ABOUT THE BOOK: Release April 2, 2013

In the nineties, Abigale Applegate and Zach Barnes were the most beloved sitcom child stars in the world. Then they grew up and left Hollywood behind…

Whatever happened to Abigale Applegate?

She’s been wondering the same thing.

With her Hollywood dreams long gone, Abigale now has a nice, neat, uncomplicated life—until the day her perfect fiancé needs to talk. Dumped, a little more than shattered, and totally confused, Abigale turns to Zach, her best friend since forever, to help her pick up the pieces. He does it with a gift—a copy of Wreck This Journal. She can vent her frustrations, and sketch out a new plan. Zach just hopes he’s part of it. Because he’s been in love with Abigale his entire life.

When the journal falls into Zach’s hands, he discovers Abigale wants a new man. And fast. Nothing more than a hot distraction. Zach has a strategy, too. He’s going to be that man. It’s his last chance. Abigale might be out to shake up her life, but Zach’s out to reinvent it. Now, all he has to do is convince Abigale that life can go as planned

*********************

REVIEW: Wrecked is a storyline about two friends-Abigale and Zach-who have known each other-forever. Brought together as child stars headlining the sitcom KATE and NATE Abigale and Zach each left the Hollywood lifestyle behind when the show was cancelled. Zach went on to do bit parts but finally went back to school and pursued a successful career as a tattoo artist. Abigale filed for emancipation from her overbearing, money-hungry mother at seventeen and fled.

Abigale is one of those people who made lists- a bucket list-of sorts where she would list what she wanted to accomplish before she reached the age of thirty-marriage, children, love: and Abby thought she found the perfect man until the day he revealed he wanted KATE-the star-and not Abby-the caterer.

Throughout the story, Shiloh reveals a lifelong friendship that developed between Zach and Abby-a friendship that was more for Zach. And like many storylines, Abby was oblivious to Zach’s feelings. Zach was always there for Abby and when her fiancé dropped the bomb, Zach was there to pick up the pieces. He offered Abby a personal journal to write about her feelings, her needs and, her wants-Wreck This Journal-and Zach soon discovered that Abby wanted a torrid affair. Zach was going to make sure-he-was part of that affair.

The storyline is about two people who love each other and the realization that there is more. Everyone knows that Zach has loved and has been in love with Abby since they were children but Abby has worn ‘virtual blinders’ to Zach’s affections and feelings. Not wanting to push Abby away Zach has waited on the sidelines –forever-hoping one day that Abby would open her eyes and see the man who will promise her the world.

The secondary characters are colorful and in many ways an integral part of the storyline. From Abby’a overbearing and controlling mother to Zach’s extended family of loving brothers and co-workers at ‘Steel Ink’. There are several potential future storylines, especially as it concerns Zach’s brother and I hope Shiloh has many ideas flowing through her pen.

WRECKED is a wonderful, sometimes heartbreaking, head-nodding look at two people who belong together and the eye opening realization that everything you have always wanted may be sitting next to you, watching the late night movie, sharing tears and buttered popcorn. Congratulations to Shiloh Walker and WRECKED.

ABOUT THE BOOK; Release Date April 7, 2013

Iris Tarango is a small-town girl from the wrong side of the tracks; she’s also a decorated former Marine who fought hard to become one of Red Stone Security’s most respected agents. But her perfectly ordered life is turned upside down when she’s assigned to guard the sexy, dominating tycoon she shares a secret history with. The instant Iris walks back into the billionaire’s diamond-studded orbit, the wild attraction flares between them…and her reputation, objectivity, and heart are in trouble.

After an attempt on his life, business magnate Wyatt Christiansen calls in major favors to hire Iris as his bodyguard. He knows she’s the best, though he has another motive too. He sees this as his final chance to win her heart. But when danger spins out of control, all Wyatt can think of is getting Iris out of harm’s way—even if it means losing her love in the end.

