ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date JUNE 11, 2024

Soul mates born centuries apart. A portal awakens to unite them.

Jaye Ramsey vacations in Bolivia with her friends to prove to her eccentric grandmother that time travel isn’t real. Then she stumbles upon a vortex in the Salar de Uyuni and winds up in Hawksatter, England, 1735—the same town her grandmother had supposedly vanished from as a young woman.

Accused of murdering his bride on their wedding day a decade earlier, Lord Lucas Kenway closed the family farm and shut out the world. He never expected the strange, secretive woman he found sleeping on his doorstep to turn his quiet life upside down—or slip into his bed.

After Jaye discovers a way back to her own time, she’s left with an impossible choice—stay in the past and never see her beloved grandparents again, or return home and lose the only man she’s ever loved.

••••••

REVIEW:Time travelling romance is not my usual go to genre, but pushing myself to read something different.

And I’m glad I did…..

Jaye has grown up with hearing how her grandmother travelled through time. It was put down to an old woman’s flights of fancy. No one really believed the old woman, and to prove her grandmother daydreamed the whole thing, Jaye goes to the town in Bolivia. But the last laugh is on the grandmother’s daughter….. Waking up in a cave, Jaye needs to have her wits about her.

Lucas was accused of murdering his wife on their wedding night…. Closing the family home, he vows no one will ever get close to his heart again!!

300 years in the past, we find Jaye finally believing her grandma’s tales! They were true, but how can she get back to her own time? Does she really want to be stuck here?

Reading the blurb I did get a little confused! Is Jaye a reincarnation of her grandma? How does this time travel work?

But carry on reading and everything becomes clear. It’s a short story so bear in mind that the couple don’t have a lot of pages to fall in love! Can they really overcome all the obstacles that are thrown in their way?

Will Lucas open his heart and believe his lost life has come back? Can Jaye make a life for herself in the past? And if she does, then she’ll never see her family again!

As I said, it’s a short story. But it’s packed full of emotions and events. Really well written and thought out. Apparently it was from an anthology, so it’s be rewritten a little, and there is another story (think it’s her grandmother’s story, but I’m not 100% sure)

I’d recommend this if you’re a lover of time travelling romance.

A quick, fun romance that packs a lifetime in.

ABOUT The BOOK: Release Date: June 26, 2024

I’m the pack reject. The prey.

For years, I’ve kept myself safe from my small pack’s males, hiding in sewers and sleeping in trees to keep their teeth out of my neck. They don’t really want me, just the power and prestige that comes with winning the Hunt. I only want to survive.

In three days, at the Enforcer Games, I’ll have one chance to escape. But when the Games begin, and the most powerful shifters in the world arrive at my packlands and scent me, a new Hunt begins.

They’re the princes of our world. And they’re willing to break the rules to get me.

Pack Reject is the first book in a new paranormal wolf shifter series from Amazon Top 50 and Vella-bestselling author Merri Bright. Fated mates who are driven to reject each other, powerful enemies in unlikely places, and a fierce heroine who will change the world… if she can survive the Hunt.

Please read the content advisories in the Author’s Note. This is a slow burn series where the heroine will not have to choose one mate, if she chooses any at all.

••••••••••

REVIEW: A new author for me to read.

Pack Reject tells a story of a downtrodden female pack member, Florida or Flor as most of the pack call her. The verbal abuse, the way the pack treat her, (if that had been me, I would have curled up and given up years ago!!) just years and years of neglect! But has she given up? Oh hell no!! This is one bada$$, kicka$$ female. She’s managed to outwit/outsmart the males that want “fun” with the reject, the “honour” of claiming her! Becoming Enforcer to the pack means higher up in the pack, so mating Flor is just a means to an end! Realising she needs to leave the pack and find a new one is going to take entering the Enforcer Games. So that’s what she sets out to do….

Enter the heirs to the wolf shifter world! But Flor isn’t aware of who the heirs are at first. And like most male shifters, they are an entitled bunch! I do wonder if Flor doesn’t pick any of them to be her mate/mates. It takes certain characters time and effort to bring Flor around to their way of thinking.

I cheered, I cried, I hissed/booed and threw my kindle throughout this book. And it’s only the first one (my kindle is now hiding under the duvet 😆) Flor has a wicked sense of humour, an acid tongue that spits out fast one-liners. She help but question and disobey at every turn, (it’s probably the only reason she’s still alive!) The action is movie worthy, the story and the characters will have you thinking of it for days to come.

