Ryder is starved of blood for months at a time, and Sabine is ripe for our hero’s lust. Sabine believes that Ryder only wants her for her blood but her memories reveal a bite that is both deadly and arousing. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Cain Connor and Eve Bradley (Hot Enough to Burn #1), scientists Richard Wyatt and Cassandra Armstrong, phoenix Dante, vampires Julia and Grayson; Sabine’s father and her brother Rhett; Rhett’s cousin Vaughn and his father Keith Adams; and Ryder’s brother Malcolm.

With War on his honeymoon, Odin is reluctant to take Maisey’s case as everything is currently circumstantial evidence from the mind of a wanna-be detective with her own crime podcast but the further Odin is pulled into Maisey’s web, the more he is convinced that there is definitely a ring of truth to Maisey’s story. Maisey Bright is certain her neighbor and psychology professor Clay Prescott is a killer but when all of her information and her laptop go missing, Maisey has no proof, and worries that Odin will drop the case, and never look back.

The relationship between Maisey and Odin beings as a contracted assignment but quickly turns into something more. Odin knows to get involved with a client may divert his attention from the job at hand but something about Maisey pulls Odin in the frenetic pace that is her life, a life that quickly spirals out of control. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Maisey’s neighbor Professor Clay Prescott, bar owner Ramsey, as well as the return of ex-Special Forces soldier and Odin’s friend Jinx, and IT specialist Ali Carter. Ali and Jinx’s story is next in Jinx, You’re It.

DON’T PLAY WITH ODIN is a story of secrets, lies, betrayal and obsession. The premise is engaging and intriguing with a twist that comes out of left field- a little bit of a red herring. There are a few humorous moments that warrant a giggle or two. The romance is seductive; the characters are colorful and energetic but saying that Maisey Bright is often a little TSTL, placing herself in the direct line of fire, refusing to remain out of the direct line of fire.

Rose Shadow is in trouble-she is a person of interest in the murders of several local women, and has not one but two potential stalkers who are forcing our heroine on the run. Roman Smith knows a thing or two about the dangerous players in the game of international espionage having been one of the most dangerous players of them all but it is his past that is trying to destroy his future, and in this he refuse to place Harper in the direct line of fire. Harper Crane knows Roman is keeping secrets including his real identity, back story and people from his past. Without knowing who is after them, Harper struggles between head and heart, and every threat pulls Roman further away.

The relationship between Harper and Roman is tempestuous at best but one of immediate attraction between our story line couple. Roman knows that to get involved with Harper Crane means placing our heroine in the direct line of fire. Together, and in hiding, Harper and Roman will take their relationship from professional to love but in doing so, once again, make Harper a liability Roman can no longer afford. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include Wilde Ways owner Eric Wilde; IT hacker and CIA operative Antony Kyle; Roman’s former handler Dexter ‘Dex’ Ryan; museum curator Tomas Archwright, and his assistant Charity Hall. Antony’s story line is next in THE ONE WHO GOT AWAY.