Unfortunately, the killer seems to know their every move. If Wyatt and Iris don’t figure out who put out the hit, they’ll lose more than their chance at happiness together.

************

REVIEW: BREAKING HER RULES is the sixth installment in Katie Reus’s RED STONE SECURITY series focusing on the men and women who work in high tech security and risk their lives for the people they love. Each of Katie’s storyline couples has a history and a past together and, Breaking Her Rules is no exception. Iris Tarango and Wyatt Christiansen grew up together in poverty-he with an alcoholic father and she with a single mom who refused to be tied down to any man. Life experiences make Iris and Wyatt whom they are today, but both with a military background will find them guarding and protecting each other from the bad guys as well as themselves.

Without giving away a major hook in the premise, Iris and Wyatt have known each other since they were young and unbeknownst to Iris, Wyatt has been in love with Iris since he was fifteen years old. They have always kept in contact with each other, whether on deployment, assignment or across the world, but one year earlier when Wyatt had been unable to contact Iris, his heart and his soul knew that he would never be able to live without the woman he has loved all of his life.

The storyline and their relationship becomes complicated when Red Stone Security is asked to protect Wyatt Christiansen after an attempt at his life is discovered by his staff. Wyatt ‘s business in casinos, hotels and computer software have made him a target, but with that comes the knowledge that perhaps someone from his military past is seeking retribution or revenge. Knowing Iris is employed by Red Stone Security, Wyatt specifically asked for Iris hoping to get some one of one time with the woman he loved. But things go from bad to worse, when several more attempts against Wyatt’s life leave two members of the security team dead and a distraught Wyatt when Iris is kidnapped and held for ransom.

BREAKING HER RULES is another fast paced and amazing storyline by Katie Reus. Unlike most of her previous novels in this series, there is little to no involvement with the heroes and heroines from past books. Wyatt Christiansen is a man in love, knows what he wants and will do whatever he can to ensure the woman he loves is kept safe and by his side. Iris is a strong heroine who is afraid to lose everything she has worked for throughout her life, but is willing to give love a chance with the man who literally is bound to her heart and her soul. I am a big fan of Katie’s Red Stone Security series and Breaking Her Rules is another welcome read. You can feel the need, the passion and the love as Katie writes a storyline about two people who have always known they belong together.

Truth or dare…

When Lacey Garrity finds her groom in flagrante delicto in the reception hall closet with her bridesmaid, she’s saved by her best friend’s older brother—childhood tormentor, crush, and boxing bad boy Galen Thomas. Galen’s solution is both exciting and dangerous. What better way to forget the mess of her life than go on her honeymoon with a hot guy who can’t promise anything beyond today?

…or TKO?

Galen had been counting on Lacey’s wedding to put her out of reach—and out of his mind—once and for all, but their steamy Puerto Rican escape is testing all his boundaries. Now that Lacey’s embracing her inner bad girl, Galen is tempted to throw in the towel and claim her for himself. But with the biggest fight of his career on the line and an important business merger threatening to derail Lacey’s resolve, their romance might be down for the count before it even begins.

****************************

Review: DOWN FOR THE COUNT is the first storyline in Christine Bell’s new contemporary romance series Dare Me. This is Lacey and Galen’s story.

What do you do when you find your husband of two hours ‘doing it’ with your friend and bridesmaid in the storage closet at your wedding reception? Well if you are Lacey Garrity, you have your BFF handle things at the hall while your teen ‘crush’ whisks you away on his motorcycle to the family cottage for an evening of drinking and revelation. But when Lacey and Galen wake up in Puerto Rico, on what was supposed to be Lacey’s honeymoon, Galen is determined to help Lacey discover her inner vixen. Slightly tight laced and stoic, Lacey was never one to push the envelope, but with Galen by her side, Lacey soon learned to let go of her pent up years of frustration and family rule.