We get different points of view (always nice to hear what other characters think) we get to realise who Flor is to them.

Were the MMC’s going to bond with the same female? (Most books are a why choose genre at the moment) or has they assumed they would mate separately?

There is also a twist (or a small surprise 🤔) which I didn’t see coming, but I thought was a great idea.

Brand/Finnick/Luke/Joaquin and Glen are all in the running to be her mate. There are a few surprises and a sad moment at the end. But for now, they all have a lot of work earning and keeping Flor’s trust. It’s not going to be an easy ride.

There is a cliffhanger. (What a surprise 😝)

There is minimal spice, but the story is soooooo engrossing, I hardly noticed (and too be honest a little refreshing)

I seriously can’t wait to read the next book.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 27, S024

The first time I saw her, I wanted her.
The second time I saw her, I knew she had to be mine.
Beautiful blonde hair. Cornflower-blue eyes. Body to die for.
All things I knew I couldn’t live without.
But after one night, she ghosted me, leaving me desperate for another taste.
I was usually the one to walk out the door before the morning light came.
This time, it was her, but not without becoming my obsession in the process.
Lily was a mystery.
She had a past shrouded in secrets she was unwilling to divulge.
She was running from something, and I was determined to find out what it was.
And once I did, I’d do anything to protect her.
They called me the sinner for a reason.
Because I wouldn’t hesitate to burn down the world or cross any line to save her.

••••••

REVIEW:The next installment in the Spade Hotel series has arrived! The Sinner is a he falls first, billionaire romance that will thrill readers until the very last page.

Brady and Lily’s story is emotional and moving, thrilling and funny, traumatic and loving all at the same time. This fast-paced romance tells the story of a half broken Lily, still suffering from the trauma from her past and the protective Brady that wins her heart. The chemistry between these two was intense, Brady’s need for Lilly was over the top alpha behavior, just the right amount to make the perfect read.

As the plot unravels, and Lily’s secret is uncovered, Brady’s character really starts to develop. I was happy to see his character growth throughout the book, and even more so when they finally officially get together. The man is known as The Sinner, and when said man will do anything for his woman, well… you don’t mess with that woman.

As a longtime MM fan, the Spade hotel series has been a favorite of mine. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what comes next in this series.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 27, 2024

I’m RJ—Robbie Joe, thanks to my mom’s creativity—and I’m a witch.

Well, kind of. I’m still in training.

Magic is like second nature to my sister, Aimee. She’s the golden child, excelling at every spell, acing every test, and just generally being perfect. Me? My magic’s about as predictable as a coin toss.

I never really cared much about it… until now.

Suddenly, our coven is under attack. Witches are losing their powers to an evil we believed to be just legend. Even Aimee falls victim, her magic drained. With so few of us left, it’s up to me and my lackluster powers to save our coven from total extinction.

No pressure, right?

As Aimee and I search for a way to restore the coven’s magic, shocking truths about my past and my true potential come to light. Maybe I’m not a mediocre witch after all. Maybe I’m something special, but the power within me is proving to be dangerous, reckless, and uncontrollable…just like me.

I need to get ahold of my newfound abilities to stop the looming threat to our kind. If I don’t, I won’t only lose everyone I care about, but I’ll lose myself as well.

•••••

REVIEW: Book one in a new series from an author I’ve added to my one-click list.

RJ and Aimee are sisters, but are as different as night and day. Aimee excels at everything she does. whereas poor RJ is a klutz! Her magic is tricky to handle, it doesn’t do what it’s expected of it!

Raised by their overbearing mother, who expects nothing but perfection, it makes RJ’s life hard. As exams approach, RJ knows that her sister will pass easily, her, not so much! Finding a Grimoire has the sisters excited to try some of the spells they find inside. RJ hopes it might stabilise her magic.

A syphoner begins to attack witches. He’s draining the witches of their magic! And it attacks Aimee, who loses her magic!! It’s up to (seemingly the only witch left) RJ to find out who’s behind the witches losing their magic, as well as controlling her magic, and don’t forget her crush on the popular in the academy.

Set in an academy, I’d say it’s more of a YA read rather than adult, which I’ve come to expect from this author. But it doesn’t stop the story from being full of action and just a tad dark.

