ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 15, 2019

We’re a match made in hell, Stefan and I.

He took me to exact his revenge. I went from being a pawn to my father to being a pawn to Stefan. The only difference is I have a ring the size of a boulder on my finger and a husband I don’t want.

And the hardest part is I thought he was different. I thought I was falling in love.

I guess my father was right. I’m not a very smart girl.

Stefan is a powerful man. He doesn’t play nice, not if you’re his enemy. But I’ve learned one thing about my husband.

He takes care of what’s his.
And I am his.

His enemies have become my enemies, but he’ll never let anyone hurt me. He’s fiercely protective. It’s the predator inside that scares me.

REVIEW: DAMAGE is the second instalment in Natasha Knight’s contemporary, adult COLLATERAL DAMAGE erotic, dark, mafia romance duology focusing on the head of the Sicilian Sabbioni family, twenty-nine year old Stefan Sabbioni, and eighteen year old Gabriela Marchese. DAMAGE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of book one COLLATERAL.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers including questionable consent, discipline and violence.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Stefan and Gabriela) DAMAGE continues to follow the acrimonious relationship between on the head of the Sicilian Sabbioni family, twenty-nine year old Stefan Sabbioni, and eighteen year old Gabriela Marchese. Gabriela Marchese is a pawn in the world of the Sicilian mob. As payment for her father’s debt Gabriela Marchese is a bird in a gilded cage but a bird who is somewhat naïve and struggles with what was, what is and what will be. Constantly looking for a way to escape her captor, Gabriela finds herself jumping from the proverbial frying pan into the fire, a jump that places her in the hands of someone trying to take control. What ensues is the building but dysfunctional relationship between Gabriela and Stefan, and the potential fall-out as someone else is determined to take over the mantel as head of the Sicilian mob.

The relationship between Gabriela and Stefan is dark and flawed. Gabriela is nothing more than collateral damage; a forfeiture for sins of the past but a woman who continues to battle for her freedom regardless of the threats and potential for harm. Naïve and often TSTL (too stupid to live) our heroine places her trust in the wrong people, time and again, trust that will be destroyed at every turn. The $ex scenes are erotic, intense, dramatic and controlling.

The colorful secondary and supporting characters include Stefan’s right hand man and cousin Rafa Catalano, his father Francesco Catalan; Rafa’s cousin Clara; Gabriela’s father Gabriel, and her brother Gabe; and Stefan’s housekeeper Miss Millie. Here’s hoping the author has plans for Rafa’s story.

DAMAGE is a character driven story of family, betrayal, vengeance and retaliation; a story of blood, power, ascendance and control; of secrets and lies. The premise is dark, suspenseful, thought provoking and edgy; the characters are broken and tragic: the romance is disturbing, often heart breaking but passionate. DAMAGE is a startling and emotional dark romance with a twist that I suspected early on.

Excerpt:
It’s midnight when we’re back at the house and I carry her to my room. She doesn’t resist when I strip off her clothes, her underthings still damp, and put her in the shower under a flow of hot water. I strip too and step in beside her and there’s no resistance when I kiss her. When I take her in my arms and kiss her as the water washes sea salt from us.She opens to me and I cup the back of her head. I don’t ever want to stop kissing her. Don’t ever want to stop holding her like this. When the water begins to cool, I switch off the shower and dry her then myself before lifting her up and carrying her to my bed. I lay her down and lie down beside her, shifting so I’m on top of her but keeping most of my weight on my forearms so I don’t crush her.I slide one hand down and cup the mound of her breast. I run my fingernail over her nipple, and she moans into my mouth. When I pull away, it’s to look at her.

She licks her lips, reaches up to touch my cheek, slides her hand down to my chest and sets it against my heart.

We don’t talk. We don’t say a single word. Not for a long while. We just kiss and kiss and look at each other. And I can’t get enough of touching her. Tasting her. Can’t get close enough to her.

“Christ, Gabriela,” I start. “I want you.” I roll off her and onto my side to slide my hand down over her belly.

She cups my cheek, touches her mouth to mine. “Kiss me again.”

I do.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 23, 2019

Gabriela

Stefan Sabbioni showed up in my bedroom on my sixteenth birthday. Uninvited, he stood in the shadows smelling of whiskey and death and wrapped a broken, blood-crusted necklace around my neck.

I thought he’d strangle me with it.

That night, he left a message for my father. He said he’d be back to take something precious.

I never delivered that message, though. I wonder if things would be different if I had because now, two years later, he’s back. And he’s not hiding in any shadows.

He’s come to make good on his promise.
He’s back to take that something precious.
Me.

Stefan

Marchese is the manipulator of my family’s tragedy. I won’t just bring him to his knees. I’ll bury him for what he did.

Taking his daughter is only the beginning. I’ll do it knowing I’m starting a war. I’ll do it knowing my enemies will become his allies. They’ll stop at nothing to destroy me and he’ll stop at nothing to get her back.

I’ve never shied away from war, though. I’m not one to play nice and I don’t share my toys. I’ll demolish you if you touch what’s mine.

And she is most definitely mine.

REVIEW:COLLATERAL is the first instalment in Natasha Knight’s contemporary, adult COLLATERAL DAMAGE dark romantic, mafia suspense duet. This is head of the Sicilian Sabbioni family, twenty-nine year old Stefan Sabbioni, and eighteen year old Gabriela Marchese’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Stefan and Gabriela) COLLATERAL focuses on a payment for a debt. Two years earlier Stefan’s brother Antonio was brutally murdered, and Stefan is determined to make everyone pay starting with Gabriela Marchese, the daughter of his enemy, and the woman he is hoping to destroy. Young and naïve, Gabriela has always been the pawn in her father’s game with family, friends and business acquaintances, and now Gabriela has become collateral damage in the most dangerous game of all. When her father signs over her life to Stefan Sabbioni, our heroine battles between head and heart going from one ‘prison’ to another. Her life no longer her own, our heroine begins to reflect on what has happened and why, believing she can no longer put her trust in any man.

Gabriela Marchese is immature and naïve, and her actions and emotional outbursts breed contempt with our story line hero. Unable to accept her current consequences, Gabriela begins to search for clues, looking for a way to escape. Friends will die; lives will be threatened as Gabriela seeks help from a dangerous source. Stefan Sabbioni only knows that vengeance is his to inflict following the grisly murder of his older brother. ‘Taking’ Gabriela Marchese is only the first step on his road to retribution but falling for the young beauty was never in the plans.

The relationship between Stefan and Gabriela is acrimonious and tempestuous. There is no romance, no love, only Stefan’s thoughts and desires to make Gabriela his own; and Gabriela’s need to escape her ‘gilded cage’.

We are introduced to Stefan’s cousin and right hand man Rafa, as well as his housekeeper Miss Millie: Gabriela’s father Gabriel Marchese, and Gabriela’s best friend Alex Romano.

COLLATERAL is a character driven story of family and betrayal; revenge and retribution. There are plenty of hints as to past behavior and events including the death of Gabriela’s mother, and her brother’s debilitating situation, hints that barely scratch the surface of what happened and why. The premise is intriguing and captivating; the characters are desperate and broken; the romance is virtually non-existent. COLLATERAL ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
