never a place he thought he would return to, but family has a way of dragging you where you don’t always want to go. When Sutton makes her plea to him to act as her fake fiancĂ© in front of her family, he turns her down quick as spit. That is until her mother finds her way into Suttons workplace AKA the library and treats her absolutely horrible in full view of everyone. Then he agrees to help her.

These two may not want a real relationship, but there is no denying the chemistry and heat that is between them. River and Sutton slowly start building a foundation of trust that neither are able to believe will become more complicated. As always though, in any good story, it does. The more time they spend together, the more they learn, the more they want from one another, feelings emerge and by the end you are dying for more and more.

This was a great read to start off the new year! I’m very excited to see what this lovely author has coming for us next.