There is romance, Zane is the popular boy in the academy, and he is interested in her, but why did I get the feeling he’s only playing with her feelings? Has he got some ulterior motive? And I think he has a few secrets (I might be wrong.)

And for RJ’s powers, they might be hit a d miss, but when they work, they surpass and surprise everyone, including RJ. Will she be someone with powers to fear? Or will she be able to vanquish the foe?

Very well written and thought out. Lots of information and the descriptions will have you imagining the scenes pretty clear.

I can’t wait to see where we go next.

Definitely a recommended read from me 👍🏻

REVIEW:I have to admit, this isn’t my usual read. But the blurb sounded pretty interesting.
I definitely got stepford vibes. The perfect lawns, everything in its place…..

Michael and Amelia have moved into what seems like an idyllic setting. Amelia has lots of ideas and is determined to have this house as the next family home… Not even the death of the last owner is going to change her mind!

Multiple points of view to this story made it a little confusing at times, but give it a couple of chapters and you’ll know who is who.
I liked how we got to know each person as an individual, as well as a couple.

The swinging side of the book is covered, but unlike some authors, this one doesn’t harp on or dramatises it. It’s not for everyone, but it seems this little community has it all organised. Or do they? We see cracks in relationships, we see the strain of jealousy and dare I say, discontent in some of the characters. The death of a former swinger put the lifestyle on hold for a while. But once it restarts, you get the feeling it’s not the same as it was!

The secrets are slow to come to the surface, but once they start, it’s like an avalanche! Can Micheal and Amelia navigate it safely? Or will it rock their foundations?

It is a little slow paced for third of the book, but once it picks up, you’re left holding on for the bumpy ride! I felt we could have had more information at the beginning of the book. The last third of the book seemed a little rushed, but maybe that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

That was not what I was expecting. Betrayal/twists/surprises/suspense and a murder to solve. The clues are there, will you guess it right?

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 18, 2024

They say never mix business with pleasure.

As a single father, and the captain of the Seattle Sasquatches, I’m adamant to keep every corner of my life separate and running perfectly.

That is, until Indie Decker walked into my life.

She’s the team owner’s little sister, my new nanny, and so completely out of my league.

Our first encounter? Pure fire, clashing wills with a passion that ensnared us both. Our second? A tentative truce, maybe even a budding friendship. But at some point, we slid recklessly into a ‘friends with benefits’ arrangement, thinking we could stay casual.

Wishful thinking, I know.

With each passing day, our no-strings-attached fling starts weaving threads between us that I’m not ready to cut. Indie’s fierce independence clashes with my need to protect, to heal, and to love her despite her warriness to open up.

But will my steadfast will and soft hands be enough to get through her defenses? Or am I doomed to sit in the penalty box of Indie’s heart?

••••

REVIEW:Hot Hockey romance…✔! Claudia Burgoa continues her wonderful world building in the next installment in the Decker Family series. This is first and foremost a hockey-sports romance but it also is a single father/falling for the nanny genre. The book can be read as a standalone, like the majority of the books in the series with no spoilers.

-Side note, these names are bonkers, but I am just living for them!-

Tuberius “Ty” Byrnes is single Dad, maga hot, star captain of the Seattle Sasquatches, he’s grumpy, he’s surly. He’s good at his job, the one thing he doesn’t do is mix business with pleasure. Or so he thought, until his new Nanny walked through the door.

Indigo “Indie” Decker is a woman with a past, one that she is still struggling with but surviving everyday. She’s sassy, strong and oh so stubborn and doesn’t take anything B.S from anyone. She follows the rules she has set for her life down to the fine line, but one little glance from a tiny little girl and her sasquatch of a father has her rethinking those rules.

Ty and Indie have such chemistry together, when little Myra joins the group cavities ensue with how sweet they are together. They needed each other in different ways, but how they each helped one another open up and share what needed to be shared and deal with the issues of the past to move on, well it was so perfect to read. Ty wasn’t giving up on Indie no matter how hard she tried to push him away, he knew that he needed to be there for her, and Indie (once she got over her stubborn streak) was with the person she needed to be with to finally heal from her trauma.