Lacey ‘s marriage can only be described as a merger. Hoping to merge two high profile legal firms, Lacey’s mother had made it her life’s ambition to ensure the man to whom Lacey would marry was of good breeding and pedigree. And to Lacey’s astonishment, her mother (aka The Admiral) refused to accept anything less than perfection. But when Lacey’s mother pointed out that even her marriage wasn’t all roses and candy, Lacey wondered if she had made the wrong decision. Hoping to give Lacey time to think, Galen leaves only to discover that Lacey is the only woman who can mend his broken heart.

The relationship between Lacey and Galen is both romantic and hot. Lacey knew Galen to be the popular boxer with women clamoring for his attention, and Galen only wanted one thing permanent in his life-Lacey. We watch as Galen gets Lacey to let go of the past and her inhibitions to discover the real woman hidden just below the ‘good girl’ façade. Galen wanted to show Lacey a good time and prove that he is the man for her.

I liked that Lacey didn’t whine about her the circumstances in her life and she was a woman willing to try something different to prove (to herself) that she was worthy of love from the right man but she did have some emotional baggage with self-esteem issues brought on by a tyrannical mother who refused to allow Lacey her independence. In this, Lacey was a means to an end for a business transaction and nothing else. And Galen with his tough exterior was the perfect man to bring Lacey’s hidden sexual kitten to the surface and allow her to discover what it was in life she really wanted-and it was Galen.

DOWN FOR THE COUNT is a fast paced, sweet storyline of betrayal, romance, fun and finding yourself in the one person you had always dreamed would one day be yours. There were a few moments where Lacey steps outside of the box and jumps into ‘vixen’ mode too fast, but overall the storyline was a fun read with the usual cast well-meaning friends, interfering mothers and the realization that your heart and soul belong to the one person who that can make you laugh and cry at the same time. There was nothing earth shattering or thought provoking in the premise, but a storyline with a little bit of heartbreak, a little bit of sex and a whole lot of romance between two people who have probably loved each other for a lifetime.

Arouse

Amazon / Barnes and Noble / The Book Depository

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release December 24, 2012

“One day I’m going to touch you in a thousand different ways and show you how to touch me,” he said.

And he did.

Struggling with a tormented past, undergraduate Olivia Winter once led a practical but isolated life. Then she met Professor Dean West, a brilliant scholar of medieval history who melted Liv’s inhibitions and taught her the meaning of both love and erotic pleasure. But after three years of a blissful, lusty marriage, Liv and Dean now face a crisis that threatens everything they believe about each other…and sex might not be enough to save them.

***********************

REVIEW: Arouse is the first story line in Nina Lane’s new Spiral of Bliss contemporary romance series. Nina takes the reader on a journey of one couple’s spiral into a world of jealousy and betrayal, hidden secrets and the raw purity of first love. It is a story that will break your heart, shatter your dreams and fight for two people that belong together-above all else.

Dean and Olivia (Liv) have been married for three years but the day Liv asks the one thing of her husband that she had never asked before throws the couple into a vortex that widens and deepens with every hurtful word, and secrets from the past that are seen as an act of betrayal.

The ensuing story follows Dean and Liv as the tension between the couple threatens to destroy the love they have for one another. As Liv’s life slowly begins to unravel she is determined to find out why the love of her life is so adamant about not pursuing her suggestion only to discover he has hidden a secret that begins to destroy the very foundation on which their current life has been built. In the ensuing days, a breakdown in communication and the building animosity finds Liv and Dean searching for something that neither one was willing to face. Letting go is the hardest thing.

Many couples will face a time when the breakdown in communication threatens the marriage as well as the mental and physical health of the individuals. Nina Lane’s story of love and loss pulls the reader into the burgeoning chasm (of an emotional journey) that may be too large to overcome.

The story is told in three parts; first person POV in the heroine’s voice using present day and flashbacks to tell the story of Olivia and Dean’s love story and heartbreaking sorrow. Part three is written from both Liv and Dean’s POV as we are privy to Dean’s internal turmoil and dialogue and, watch as he slowly realizes that the secret that he kept may very well destroy the only person he has ever loved.

