Told from dual first person perspectives (Piper and Chad) GREAT PRETENDER follows in the aftermath of a social media nightmare wherein former professional football quarterback, and soon to be team owner, Chad Holdsworth finds himself making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The relationship between Chad and Piper is a friends to lovers, a fake boyfriend/girlfriend relationship that will quickly turn into something more. Chad and Piper have only ever shared one previous kiss, but Chad is about to make up for lost time with the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate and intense. Saying that, the relationship does not get sexual until about the 80% mark.

We are introduced to Chad’s best friend and co-worker Murray, as well as Piper’s father, her co-worker Elodie; Piper’s former boyfriend Heath; Chad’s father Richard Holdsworth; his cousin Georgiou, and Chad’s ex Tiffany Carmichael.

GREAT PRETENDER is a predictable story of family, relationships, friendship and love. Chad had been a bit of a wild child, believed to be spoiled by his father’s standards but our hero has placed himself in the direct line of fire. The premise is entertaining; the romance is sweet and seductive; the characters are charismatic and impassioned.

This is construction worker/ Indigenous Navajo American Ed Mescal, and B&B owner Piper Warren’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Ed and Piper) FEARLESS REBEL focuses on the second chance relationship between construction worker/ Indigenous Navajo American Ed Mescal, and B&B owner Piper Warren. Five years earlier, Ed Mescal was imprisoned for a crime he did not commit but racism, bigotry and discrimination were, and continue to be a problem in Ed’s hometown of Midland Grove. Fast forward to present day wherein, the charges have been dropped, and the sentence turned over in favour of our story line hero but with his reputation in ruins, and Piper, the girl he once loved continuing to believe the lies, Ed finds himself caught in a town cloaked in secrets, spiralling out of control, with questionable people at the top. I wanted more than obits—I wanted to report on real news, to prove myself, and even to work in the face of danger. A girl’s got to have dreams.

I needed a break. A big one.

So, I was getting an interview with Talbot Richardson if it was the last thing I did, whether I had to beg, borrow, steal, or… even take my panties off.

REVIEW: Slick Senator by Mika Lane is a part of the Cocky Hero Club Series, and as a fan of that series I found this a quick and fun read. After reading a few of Mika’s books before, I was extremely excited to get my hands on this one.

Talbot Richardson is the youngest Senator elected in the United States, his Alma mater; George Washington University and currently caught up in a high-profile scandal. A baby scandal. Every reporter and journalist in the country is after his story, but there is only one that holds his attention.

Cricket Curtain (what a name!) is a small-time obit writer from the Washington Chronicle looking to branch out and make a name for herself. After letting it slip that she and the new hot Senator went to the same University and were friends, her editor assigns her to get the inside scoop. Only one problem…..she may have fibbed just a little. She and Talbot were not friends, he was her crush, and he did not even know she existed. Now she had to find away to get her story, no matter what.

What a steamy read! This book has it all, great chemistry, sassy scandal scenes, lusty love moments and even a few cuddly puppy ones. After reading this in a single setting, I found myself hitting Youtube to watch my own cute puppy videos. Best of all it ends with a HEA!