Overall I really enjoyed the book, as I do with this author and her amazing story telling. I’ll be curious to see what she does with the next set of love birds. 💕

Prologue
Indie
Love is, for some, the ultimate dream. For me, it’s a waste of time.
Romance is nothing but heartache as far as I could see.
Don’t believe me? My biological mother couldn’t live with herself after my biological father died in a car accident. The doctors were able to save me through an emergency C-section. She hadn’t been able to bear the grief and loss of my father. I may have survived, but she did not.
I was a lucky girl, though. Jacob and Pria Decker offered to foster me from the moment I took my first breath.
They were in the NICU for the first three weeks, then took me home, hoping one day they would be able to adopt me. There’s a happy beginning to that story. Soon, I became Indigo Faye Decker—Indie for short.
Mom and Dad have shown me all about family and love. They love me just the same as they do my siblings, even if I don’t share their blood. That kind of love is easy to understand. The romantic one . . . well, in my opinion it sucks.
It’s a lie.
It breaks people, and some don’t even survive—like my mother. If that’s not enough, take one of my oldest brothers, for example. Gabriel lost his first girlfriend at the age of sixteen. He was utterly devastated for a long time. Then came Ameline, and though she brought a smile to his face, it disappeared when she moved across the country to create a new life. That type of love broke him into a million pieces.
Then there’s my sister Harper. Her fiancé was physically, emotionally, and mentally abusing her for years. That worthless piece of trash had destroyed a part of my vibrant, confident older sister.
Who wants to be with someone if, at the end of the day, they’re going to make you feel useless? Not me.
I wish I could say this was just me being an observer, but I once was in love, and he . . . Well, he destroyed me.
The first time I saw him, he was a whirlwind on ice, a blur of navy blue, gold, and white. His sheer talent made my heart race faster than the skaters on the rink. His name was Frederick, and in the glow of the rink lights, he seemed more myth than man, a hero in a hockey jersey. He was my oldest brother Jude’s friend. Freddie was a fixture in our home, but to me, he was untouchable, a dream wrapped in the harsh reality of ice.
“It wasn’t just his skill that captivated me. It was the easy laughter, the way his dark brown eyes crinkled at the edges when he smiled, and how he seemed to fill any room he entered with an infectious energy. To everyone else, he was Freddie, the talented hockey player destined for greatness. To me, he was the guy who made my heart do somersaults every time he ruffled my hair and called me “kid.” If only I’d known the kind of man who lurked beneath the surface.
But as the years slipped by, the gap between Freddie and me seemed to shrink. I went from being Jude’s annoying little sister to someone he actually saw. Our conversations stretched beyond the polite small talk, delving into dreams, fears, and his future. A future I wanted to be a part of. His hopes for the big leagues, knowing the scouts that were already circling. I hung onto every word, secretly dreaming of a future where I was more than just a spectator in his life.
After graduating, he still came around our house to visit us. Though, secretly I always thought it was me who he was looking for. Our friendship grew as I became older. At least, that’s what I thought.
And when I started college, we texted often. Then, there was that one day when his team was in New York to play, and he came to my little studio apartment after the game. I felt so lucky.
Lucky that he had finally turned those dark eyes in my direction. Lucky that we were finally crossing the line from friends to more. At first, I thought my luck had finally turned, but I couldn’t have been more wrong.
He finally saw me as Indie.
I wasn’t Jude’s little sister.
I wasn’t the girl with the childish crush.
He saw me as me—someone who saw him, not just the hockey player, but the boy who laughed too loud, who loved cheesy horror movies, and who had the power to make my heart race with just a glance.
The innocent eighteen-year-old full of love still remembers that night.
When an unexpected visitor had turned my quiet evening upside down. Someone had knocked on my door. When I opened it, it was him, Frederick. I knew the Boston Blizzards were playing the New York Guardians that night but seeing him on my doorstep . . . something shifted in the atmosphere of my small, art-filled space. There he stood, looking effortlessly charismatic.
“I hope I’m not intruding,” he’d said, his voice carrying that familiar warmth, tinged with an edge of something more—excitement, perhaps, or anticipation. “I couldn’t be this close and not see you.”
His words, simple as they were, struck a chord deep within me. It was as if, in that moment, he truly saw me.
“Hey, Freddie,” I said as I finally found my words.
“Finally, I get to do this,” he said, his voice deep and commanding as he closed the distance between us. Before I could react, his lips were on mine, demanding and forceful. I froze, unsure of how to respond. This wasn’t the gentle, tentative first kiss I had imagined. It was something else entirely.
He pulled back, his eyes searching mine for a response. I couldn’t find my voice, so I simply stared at him, my heart still racing. He took this as an invitation, and his lips were on mine again, this time with more urgency.
My mind was reeling. This was wrong, wasn’t it? But at the same time, it felt so right. His hands roamed my body, igniting a fire within me that I had never felt before. I couldn’t help but respond, my own hands exploring his muscular frame.
I winced as he pushed my panties down, his fingers grazing my skin. I wasn’t ready for this, was I? But it was too late to turn back now. He was already unbuttoning his pants, revealing his impressive length. I gasped as he entered me, the pain sharp and intense.
“Stop, please, stop,” I whispered, my voice barely audible over the pounding of my heart, but he didn’t listen to my plea. Instead, he dove deeper into his own urgency, his movements became more frantic, as if trying to escape from something within himself rather than connecting with me.
That night marked the end of my love story, the kind of ending that doesn’t make it into the fairy tales. It was the night he finally kissed me, the night I thought would seal our love, but instead, it unraveled the very fabric of my being. It was as if he took everything from me, leaving me hollow.
I chastised myself, laughter bitter and hollow resonating in my mind. How could I have been so naïve? To believe that he could ever love me was foolish. He proved as much when, after he was done, he walked away without a backward glance. The one time I dared to reach out to him, he coldly told me to leave him alone. Claimed he was too busy for a “child” like me. He even threatened me with a restraining order if I dared to contact him again.
Love, I’ve come to realize, is a fool’s game. It tempts you with promises of forever, only to leave you shattered in its wake.
Haunted by the fear of ending up like my biological mother—to unlife myself after the loss of the man she loved—a cascade of nightmares began to plague me. Night after night, they serve as a cruel reminder of my stupidity, transforming my life.
Despite the mayhem that boils within me, I strive to live a semblance of a normal life. Yet, when the night falls and the world quiets, the fear of closing my eyes is palpable. The darkness isn’t just the absence of light. It’s a canvas for my deepest fears to paint their horrors.
But in the light of day, I wear my mask well. Everyone in my family just thinks that I have debilitating anxiety, which interferes with some aspects of my life. Yet, I still smile, I laugh, and I pretend that I’m okay. Despite the fact that beneath the surface there’s a constant battle raging—a battle to find peace with my past, to forgive myself.
Of course, I tread carefully, guarding my heart against the possibility of being shattered once more.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 13, 2024