Nina Lane has written an amazing story that will resonate with every reader: from the deepest love two people could ever explore to the collapsing of a relationship.

Allure (Book #2) in the Spiral of Bliss series is due to be released in April 2013.

REVIEW

4 out of 5 for this reader folks!

Well well well! What a pleasant surprise this book turned out to be! I have to say I really admit that The Dumped Club by Ally Symmons was FAR BETTER than I thought it would be. From reading the synopsis I thought this was going to ooze serious angst, boo hoo’s and sniff sniff’s. Oh yes it had some of that, but there was some great story development, character growth, HOT SCENES, and serious hatred for .. *AHEM* certain A-Hole ex.

So I will lead into the review by posing this question. Can two heart broken people engaging in the wrong kind of rebound actually make a right????

Mardi Stewart is in a relationship that she believes is heading in all the right directions. After being together for quite some time, she sits down to have a cup of coffee with her Mr Future only to be told that he is not only MARRIED, but is expecting a baby with his wife! GASP! Oh and that she has to just deal with it, leave the apartment he purchased for them by the end of the week, and quit her job as he is her boss. He also does this in the most aggravating snide manner and smiles through it! If I could of jumped in the story, this is where I would of … GGGRRRR, oh never mind this review has to be kept somewhat PG!

Then there is Rob Fulton. I love great male leads, and I crushed on Rob through this entire story! He is recently back from England after a heart break of his own (although it isn’t overly exposed in the book), and is really interested in sharing a “friends with benefits” relationship with Mardi (although a much better vulgar term is used ..LOL). They are both nursing broken hearts and what better way to ease the pain than with pleasures of the flesh!

Off they go in this relationship, and while they are enjoying each other physically, they are really supporting each other and becoming fast and furious friends, and much more. Either of them just can’t seem to realize that they are actually taking the next step without even trying! UNTIL …. A-Hole (I hated him that much that I refuse to type his name) comes back into the picture and uproots this budding relationship.

I don’t want to go into this story any more than that, as this isn’t a long book, so there has to be some element of surprise for you. Just know your blood will boil on so many levels.

I want to write more about what I thought of Mardi. At first I really felt bad for her but then found that I wanted to smack her back to reality and ask her when she got so weak. I would also like to ask her why in the world she would put all her “eggs in one basket”? Why did she put up with what she did? Was she that naive, or that in love?? I loved reading her growth in self confidence and self discovery. When she begins to practice old thinking and actions I could of shook her with my frustration but don’t worry .. SMART MARDI breaks through and I cheered her on all the way!

I did feel the ending was a little rushed. Again, without going into too much, a bomb was dropped within the story and I would have liked to have read more of Mardi really dig deep to tackle it head on. I think she deserved a far more dramatic “stick it in your face A-Hole” than she received.

I think Ally Symmons has a great future as an author and if she publishes again I will for sure purchase her books. She has a great natural flow to her writing and develops believable characters, in believable situations!

So again .. can two heart broken people engaging in the wrong kind of rebound actually make a right??? YOU BET YOUR A$$ THEY CAN! 😉

Description:
Lori “Naughty” Sullivan finally falls in love in ALWAYS ON MY MIND, the new book in Bella Andre’s New York Times and USA Today bestselling series about the Sullivan family.

After a tragic loss three years ago, Grayson Tyler left his life in New York City behind and started over in the rolling hills of the California coast. He’s convinced himself that all he’ll ever need again is the blue sky, a thousand acres of pasture, and the crashing waves of the ocean. Until one day, Lori Sullivan barges into his life and promptly blows his emotionless and solitary world to shreds, driving him crazy as only a woman nicknamed “Naughty” can. But will Lori be able to convince him that it’s safe to love her…and that forever isn’t actually out of reach?

Review:

Always on My Mind continues Bella Andre’s wonderful The Sullivans series. This one belongs to the last Sullivan, Lori, who has not found her true love.  We have been waiting for Lori’s (Naughty) story for awhile, and Andre does not disappoint.

The story starts with Lori running away from her job, heartbroken and trying to escape going home to face her family. Lori who is tough, fun loving, beautiful and a professional dancer, decides to do something that was totally different for her.  She ends up at a farm, and meets Grayson Tyler, our hero.  Grayson, has been building up his ranch for three years, having himself run away from the tragic death of his wife.   When Lori asks for a job as a farmhand, he refuses at first. She who was still dressed in her dance outfit, did not look anything like a farmhand, not to mention being a woman.  But when Lori is determined and wants something, no one can stand in her way.  Grayson, who prefers his privacy, allows Lori to tryout, and then is forced to hire her, much to his dismay.

Both begin to notice that each is running away from something, but it is the strong unstoppable Naughty Lori, who becomes way more then Grayson can handle. Neither wants any commitments, but both find themselves totally attracted sexually, which is totally hot. Of course, this is Andre’s trademark, hot hot hot sexy steamy love scenes, and Lori and Grayson are no different.  Whew!

Andre does such a wonderful job showing Lori in a different light.  Watching her do chores, especially with the pigs was hilarious, and I totally loved loved her scenes with Mo (sweetpea), the cat who adopted Grayson three years ago, and is now dying of leukemia.  Lori loved Sweetpea with all her heart, and made the last weeks of the cat’s life one of pure joy.  So well done.

Watching Grayson and Lori discover themselves, as well as open up to each other was wonderful.  He tried to be gruff, unbending, and she would offset that by being her perky self.   Grayson didn’t know how to handle Lori, and little did he know, his days were numbered.  I got a kick out of the dance Grayson took her to in town, as many treated Lori with distain, until she won them over, teaching the young teenagers the line dance she created for her show.  As always, she won them and Grayson over.

This was such a great romance, especially with Lori being in a different environment, and finding things about herself.  I loved her and Grayson together, and Bella does such a wonderful job with this fantastic romance.  The last ¼ of the book was terrific, and we get to see all the Sullivans together again; in fact twice in one book…. Awesome.

Always on My Mind closes out the first arc of the Sullivan family, and with the success of this series, Bella is now extending it further, bringing in another Sullivan relation (cousins) in the next story.  The wonderful news from Andre, is that Mary, the matriarch of the original Sullivans, will have her story told.  If you have not read this series, what are you waiting for?  This is a fun, sexy, at times erotic romance of wonderful couples and a fantastic family.

GOODREADS –About The Book: Released January 11, 2013

He’s going in deep to make her his…

Struggling artist Sheridan Harper never imagined she’d spend a sizzling night with Jared Quinn, the smoking-hot star quarterback of her local professional football team, the San Jose Hawks. And she’s even more shocked when Jared’s publicist offers her a proposition: a fake marriage to keep Jared out of the gossip mags. Being that close to Jared would be too tempting, so to protect her heart, she insists on secretly including a clause forbidding sex between them.

Jared just wants to keep his starting QB job and keep it in San Jose. His reputation as a ladies’ man has landed him in the headlines one too many times, but there’s something about his kind, passionate new wife that tempts him beyond reason. Any sort of intimacy between them is completely forbidden, but as their bodies fall in deep, will their hearts follow suit?

********************

REVIEW: GAME FOR MARRIAGE is the first storyline in Karen Erickson’s new Game For it series focusing on a team of professional football players and their love lives or lack there of. This is Jared and Sheridan’s storyline

Jared has a reputation as a lady’s man but one that has been tainted by a scandal that has rocked his team as well as his personal and public life. Hoping to clear up any misconceptions, the team publicist/lawyer hopes to arrange a ‘marriage of convenience’ where both parties will benefit in the end: Jared’s reputation healed and the ‘bride’ will come away with money to spare. Following a one night stand with struggling artist Sheridan Harper, Jared and his legal team propose a marriage of convenience whereby after one year, both will go their separate ways.