Everyone should learn how to handle a stick.

Atty

High school sweethearts, dream wedding, exotic honeymoon, white picket fence, two and a half kids… that’s the dream. My prescribed future. Except, I don’t want any of that. When me and my on/off girlfriend of fifteen years finally call it quits for good, I decide that I’m ready for a new beginning.

I didn’t expect that new beginning to be a dude.

Toby

This man is perfect… he obeys like a marionette, lets me bend him and choke him until my heart’s content. He lets me dress him up, breed him, and refuse his pleasure as if he were built specifically for my needs.

But Atty isn’t who I thought he was and he’s struggling to find his new identity while I’m freefalling for him off the face of a cliff. I’m not used to needing a safety net in life so there’s a very real chance I’m going to hit the ground like a pancake.

Is love always this tragic?

•••••

REVIEW:Toby is a play acting knight. He puts on a show a couple of times a week, he enjoys it, but his real love is his platform on social media?! He predicts hockey scores, he also does reviews on the players (they aren’t always popular, but they are honest in his opinion) he also likes his s£x a certain way! He makes no apologies and he certainly isn’t looking for long term commitments yet.

Hector Atlas (or Atty to friends and family) is an ice hockey player, not great, but certainly not in any danger of being transferred. He’s stuck in a rut, he’s changed his appearance, stopped dating his on/off girlfriend, but nothing excites him anymore, that is until his friend takes him to a jousting event! And yup, you guessed it…. Eyes meet across an arena… and Toby and Atty end up going home together!!

Is Atty gay? He doesn’t think he is, and when he’s not around Toby he’s sure, and he’s not interested in other men. But when Toby calls, all bets are off! Atty just can’t get enough of this choke holding, throw me around and call me good girl time that he has with Toby!

This one did my head in! 😆 but in a good way. I got a little confused with the “good girl” and “baby girl” I thought I was reading an M/F and then realised this was just Toby and his way.

It’s funny how we give labels to male and female, and then rebel when the labels are turned. But I loved how the author made me think about these labels and how we need to change our way of thinking.