As you can image, this is a contemporary romance storyline and our married couple will eventually fall in love. But there are many hazards and complications involved with a marriage in name only especially the clause of ‘no sexual contact’ added by Sheridan. Hoping to keep the arrangement professional, Sheridan didn’t realize that her growing attraction to her new husband included losing her heart to a man now suffering on the playing field as well as in his personal life.

The relationship between Jared and Sheridan is sexually charged as well as filled with tension and some heartbreaking moments especially when Jared discovers the who behind the ‘ no sex ‘ clause. When their secret marriage is discovered to be a ruse separation seems to be the only answer–Jared will continue to suffer on the playing field and it will the woman who has stolen his heart that must rescue the man with whom she has fallen in love.

GAME FOR MARRIAGE is a cute, charming romantic storyline about two people who belong together but because of a clause in the contract must suffer the rejection and heartbreak that only true love will know. When they finally acknowledge their love for one another, the journey will have been well worth the reward.

She learns they were placed in the Federal Witness Security Program when she was five years old. Her father was involved in an art forgery ring and testified against the mob. Brought up not to trust anyone, Olivia has a difficult time relying on U.S. Marshal Ethan Ryder to protect her, and to keep her secret. She fears her father may have continued his life of crime through her art gallery. She has little choice but to depend on Ethan when she realizes someone is now after her. Olivia’s search for the truth leads her and Ethan across country to a family and past she doesn’t remember.

At the age of ten, Ethan witnessed a brutal murder. He vowed when he grew up, he’d protect people in danger. Protecting Olivia is difficult when she won’t trust him. He soon realizes his desire to protect her goes beyond doing his job, but if his judgment becomes clouded by emotions, her safety could be jeopardized.

Can Ethan and Olivia learn to trust each other when they uncover secrets that will change their lives forever?

***********************

REVIEW: IDENTITY CRISIS is a contemporary romance storyline with a little suspense, a little mystery and a little romance. Our heroine Olivia will discover that her entire life has been based on a lie when a personal letter, written from her dead father, reveals that they have been in the Federal Witness Program for close to twenty four years. And to complicate matters, her father was involved in one of the biggest and most expensive art forgery scams involving the mob and millions of dollars in fraudulent paintings. Olivia has been schooled in the arts and now owns a very prestigious art gallery.

As an agent with the US Marshall’s office, Ethan Ryder has already lost a fellow agent and one witness in the protective custody program. Blaming himself for the losses, Ethan endeavors to keep Olivia Doyle safe but begins to wonder if Olivia’s own art gallery is somehow connected to her father’s past. Hoping to protect Oliva, Ethan agrees to help her return her father’s ashes to the place of his birth but along the way he will lose his heart and his sense of duty when he has Olivia investigated as a possible connection to a recent series of art forgery and sales.

Identity Crisis is a fascinating storyline of one woman’s discovery that her entire life has been built around a government lie to protect her father and herself from the mob. Throughout the story, Olivia’s early memories are triggered by the sites and sounds of the family she never knew existed prior to a few days before. But a string of suspected burglaries, break-ins and hostage takings, all leading back to Olivia and her father’s past, has Ethan circling around Olivia fearing for her life. When Olivia finally meets the family she never knew she had, a surprising twist in her father’s past will have Olivia wondering is she ever knew her father and if her mother’s death is to be blamed on someone close.

IDENTITY CRISIS is a well-written storyline that brings two people together that would never have met under ordinary circumstances. Ethan Ryder will compromise his position as a US Federal Marshall when he uncovers Olivia’s secrets as well as opening up about his own troubled past. This story is about two souls lost in a sea of pain who begin the long road to recovery when the people they once trusted most, are not whom they were once believed to be.

If you like a storyline with a mystery as well as a little romance, Identity Crisis is for you. There is a little foreplay, but no sex; a little romance but nothing over the top; a little suspense and a big twist in the background information revealed near the end.