And then it hit me…. It’s Toby… the guy who worked with Vulcan (who I still absolutely adore) he has a story that you need to read (For Your Forever) we see a completely different side to Toby in this book.

Anyway I digress….. Back to Toby and Atty (who I think has come to terms with his sexuality, he’s definitely only gay for Toby) It’s becoming apparent to Toby’s roommates that he’s spending more and more time with just one man, and the same man! Toby is certain it will wear off eventually, he’s not worried.

But when Toby finds out that Atty isn’t gay, and has only ever slept with one man, (that would be him!) it freaks him out a little. He’s also freaked out that he’s sleeping with a hockey player and didn’t recognise him (he’s only ever seen Atty with long fair and a beard!) He’s also aware that Atty is engaged to a woman!!

Atty is beginning to fall for Toby, and that has his slightly concerned. They haven’t talked about being a couple. They haven’t even gone out on a date! His friends and family are still assuming he will go back to his girlfriend at some point!

So where do they go from here? To find that out, you’ll need to read this book.

We also get to see other couples from this series. And possibly new couples that could happen 😉

Still not what i would call a “hockey” story. It’s jam packed with smut 🥵 😜 but I thoroughly enjoyed it. 🤌🏻

Can’t wait to read the next one in this series.

Crea lives in upstate New York with her dog and husband. She has been writing since grade school, when her second grade teacher had her class keep writing journals. She has a habit of creating secondary, and often time tertiary, characters that take over her stories. All of her RH relationships end up being heavily polyamorous – meaning it’s not just all the men for one woman. There’s also some M/M action going on. When she can’t fall asleep at night, she thinks up new scenes for her characters to act out. This, of course, is how most of her meant-to-be-thrown-away characters tend to end up front and center – and utterly swoon-worthy! Don’t ask her how many book boyfriends she has…

When not writing, Crea is an avid reader. Her TBR pile is several hundred books high (don’t even look at her kindle wish list or the unread books on her tablet). Sometimes, she enjoys crafting; sometimes, exploring nature; sometimes, traveling. Mostly, she enjoys putting her characters on paper and breathing life into them. Oh, and sleeping. Crea loves to sleep!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 18, 2024

I have one job in this arranged marriage, and that’sto seduce my husband.

It should be easy; I’m the heiress to a transatlantic fortune, bred and raised to make a good match. I’ve spent a lifetime building up my endurance, my discipline, my dedication to my god and my church. The danger lies in falling for the devil who put his ring on my finger—a mistake I made years ago, and can’t afford to make again.

There is one more danger: handsome and green-eyed, emotionally wounded. Tristan Thomas, former soldier and my new husband’s bodyguard. A hero who stole my heart with salt-soaked kisses on the sea.

But Lyonesse is not like other places, and this isn’t like other marriages. Soon Tristan, Mark, and I are tangled in a knot of vicious jealousy and gorgeous wickedness, where suspicion is an aphrodisiac and secrets and vows are one and the same.

And there is something far darker at play than my real purpose, than the machinations of the Church I serve. Darker even than the twisted longings of my own heart. Because my husband has secrets of his own, and the reason he’ll stop at nothing to possess me could slice my soul deeper than the honeysuckle-hilted knife he gave me once upon a time.

Because when it comes to Mark Trevena and his games, the first cut is more than the deepest—it’s the sweetest.

And he always leaves you begging for more…

REVIEW:Honey Cut is book two in the Lyonesse series by the ever spicy Sierra Simone. I don’t even know where to start with this book, the lies, the pain, the mistakes and regret, all there front and center for everyone to experience. Book one in this trilogy is a MUST read!

Tristan, Mark and Isolde are back again in the continuation of book one, and Lord almighty, I was not prepared, there was no getting prepared, or being prepared, it was simply..raw. Tristan and Isolde, fall deeper in love as the book progresses all while trying to hide those same feelings, and then there is their attraction and chemistry with Mark. The quiet, always brooding, sullen Mark, both drawing them together and keeping them apart all at the same time.

HC is most definitely a slow burn, but have mercy Ms. Author, the spicy bits in the book need to come with their own warnings, hot and heavy don’t even cover it. There is so much to unpack in this second book, and more so makes me want Mark’s POV and how his mind works. There are parts to the plot that I am still a little confused on, and others I can’t wait to see how they work out. Of course the Queen Devil herself had to go and end it the way she did, I think she likes to torture us just a little, keeps the readers coming back for more that is sure.
